[3.0] "The second time Randy Savage had to be a transitional champion for Hogan in WCW. They were so desperate in 1999 they were hot shotting everything hoping it give a ratings bump instead of being cool. This match is also just bad. I hate saying that for any Savage match but he was on fumes here."

[3.0] "Y'know...I was expecting a giant piece of crap. Don't get me wrong this match is still offensively bad in general but compared to the Nitro match they had in 1998, This one was leaps and bounds better but that's not saying much. Savage is just cooked here, He gained weight to hide a injury and it affected his wrestling ability and Hogan has slowed down too. We get some interference, one that was jarring was Sting. Did Sting forgive Hogan suddenly? Vicious obviously comes down and Nash too. Hogan is the new champ. [*1/2]"

It popped the rating and transitioned the belt from Nash to Hogan. Job done. Hogan needed Sting and Nash to help with Sid around but that never matters with Hogan. After the match, Nash cuts a shitty promo where he talks in a round about way when challenging Hogan for the title. Hogan has to ask what hes saying as did Bischoff. We get the answer, its those two at Road Wild. Zzzzz. **1/2"

[0.0] "It would seem that everything can go wrong in a match, but WCW has once again proved that they are the best in this business of how to mess up everything and make everything go wrong. So the match was going well, although it was slow, but the unnecessarily long beating of Hogan with a belt from Macho Man, which did not affect anything, was extremely upsetting. In the final of the fight, everything turned into a total moronic overbooking with the intervention of various wrestlers, and the dumbest thing is that right in front of the referee, Sid Vicious hits Hogan in the face and the match continues, and for a second there were no special rules. Once again, Hulkster is crowned champion, which was actually a bad decision for the subsequent ratings war with the WWF."

[0.0] "A year ago, WCW panicked and gave away this match for free when the WWF broke their winning streak. They took back the win that night. Fast forward to this match and WCW hasn't won in ages, they're desperate, they put this match on again and nothing, not a single dent in the ratings whatsoever. This feud is washed up, Savage is a washed up bag of steroids, Hogan is actually better than him at this point but his stupid "I'm still Hollywood but now I'm Hulk" is confusing and lame. Eric Bischoff sits on commentary and smugly cheers for Hogan. Sid gets involved, Sting gets involved (hilarious to help his arch enemy Hogan, for reasons), and Nash gets involved, an overbooked mess. Hogan wins the title to a decent but not at all impressive reaction. A true slog and another marker on WCW's road to hell."
