[6.0] "This is a really good match but I'm taking off points for the shoot headbutts. That happening in a wrestling ring in 2021 is some of the stupidest shit I've ever seen, no one's entertainment is worth getting CTE for, or risking what happened to Shibata. Rossy should have been fired way earlier for allowing that."
[7.0] "Really good match, as is the least usually expected for a big Mayu singles match. This was the company ace/"icon" vs the soon-to-be heavily pushed next face of the company, and both worked very distinct styles from each other, so this was inherently interesting on paper. Their last match ended as a 15-minute draw, so it was interesting to see whether that evenly matched nature of theirs would continue here in the form of another, longer draw, or whether one would prevail this time instead. Mayu was nicely aggressive with her many stiff strikes, while Giulia brought the same intensity with her various submissions. Mayu's agile movements and attacks were also very good, and she also used that agility of hers to bump and sell extremely uniquely and convincingly for all of Giulia's big attacks. As usual, Giulia's offence was never the most graceful (and at times it was a bit, or even outright, sloppy), but she always made up for that with her physicality and her displays of passion. Mayu was very sympathetic as she suffered through Giulia's control and did her best to fire up and fight back to even ground. I especially like her intensity when delivering those headbutts and trying to literally laugh of Giulia's own offence at the same time. All of Mayu's big moves looked great, whether they were power moves or high-flying moves, while Giulia's submissions and transitions into them were also quite impressive, with that overall contrast in their styles making for quite an engaging match. Their power moves in the finishing stretch were all really good, as were all of Mayu's many perfectly delivered kicks, making for some exciting and convincing near falls before Mayu finally put Giulia away. I do think Giulia was quite good here, but it always felt that the main appeal of this match was everything Mayu was doing, whether on offence or defence. ***1/2"
[10.0] "I love, love, loved this match. I think they might have went a little overboard with the shoot headbutts but putting aside the obvious physical risks taken there, it really sold the vitriol between these two. They clearly have amazing chemistry as shown by this match and the one they had a few months later. It is a shame Giulia's run in the 5Star got cut short due to injury because she was on fire here."
[9.0] "One of the better matches of the tournament. Giulia and Mayu were excellent here. Great action and pacing, very physical and hard hitting match. There was a small botch in the middle when Giulia dropped Mayu on the apron but they quickly got over it and were able to produce a great match. The finishing stretch was excellent: They went back and forth trading heavy shots including unprotected headbutts; Mayu utilising stiff and powerful strikes while Giulia utilized a more submission based style; Mayu was relentless in her assault bit Giulia isn't one to take a beating and stay down; Both women showed great tenacity and grit. Mayu is easily the most outstanding performer in Stardom's history and Giulia is a true legitimate player in Stardom. MoTN. ****1/2"
[10.0] "One of the best matches of the tournament just behind Mayu/Momo. Mayu delivers again with another master-piece. It was a hard-hitting slugfest especially towards the end and those thuds on the head-butts were absolutely disgusting and made me cringe. Mayu is simply in-human, the way she bumps and the amount of punishment she takes. She's made of rubber, I swear and one of these days it's going to be proven true. Giulia capitalized on Mayu's weakness as she worked and focused her offense on Mayu's neck. She was very technically sound while working on the neck using a variety of submission maneuvers to exert pain on the vulnerable Mayu. Mayu would have a fiery come-back sequence which were very believable and investing. Mayu was absolutely possessed during that sequence, giving it her all and fighting through the immense amount of pain. Mayu sold the hell out of her injury as if her life depended on it and it was wonderful. Everything in the match was logical and made sense. Just needed a bit more exposure and depth in order to guarantee the 5 stars. Regardless, it was a brilliant main event match-up. Very fiery and energetic and it delivered big time. Definitely worth the time, a banger of a match for sure. ****3/4"
[10.0] "An incredible match. I haven't seen this type of match for a long time. Each element in this fight was somehow directed to the development of storytelling. It wasn't just a battle between two top-performers, it was A REAL WAR BETWEEN TWO ALPHA-BITCHES. The Icon of Stardom against the absolute MVP of 2020. None of the women wanted to lose their positions, so they gave 210%. Every part of the match worked for the result and showed that both Iwatani and Giulia can sacrifice everything to prove their superiority. I still have goosebumps from a series of headbutts when Mayu and Giulia could barely hold back tears and, more importantly, smiles. I can talk about this match for a long time, but in general it is the gold standard for a wrestling match in all aspects. *****"
[4.0] "I was enjoying this pretty well until they decided to go all Shibata on each other... so many seemingly stiff skull to skull headbutts, perhaps they had some way to work them safely but it really took me out of the match. Highly unnecessary for what they were going for."
