This is the match I'd say that really cemented syuri and utami hayashishita as all time greats in stardom ( though don't get it twisted they've always been great even before this match ) . Syuri and utami hayashishita is the most legendary series of matches in stardom history. This match is the greatest in utami hayashishitas career and one of the best in syuris career as well . This match encapsulates fighting spirit to the highest degree , the double ko finish was very unexpected as well but didn't feel unsatisfying."

[10.0] "People often say that one goal in wrestling is making a match feel like a real fight. This one goes more than forty minutes, and I can easily say it achieves that. Syuri's strikes are absolutely brutal, and it's hard to understand how Utami stayed on her feet. The opening stretch is a showcase of great mat work and tight submissions. Utami focuses on Syuri's knee with real intent, and Syuri rebuilds her offense with kicks to the back and chest. I love how committed she is to her style, never backing away from the strike. The suplexes look wild, with a couple of them against the turnbuckle and on the apron that make you worry for their safety. It's true that Syuri carries most of the offense, and Utami can barely get something going before Syuri answers, but Utami's ability to endure is worth mentioning. I can't give anything other than a ten to two wrestlers who leave everything in the ring."
[9.0] "This match was so close to being perfect. The action was great and the way these two sold their exhaustion was superb, but I have 2 slight problems. One is not there fault, but if this took place in front of a full crowd the atmosphere would have seriously improved the match. The other is the actual finish. I love the fact that they went to a time limit draw and then still drew in overtime, that was a genius move if you ask me. But the actual execution/timing was off for me. The match had already hit the highest point for me and the head kick as the final move after all the bombs these two had thrown at each other just felt a touch lackluster. Don't get me wrong the match was excellent, nearly perfect, but those two slight imperfections stop it from from being a 10. [9.5/10]"

The first 30 mins were already great but add in the over time and we got one of the best match this year and probably the BEST women's/ JOSHI match of all time. The challenger dominated early and most of the match. The stiff kicks were nasty and Syuri was relentless. Equally amazing was the Champion who didn't and wouldn't stay down. She got back up over and over again despite the insane punishment she took. The execution wasn't perfect and there was a botch outside near the end of 30 mins but it didn't matter. What truly made this match amazing wasn't a complex and jaw dropping in ring action but the insane amount of passion and emotional depth these two brought out of the match and from each other. Amazing. *****"

[10.0] "I decided to give this a watch since it's the highest star rated women's wrestling match of all time with 5.5 Stars. After watching it, this match was freaking insane. Both had no signs of giving up and battle each other to the very end. Both went back and forth with brutal strikes, big moves, submission holds and good reversals. They started off with some good technical wrestling, I wasn't expected them to begin with that. The match started to pick up when they got to the outside, Syuri just kicked the shit outta Utami's arm, Utami countered a kick and slammed Syuri's knee into the apron. Utami just targeted that knee once they got back into the ring. Syuri then kicked the shit outta Utami's back and to the front of Utami, I mean nothing was held back in those kicks. Utami finally came back in this match with a nasty suplex into the corner. Syuri landed roughly on the floor after Utami moved out of the way, I mean it was a rough landing. They both started to unload brutal elbow and kicks on the apron, after slapping the shit outta Syuri, Utami delivered some move onto the apron. After a while, Syuri came back and delivered a brutal DDT onto the floor to Utami, then Utami delivered another brutal suplex to Syuri into the apron where she landed awkwardly with head hitting first. These two were just destroying each other, both then delivered brutal and stiff slaps to one another. I was shocked this ended in a draw, but Syuri grabbed the mic and wanted more time, and thankfully, more time was given to them. They immediately went back to throwing brutal strikes to one another. These two literally hit a 2nd gear once the match was restarted and continued to destroy each other Syuri throw Utami like a freaking dart into the turnbuckle. These two just kept kicking out and surviving each others submission holds, I had no idea who was gonna win. Syuri delivered a brutal move to Utami to only get a two count, I really thought that was it. Utami managed to get enough strength to hit a power-bomb and BT Bomb, and Syuri grabbed the rope to keep this match going. Then the match just stopped as both weren't about to continue. This match was unbelievable."
[10.0] "9/10. An undeniably high-level match. I've always been resistant to watching anything that goes over 30 minutes--it just wears me out. I'm not the type of viewer who can fully immerse myself in a wrestling match for that long. That's why, for me, even the famous Kenny vs. Okada matches don't feel that amazing; I generally prefer those 25-minute, full-throttle battles. But this match is one of the rare long matches that actually kept me in my seat all the way through. In 43 minutes, it showcased everything these two wrestlers could possibly bring. Syuri pulled off all kinds of unbelievable submission counters and kicks; Hayashishita had several extremely dangerous, genuinely shocking spots that completely made up for the fatigue that usually comes with longer matches. Fantastic stuff. Utami doesn't have this level of stamina anymore, and as for Syuri--one of my absolute favorites--she delivered exactly what I hoped to see. These two are probably the greatest joshi wrestlers of this era, or at the very least, they're my personal favorites."

