Brodie Lee vs. Claudio Castagnoli

[6.0] "Overall, this is a pretty good hoss fight where everything feels rough and uncooperative. Both men unleash stiff strikes and take hard bumps into the cage, with Claudio gorilla pressing Brodie into the cage in particular standing out. Brodie's domination in the opening minutes dragged a bit, although I liked the psychology of Claudio fighting from underneath and gradually turning the tide. The diving uppercut off the top of the cage at the end was pretty insane."

[8.0] "Two big men beating the hell out of each other inside a steel cage. What's there not to like? Claudio Castagnoli and Brodie Lee are too highly talented big wrestlers, and this match doesn't lack in bruality. There weren't too many mind-blowing moments (except for Claudio's leaping uppercut from the top of the cage), but this was very good. A very nice steel cage match, overall."

[8.0] "Very good match. Personally, I thought it took a little while to start, but as soon as Cesaro did his Giant Swing, it got violent. And in my opinion, like many other people, the best moment of the match was the European Uppercut from the top of the cage. I'm pretty sure Cesaro has never done that in WWE."

[10.0] "A brilliant match that showed the full potential of what both guys can do. The cage spots look intense, Brodie starts bleeding all over, the stuff with Hawke and Sweeney was perfectly done, and of course Claudio diving off the cage and bouncing back to his feet like a house of fire, my god! I had to watch this one in honor of the great Brodie Lee, one of the best big men ever, and it absolutely delivered everything I hoped it would."

[8.0] "Great contention of valuable stiff and never taken for granted. The stipulation helped and gave that extra touch it needed. That's great."

[5.0] "I didn't enjoy how this was just a basic messy brawl at the start with really mediocre cage spots, but the cage spots eventually became more interesting and impactful, and both guys would soon bring out some decent strikes and power moves to further make this more than just your typical 'walk around the ring and brawl' match. Ridiculously slow cage escape attempts always annoy me, and that was no different here, as Lee took forever to climb up the ropes and would even go back in the ring when he clearly could have just jumped down and won the match. I can't say there was anything here you haven't seen in 1000s of other cage matches, but this also wasn't totally boring and annoying like most cage matches tend to be, since it at least had enough decent moment to mostly hold it together. **3/4"

[6.0] "I gave this match *** 1/4 stars out of 5. It had some nice power moves and very good selling, but it just lacked something for me that would have put it at a higher rating."

[10.0] "Fantastic match from both ends. The first ever CHIKARA Cage match really proved to be special. I remember that this match was my first real exposure to both Brodie Lee and Claudio Castagnoli, and what a fine match to do it! Great storytelling and just tremendous wrestling."

[8.0] "I'm not even a fan of Chikara but when I found out Cesaro and Luke Harper back when they were Claudio Castagnoli and Brodie Lee on the indies had a steel cage match in Chikara to cap off their feud they had in 2008, I thought I'd go on YouTube and check that match out and I'm glad I did cause overall this was a fun match to watch! These guys are great!"

[8.0] "This one had the potential to be one of the best cage matches ever, and the reason that it's not is the selling- it could've been better. I think it beacuse the length of the match, it's shame it wasn't longer. Moreover, Lee's psychology could've benn better and he was needed to be more dominant. however, this match was awesome. Lee took some nasty bumps, double C looked great, they told an amazing story and of course the ending was epic. ****"
