| 2 | 27.08.2024 | Styles619 | 9.0 | I thought this was an excellent match. This was something of a dream match between TNA and ROH, and LAX were treated like royalty in ROH, especially Homicide. Usually the Briscoes have a huge sprint for the last several minutes of the match, but that didn't happen here. Instead, they opted to keep the match going through out, even during spots where they were keep wrestlers from tagging their partners, they made sure it wasn't boring. Some tag team matches do long chin lock and rest holds during these periods of time, but that didn't happen here. I will say there were times when LAX was reckless, with Jay Briscoe's nose getting a bit busted while Mark got a cut below his eye and Hernandez just tossed Mark from the electric chair position in a wild fashion. This was still a fun match, and for it to only happen once, I enjoyed it a lot. ****1/2 |

It didn't quite live up to its full potential (likely because to get the best match out of these two teams given their respective styles you'd probably need a full blood feud rather than just a random one off dream match) but it was still easily MOTN. The match was very physical, largely due to what seemed to be recklessness on the part of LAX. Homicide gave Mark a nasty cut under his eye (check out the close up shot in the post-match) and Hernandez busted Jay's nose. Hernandez also did this crazy release electric chair drop move where he just let Mark free fall to the mat at an awkward angle that looked super dangerous. They never really did the usual 'sprint' towards the finish that the Briscoes are famous for, so on that front some fans may be a bit disappointed, but there was still a lot to enjoy here, and I thought the novelty value of seeing LAX in ROH made up for any areas where it may have been lacking. It's a shame we couldn't have got this as a full blown feud, but what we did get was still worth checking out if you are a fan of either team. |