Awesome selling from both, and the action is great. The all out brawl after more time is added is the best part of all of this and is what makes the match special."
[9.0] "It just sucks that this was during the COVID era, because you know for a fact this match could've kept a crowd 30 times it's size more than engaged the entire time. Beautiful technical work and some insane spots, and the perfect example on how you do a double knockout finish. Showcase the durability of both while putting both people over. Really good shit."
[10.0] "[4.75*] This was a very complete match, where the main focus was the feud between them and their exhaustion for trying to beat the hell out of each other. It had insane psychology and storytelling, and I will talk about it later. It started off with some pretty good technical wrestling, but a not very good selling of the legs limb-work. This is the only problem I saw from the match because it indeed bothered me a little bit. However, everything except for it was just perfect in my eyes. To be honest, this was not even the most important sell-job from the match, the selling at the ending to show the fatigue after a time-limit draw + a double KO was more important, and they NAILED it. Before the match ended, you could feel that one of them was going down at any moment, and both of them went, at the same time, causing it the second draw in a row. This has clear and simple storytelling, but also executed brilliantly. The promo between the time-limit draw and the last 13 minutes was perfect to captivate this feeling. They worked very stiff from start to finish, both girls took some nasty bumps, including some insane head bumps like the German Suplex on the apron or the Air Raid Crash. The brawl on the outside was also very good and believable. It is hard to do a play-by-play on a 45 minute match, but there were a lot of Holy Shit moments and creative moves, some of them I had never seen before it. A classic!"
[10.0] "This match was incredible, though I feel like that still undermines the quality of this match. Syuri is one of the best wrestlers in the world, and I feel like that is an opinion shared among many people, but Utami being able to hang with Syuri not only for the allocated 30 minute time limit, but for nearly 15 minutes after in a secconr round was quite unexpected. The two did a great job of building to the TLD, with masterful technical wrestling taking up a sizeable chunk of time in the opening moments. Utami expertly targetted Syuri's knee, yet Syuri kept firing back with armbar attempts, showing an impressive back and forth dynamic between the two. The final moments saw both women throw absolutely everything at each other, yet that simply wasn't enough, and at the 43 minute mark, they both collapsed, unable to continue. A little neat detail I like from this match is just how far both women went to sell fatigue, with sloppy movements and weak strikes truly giving adding to the realism of this match, not to mention that they had legitimately spent the last 43 minutes beating the piss out of each other. I have no other notes, the 43 minutes simply flew by, and this stands as one of the only "long" matches that I've watched all the way through without getting bored. *****+"

This match is a showcase in in-ring psychology, and specifically both of their great technical wrestling. Utami won me over in this match, and I was rooting for her to win as the champ, even knowing Syuri's story to get there because Utami is just so likable. The striking in this match is superb, and it made this match just that much better. This match truly might be in my top 5 matches ever, even with it's result being a draw."

Watching her break down in tears after the match was heart-wrenching. It was raw, real, and made everything feel even more significant. The action? Pure brutality. Stiff strikes, insane counters, and a relentless pace that made it impossible to look away. The best match of their rivalry, and that's saying a lot considering how many great matches they had. A legendary fight that will be remembered forever."

At that point, what's the point. The match after the draw is fine, but again just kinda going through the motions it seems."

These two women left it all in the ring while I may not be a fan of the finish of double draws the wrestling portion of this match ruled and it certainly lived up to the high expectations I had going in seeing just how highly rated this match is and I can say with full certainty that it deserves the praise it has received this match is the gold standard of women's wrestling and by far the best women's/joshi match I've ever seen."
[10.0] "[5.5*] Phenomenal match, I was surprised by how good this duel was, simply two of the best joshis in the world facing each other. Syuri's kicks were so real and so spectacular. The exchanges between them are incredible and I loved the move that Hayashishita did on Syuri on the apron, a variation of a Deadeye. The match is heading towards the end and the action remains intense and neither of them give up, when the match ends in a draw I was determined to give this match 9/10 but the extra time and everything they did in it was simply perfect, the exchange of slaps between them is very brutal. Syuri's work is stellar, one of the best performances I've ever seen, the submissions and armbars she does are truly insane, Hayashishita always manages to escape and get her foot on the rope, and the nearfalls, all of this generated an emotion and a sensation incredible to have no idea who will win the match. I was truly left without a reaction when Syuri put her hand on the rope after Utami's finisher. The second draw is even more special, it's a match like no other in the history of wrestling, both women exceeded their limits and fought until they couldn't take it anymore, a spectacular match and one of the best experiences I've ever had with wrestling."

This match falls victim to excessive and artificial extension because they were clearly very ambitious but it just resulted in a lot of stalling and dragging that really takes you out. Syuri and Utami are no where near perfect and this really highlights their biggest flaws in pacing as well as timing during certain spots. The biggest praise I can give is that it brought eyes to Stardom and led to their increased fanbase though that could also land as a criticism towards the American womens wrestling scene."

