[7.0] "Despite the buildup being just one promo by each of them they made the match work which is a testiment to how good they are. Corino is a master at interacting with the crowd and he made my day with his performance here. Danielson dominates most of it and teasing the Old School Explosion cost Corino the match. Sort of a hidden gem"
[6.0] "Really just a fine match that does its job well. Steve corino and Bryan Danielson both being funny in their own ways. Corino being an ass and Bryan kicking his teeth in is great."
[6.0] "Considering the lack of much history or story here that was gleamed from commentary plus Corino, to my knowledge, not being as big a player in ROH as many of Bryan's other defences, I think a shorter runtime or more fiery offence from the challenger might've benefitted this as it didn't quite feel that big a contest and more like another notch for Bryan. Nothing wrong with it, was a nice match with some levity, but it could've used some urgency. ***"
[6.0] "Pretty sure this was the origin of Bryan's classic "you're gonna get your head kicked in" chant which was pretty fun. The match itself was good, they started off hot and slowed it back down again. Some fun comedy moments with the crowd and Bryan calling Corino fat. Corino going for Old School Expulsion as a move he hadn't used and then paying for it was a cool finish - ***1/4"
[8.0] "A match unique in its category. On the one hand, yes, he absolutely doesn't stand out in the legendary title reign of Danielson, and looks like Fale against Okada in it, when the match is decent, but the competition is too merciless. On the other hand, it can be entered into storytelling textbooks, because having no signs of rivalry, having no vivid interactions during the match, and sequences that remain in memory for longer than a few seconds, this match is inexcusably able to hold attention for a long time, and all the moments where "nothing happens", they meant no less than the ending saturated with moves. Full involvement of the audience, working with them at such a level that every fan considers himself important, and the appropriate shout of Bryan's chant, thanks to which Bryan himself finds an excuse to mock Corino once more, and Corino himself repeatedly returns to self-mockery, as the pinnacle of all this. They didn't need to show something extraordinary for their program to work and they succeeded with what they had. A match to pay attention to (****)."
