Booker T vs. John Bradshaw Layfield

[5.0] "Kind of random for Booker to suddenly be a face again. This match was a 6 point match for quite a while, but the Orlando Jordan interference just got to be way too much. It got to the point where Booker seemed to be dealing with him more than JBL. It was stupid. The ref should have thrown him out well before. He had to interfere close to 10 times and it derailed the match. Besides that, it was a better than expected match. Overbooked and stupid when all is said and done, but otherwise pretty good."

[7.0] "A pretty physical match, started quite basic but got better by the end. We even saw a Book End hit on the outside! A super overbooked finish, but again it works with JBL's character. Pretty good overall package here."

[4.0] "These two just don't strike me as two guys that would have chemistry and that appeared to be the case. I don't think anyone was really expecting him to beat JBL so the crowd didn't care. The match was worked decently but it just wasn't exciting in the least bit."

[4.0] "It's a below average match. It's a fundamentally sound match but the fans aren't into and Orlando Jordan is constantly involved in it. Every 2 minutes or so he's getting involved and it gets annoying. Josh Matthews being on Booker T's side just was a weird choice and like I get it he was apart of the storyline but still makes no sense to have gone through with it. **"

[4.0] "Only a 4 because of Josh Matthews and Charles Robinson. Really mediocre match, neither JBL or Booker look good in any real way here, and it's just kinda boring. Plus, both of these guys in the world title picture is just kinda unserious, Booker as anything more then a good midcard hand after WM19 really doesn't work until King Booker, and JBL is just not a main event wrestler, especially given his career as a lower mid carder. Orlando Jordan does more then just about everyone, but he's way too involved, and it doesn't really logical when he does. Also the finish is dumb, one belt shot to end a world title match at a Big 4 PPV ? On a slow count ? Really not helping making this match feel in anyway important."

[5.0] "Booker's babyface again and he's still over somehow, but there was no way he was beating JBL. It wasn't anything to be excited about, they had a decent match with both guys showing good work, but it ends there. But I gotta say that I've been loving Orlando as Bradshaw's flunky."

[9.0] "Ah, this was wacky as hell but it was very fun in my opinion. Booker put on a hell of a showing, pulling out a lot of his best stuff, and JBL was hard hitting as usual and knew just how much to bump and stooge. It did devolve into interference but I gotta give it up to Orlando Jordan, that dude was working overtime. I dunno, it won't be for everyone but I really enjoyed it."

[4.0] "They go way too far with the Orlando Jordan interferences in the most obnoxious ways possible. For example there's a moment where Booker takes him out with the Scissors Kick which is a finishing move and then moments later he's perfectly fine not selling a damn thing! Then at the finish he eats a Book End setting up the finish where JBL hits him with the title and Jordan's just there smiling like nothing happened to him! I get that the whole point of the match was JBL needed to take every shortcut to win the match, but this is just horrible booking where it's supposed to protect Booker T in defeat, but his finishers aren't doing anything to the guy constantly interfering in the match! JBL and Booker try with this and at least it's not boring like Undertaker v Heidenreich, but it's a very paint by numbers heel title defence. Josh Matthews interfering was pretty pointless, but at least he actually sold his beating!"

[3.0] "I'm honestly clueless as to how this has a notably higher rating than Heidenreich vs Undertaker, and I feel like it's just due to Booker T being more highly regarded than Heidenreich, because this was genuinely really boring. I remember finding it extremely dull at the time, and rewatching it now nothing has changed. It is slow and very uneventful for large portions of the run time. It takes Josh Mathews of all people running in for anything even remotely exciting to happen. Booker T's nearfall is well done gets a good reaction, but the rest of this is a drag."

[7.0] "No one gave this a 7? Anyway, underrated match, I don't know why this is so low. This is easily the best JBL match I've seen. Probably the only one as good as this is the one against Eddie where he gets his head blasted with a steel chair."

[8.0] "Decided to rewatch this show for the first time in YEARS because of Brian Zane's recent review of it. That being said, I just loved this match. Classic 2004 JBL overbooking of course, but it totally worked here. Color me sports entertained. ****1/4 OH, , , and on a side note, I was pretty amused by Tazz claiming that he had never seen Booker T do the Harlem Hangover before this match LMAO."

[4.0] "Match just doesnt really have many high points. The story of Orlando interfering was pretty basic and could have been built a lot better for Booker Ts eventual beat down of him. The ref bumps at the end feel like lousy booking. Hype for lil Naitchs run in near fall count though."

[5.0] "An average match that is made even more mediocre by the overbooked finish (darn ref bumps! ). Both guys are decent wrestlers but this match was definitely nothing special."

[5.0] "Booker T vs JBL was okay surprisingly still overbooked since it's a JBL match for his title but this is good."

[6.0] "This wasn't a top JBL defence. There were some good moments, but it was somewhat overbooked at the end."

[3.0] "Below average match that was on the verge of sucking completely, but not quite. I enjoyed some of the comeback moments Booker had, the crowd really got into it and he looked like he was about to win on a few occasions, which helped the match remain interesting. The constant interferences from Orlando Jordan fucking sucked though, it did nothing to further the feud or the match or anything, it was just annoying. In the end, Booker predictably gets fucked over and JBL gets the win. This wasn't very good at all. *1/2"