[7.0] "Finally got around to watch the greatest womens match of all time. Did it live up to the hype? Not by a long shot. Did I enjoy it despite its flaws? Yes. Even with all the gripes I have with this match, 44 minutes flew by very quickly. While I will take issue with the way Syuri and Utami structured the match, the pacing was brilliant. All the praise aside this was still marred with the tropes that give modern Japanese epics a bad name. Utami worked on Syuris leg after ramming it into the apron but it went absolutely nowhere. She never went back to work on the leg, nor did Syuri bother to sell any of it. She could still kick as hard as she could before getting her leg got targeted. She could still hit gut busters and feel nothing despite Utamis body landing right on her legs. She could still run and do power moves that require her legs to do tremendous effort, all without having any problems. This trend of inconsistent selling would later continue in every big match Syuri has had since. The biggest thing going for Syuri is her lethal kicks, but you can only do so much of those. There were a lot of control segments and 50/50 move trading that led to nothing. They threw big bombs at each other every other minute after the 20 minute mark but never built up to anything. I did like that these two had enough to patience to sell how lethal the buzzsaw kick is though. Syuri tried it several times but only got to hit it at the very end. All in all, extremely overhyped. Wasnt anywhere near the top of 2021s best matches but still a very good performance by both Utami and Syuri. Even though I thought Utami was pretty much in autopilot during the entire match and has a lot of bad tendencies, shes scary good for how little experience she has."
[10.0] "Yes, this is a New Japan-style main event epic right down to the early limb work that has no impact at all and does not play into the finish (at this point it seems like whining to bring it up as every single promotion does it). But this like a lot of great Stardom main events succeeds where NJPW has become sedentary because both workers do not go out there and act like the goal is to get a star rating from Dave Meltzer. Both women lay into each other with everything because they want to be the champion and that MEANS something, and they are willing to inflict grievous bodily harm to get that belt. The spots here aren't overly elaborate, but they all have an intensity as the women reach into their respective arsenals to overcome their equally tough opponent. This is a great match that ends in another Stardom draw (at some point even kayfabe would demand that the promotion increase their time limits to 60 minutes), but the restart is where this goes from wonderful to transcendent, prompting Syuri and Utami to reach deep into their energy reserves and go into a pure sprint of brutal offense that each sells as completely draining. The double KO makes both look like stars who can carry the whole promotion. The fact that neither is in the top 3 of the roster at the moment is another testament to how Stardom is far and away the best company in Japan right now."

[7.0] "I finally get around to watching the supposed best women's match ever, and yeah it was very good but absolutely nowhere near as amazing as hyped up to be. Even ignoring the limitation of the clap-crowd, I just didn't think there was much especially great about any of the work. They opened up in generic 'epic match' style with a lot of grappling exchanges. The first 10 mins thus had good foundational work but wasn't itself very interesting, but they then picked up their pace and creativity following that, since they knew at that point that about a 1/4th of the match had gone, and that they could therefore justify moving into their more traditionally interesting and exciting interactions. This was initially shown in the form of them going for a leg-targeting story, which was already really weird because it was literally the 3rd leg-targeting story told that night, and just like those previous 2 matches, the leg-targeting here also ended up going absolutely nowhere and never felt like a worthwhile side story. Utami at least worked the leg over with a variety of nice submissions and strikes, and Syuri initially sold really well, but then Syuri pretty quickly gained control and started dominating with all her stiff kicks and impressive submissions, and thus the leg-targeting story never returned. Utami at least sold and bumped really well for all of Syuri's control work then, and she'd hit some nice strikes and power moves of her own in her eventual comeback, with Syuri beginning to take some really nasty, impressive bumps as a result. They were fully in 'big-move trading' territory by the 25-mins mark, having mostly really good chemistry as they went through all their strikes, power moves, and occasionally submissions, but there were definitely times when they looked quite sloppy or overly slow. They upped the intensity and creativity of their big spots and rapid bomb trades following the match restart, but they continued to have noticeable sloppiness in their movements and interactions, resulting in a few would-be "epic" exchanges and individual moves not looking as good as intended. I'd usually be able to ignore that, but for a match *this* highly rated, I have to mention it. At times their poor technique made them look rather amateurish, or at least not at all like the top stars they presented themselves as. Syuri's vicious kicks remained great, and her various arm-submissions all looked really good too, though Utami never bothered to sell at all in the long term (obviously a Stardom staple, sadly). The match also became rather repetitive with how often they both went back to the same sorts of moves without any meaningful changes. They admittedly had some genuinely great, perfectly executed spots/exchanges in the final few mins, but never anything extraordinary. Looking back at my 2021 MOTY list, I'd maybe put this in the top 30 at best, and it wasn't even that great of a year for wrestling. Very good but massively over-hyped. ***3/4"

Syuri vs. Utami Hayashishita was the real reset of stardom to me this match was so important because both was new to stardom and both was shown the past is the past this is their stardom with them leading the way on how matches should go . this match gave Utami Hayashishita a must watch and gave Syuri her top spot in stardom where people need to come to her level even without a title around her waist this why by the end of the year Syuri got the title just to show she was the best in stardom right now"