[10.0] "This match was so good and the highlight of the tournament so far alongside Momo vs. Mayu. Both wrestlers have come a long way since their first meeting last year, but especially Giulia, who was just so brutal here but at the same time showed respect to Mayu, which at the end cost her the match. Mayu continues being on a whole other level and I love it. ****1/2"
[10.0] "So much has happened to both wrestlers since their match in last year's 5 Star Grand Prix, which shows that in STARDOM, if wrestler is getting over and is actually succeeding, things will move very fast for them. Giulia's new gear made her look like Kagetsu a little bit. They had one of the best matches of 2020's 5 Star Grand Prix, and I'm sure this match is gonna be on the shortlist of best matches of this year's tournament. Giulia worked over Mayu's neck as much as she could and Iwatani's selling elevated this match from 'great' to 'really great'. For Giulia this match was a massive net positive even though she lost - sometimes she stills tries to bite a little more than she can chew, but compared to last year's match, she belonged in the ring with Mayu on her own, without Syuri. In last like seven minutes one-upmanship game was elevated to another level, they wanted to absolutely destroy each other, and Mayu Iwatani that decides to destroy her opponent is an awesome pro-wrestler to watch. To me this was the best match on the show, but I still think that they have a better match in them and I wouldn't be surprised if both wrestlers think so too. ****½"
[10.0] "Easily MOTT so far. Mayu and Giulia are so good because before the start you already realize that they are the two strongest characters in the promotion. The match is very cleverly constructed. Before the fight, I was sure of Giulia's victory, but that crazy smile of Iwatani changed everything. She won the exchange of headbutts, and after even another unsuccessful moonsault could not stop her. No matter how strong physically and mentally Giulia is, today Mayu's will to win and rebirth was stronger."
[7.0] "Second best match of the night. Many nasty moves, especially these fucking headbutts. Giulia is seriously going to hurt somebody and herself in the process one day..."
[8.0] "Even better than their 5 Star match from last year, the only weird part was Giulia hitting her finisher but then not going for the pin. I love these two a lot and they had high intesity main event full of fantastic bumps ****1/4."
[9.0] "Excellent match. It has high intensity, a lot of big moves, great near falls and selling. Both women did fantastic job building the match. Mayu is my fav and she performed very well. Giulia also brought a lot of energy into the contest. It is like a typical big stardom main event match. A thumb up."
[8.0] "another really, really good match here, on most nights it would be match of the show, but Maika vs Syuri just edges it for me, but still this was great, both wanting the win at whatever cost, some brutal moments such as Mayu taking a neckbreaker from the apron to the floor was scary, a headbutt exchange which seemed safe until Mayu's final headbutt to Giulia where you heard their heads smash together, to name just a couple, some good near falls and a nice finish with Mayu finally putting Giulia away by attempted murder, with a tombstone, four kicks to the head, a moonsault and a dragon suplex, Giulia then tried to save herself with a quick roll-up, so Mayu then kicked her in the head two more times and then mercifully put her away with the two step suplex, great match (****)"
[8.0] "This match was absolutely excellent, and even better than their match in the 5Star Grand Prix 2020. Mayu lost to Momo Watanabe on the first day, so she has an incredible desire to regain some momentum, even if it's against Giulia, someone that she didn't arrive to beat in their two 1 on 1 confrontations. Mayu's acting here was just insane, she gave everything to not start the tournament with two loss in a row. Giulia knew that and she even arrived to have some returns out of Mayu's anger. The Rollup just before the end shows it, and it also shows that she can't beat Mayu in a decisive way in that match, because it was Giulia's last chance. And in fact, she lost just after this Rollup. The exchange of headbutts during this match was tremendous, and they were impactful, especially Mayu's one. Like always, Giulia delivers a very good performance here. The only default I think we have here is the Glorious Driver used just as a transition move, but except that, we clearly had an excellent bout. ****1/4"
[8.0] "An awesome match. I discovered both girls this year and have enjoyed almost every match they've been in. Hence, I was pretty excited to check this out and it delivered big time. Stiff kicks and headbutts accompanied by some nasty neck bumps, all wrapped up in a nice 18 minute package, and you've got what's most probably my favorite match of the tournament so far. ****"
[8.0] "Nice match. I liked Mayu work in this match. She has incredible super kits. Giulia performed dangerous and beautiful headbats, and Mayu reacted with villainous laughter and began to conduct headbats herself. The feeling of "competition" is perfectly conveyed. There were a couple of nasty botches, but overall they didn't break the view. Mayu sells well the sheb. ****"
[9.0] "A vast improvement over their GP match last year. They've grown more comfortable working together and this felt like the first time they produced a match that blended the best of their styles into a cohesive whole. Giulia deliberately worked the neck and displayed dominance on the ground, while Mayu relied on her zombie-like durability and kicking power. ****1/4"
[8.0] "Very intense fight with a result that felt well earned after months of suffering that Mayu had to endure, and a lot of storied matchups with Giulia. Slight downgrade thanks to an awkward apron botch (which Mayu played off well) and a set of headbutts that felt unnecessary and nasty to watch. Didn't quite win MotN to me, that honour goes to Syuri vs Maika, but it was fairly close."
