[6.0] "My experience of watching this is heavily skewed by how incredibly annoying this crowd was for the first half of the match. Tyler does a decent job of selling after Shingo works his legs, but it gets worse as the match continues and they pull out bigger and bigger moves. Worth watching just for the novelty!"

[8.0] "Historically, an absolutely incredible matchup between perhaps the two best wrestlers in the top two companies in the United States and Japan. In the moment, an absolutely incredible matchup between two of the best that Ring of Honor and Dragon Gate had to offer. I was taken aback by the approach taken here, as I expected an almost Dragon Gate-style pace to an explosive match between two of the most complete wrestlers on the planet. Instead, Shingo Takagi showed his technical prowess as he methodically, creatively, and ruthlessly attacked the knee. It was a nice reminder of how gifted Shingo is on the mat. Tyler Black sold well and had a great blend of adrenaline-driven moments and desperation offense. And while I admittedly felt it was more of a mid-7s type of match for a while, the final few minutes were absolutely electric. A small ring kept these two close at all times and enabled some absolutely tremendous moments leading to a fantastic finish. Absolutely worth your time for both historical purposes and the fact that it's a great match. 4 stars, 8 out of 10. And I might be low-balling it."

[10.0] "The real hidden gem of wXw. Dream match came true. Shingo showed a lot of passion in the match and Black (Rollins) tried to be a part of match's harmony. The mix of styles gave the match extra interest. ****1/2"

[8.0] "A somewhat hidden gem in the backlogs of both guys in the match. The first half was mostly Shingo working Tyler's leg who sold it pretty well, but got spotty with it in the second half when both guys started throwing moves at each other. Great finishing stretch with Shingo getting the upset, ****1/4."