[9.0] "With the exception of her matches against Tam, Giulia has never taken a beating like this. Mayu was merciless with her kicks throughout the match, despite taking some heavy shots herself and bumping like a ragdoll. However, although I don't factor this into match quality, THEY NEED TO STOP THE SHOOT HEADBUTTS! Seriously, Giulia has done it so many times that the audience isn't even shocked anymore. I'm sure they'll insist that they know how to protect themselves properly, but it only takes one of these to go slightly wrong for someone to get badly hurt. As for the match itself, ****1/2."
[9.0] "Maybe the most prestigious match Stardom can put up right now, between the star of Bushiroad and the star of the Threedom (well, the last one remaining at least), was supposed to be good. And it was, even though I think it could have been slightly better. Giulia's new gear is a clear message that the old Giulia is back. The match was a great competitive 15 minutes fight, with both of themtrying their best to beat the other. Mayu's selling on Giulia's missile dropkick was very fun, and Mayu's win was a good choice imo. ****1/4"
[7.0] "I think I expect a little more, match was pretty cool but kinda find myself not felling like it was an epic match, cool match anyways (*** 3/4)"
[9.0] "Opinions of this match will vary. It was a violent affair with even crazier neck bumps than the preceding match between Syuri and Maika. Whereas the match between these two in May was a fun and enjoyable 15-minute affair, this one was brutal, full of wince-worthy bumps, a big headbutt and a finish that was kind of sandbagged. I'll give it a ****1/4, but I also understand that there will be people that are put off by this match, while others will view it as a classic."
[10.0] "A fantastic match! The best Stardom match for this year, which is the highest praise, given such matches as Giulia-Nakano, Hayashishita-Syuri, and two singles matches at the last event. But they surpassed everything. From the very beginning, Mayu didn't feel sorry for Giulia, despite the respect expressed at the beginning of the match, and in every possible way destroyed her back, for which she eventually paid when Giulia recouped with a bump on apron, and then in the ringside, equalizing the chances. And after they put everything on the line, when they can be defeated by any attack, the match became a real race to be ahead of the curve, who will get tired faster and lose the strength to fight further. A lot of killer moves, a lot of fighting spirit moments, a lot of headbutts that hurt, and a lot of excellent acting that conveys their attitude to each other and what they do. Iwatani was a psycho who was ready to endure everything, begging for even more pain, and thereby angering Giulia even more. The ending was amazing: just as Watanabe destroyed her, she destroyed Giulia, leaving her no chance. Giulia, realizing that she will lose, makes a desperate attempt to end the match with a roll-up, but Mayu, who has learned from her loss, doesn't allow this to happen. An excellent match, which is bound to become a new modern classic (*****)."
[8.0] "Very cool match here, like they wanted to kill themselves here, especially Mayu, she took some crazy bumbs here, like the neckbreaker from to apron to the outside or when Giulia just yeeted her across the ring with a dropkick. Ending stretch was on fire too, Mayu's kicks were pretty good."
[9.0] "What a great match between Giulia & Mayu. Giulia had a new gear here which kinda confirms that she will win the 5*. The two biggest stars from Stardom went All Out here with Shoot Headbutts and Mayu's typical Neck Bumping. I am sure they can top it one day for the red belt (**** 1/4)"
