[3.0] "Marufuji winning was cool but nearly this whole match was awful in my opinion. It starts off with the usual 10-15 minutes of mat work which leads to nothing. There is some psychology but the execution is so uninteresting. Muto spends so much time laying in figure fours and a plethora of other leg locks which look like they hurt him more than Marufuji. He can still hit dragon screws quickly which is a positive. Marufuji completely no sold the leg work in classic Marufuji fashion. The final stretch with Muto spamming his Shining Wizards which barely graze Marufuji's face which weren't being sold anyway was bad. Marufuji's one of my favorite wrestlers but he phoned it in here. Muto hitting the moonsault out of desperation and getting the big crowd pop was genuinely awesome and the spot of the match. There was a bad finishing sequence with Marufuji spamming those awful superkicks and knees which didn't have any hope of connecting. I guess he was trying not to hurt Muto but you can't suspend your disbelief for how bad that looked. *1/2"

As opponents-for-Muto, I find Shiozaki to share a much-greater chemistry as these co-members of 'M's Alliance' come-off as sharing too-much goodwill. 2"

[8.0] "This is a great match, though I wouldn't say it's as good as the semi-main. Marufuji does great here selling the leg, and in general has great selling throughout the match. Mutoh, on the other hand, does not seem to sell the armwork that Marufuji is giving him. Still, he is able to convince me that he is exhausted during the finish (probably because he is), driving him to his last resort: the moonsault. When that failed, you knew he was done. This match has a good finish and good storytelling, but never quite reaches the levels of something that should be remembered as a classic. With Mutoh's reign over, it is clear that he was very dependent on his opponent: in the three matches with great wrestlers, he had really good matches; in the match with just a good wrestler in Kitamiya, he had a mediocre match. Marufuji was able to dictate the pace here, and delivered a really good title match."

[7.0] "Not a very outstanding main event match but regardless they still did a good job here . Mutoh and Marufuji built this match in a slow and subtle fashion as expected in a main event bout . A good sequence of mat wrestling in the initial moments which was nice to see .They told a decent enough story in this match . Marufuji would focus his attention towards damaging the arm and inflicting pain on it and he would go to work on it immediately . Muto also found his opening and started targeting the leg of Marufuji . The work by both men on the respective body parts was very good but it went nowhere . I also liked the aspect of the story where Mutoh decided to go high risk and hit the moon sault successfully in three years . A 59 year old man doing that is insane and it was highly impressive . Marufuji was very fluid in delivering his offense throughout the match especially with the knees and kicks which is a significant part of his arsenal . It was somewhat hard hitting too , lesser than I would expect a main event to be but it was still good enough . The match had the feel to it , the energy and atmosphere . It lacked the fire in my opinion but you can only get enough out of a 59 year old Mutoh with all due respects to the legend but he is not the same at 59 as expected . I think the match was despite its flaws a engaging one and the outcome made me even more excited for what the future holds for Marufuji . It had sound psychology too , it should have been more developed but I am satisfied with what was presented . It had a few sloppy moments but other than that it was a good match overall. It had a fine pace and good amount of momentum too . The drama that should have been built in this match was missing . No element of surprise or the moments that would make one mark out or lose their mind .I just felt it was lacking that luster considerably by a lot . Despite , its short comings I really enjoyed it and it still deserves a watch . ***3/4"

[7.0] "While I was expecting the previous match to be MOTN, I had a feeling this would be a really bad one. I was proved wrong in both occasions. Mutoh's reign has been... Controversial, to say the least. Some people absolutely loved it; others, specially longtime NOAH fans who really enjoyed Kiyomiya and Shiozaki as champions, hated it. I'm on the opinion that Mutoh has been giving some of his best performances in years, but that doesn't mean he is main event material (and I'm really not going to rant about the politics involved in his booking, given this is not the place for that). This performance in particular summed up every other recent Mutoh match: lots of chain wrestling (in which Mutoh still excels, at least), overreliance on his opponent, the almost formulaic "Mutoh moments" (the Mutoh lock, the figure four, elbow drop, etc), you know the drill. And, yes, there's the so talked about moonsault: as it has been revealed, Mutoh is retiring this move for good and this match really shows why. It was unecessary, very obviously painful to his body and, frankly, people are raving it more for the fact that Mutoh was able to do it one last time than because it really added to the match, so, all that talk, IMO, is pointless. Now, that doesn't mean the match was bad, and that's mainly on Marufuji: whilst he's not in his best shape either, he can work very well around his limitations and lead a match like this to a better result. His chain wrestling with Mutoh looked really good, but since it didn't really build up too much (as if both men got instant healed from the stretches everytime they took the hands off each other), it very much looked like filler - yet, some nice looking filler. The more hard hitting spots looked better, with both men selling well for each other. The move sequence, in general, was very logical and, aside from the moonsault, there was no unecessary flashiness. All in all, this is probably the best match in Mutoh's reign and, thankfully, his last one. That said, this is not the kind of match that should be on the top billing of a event like this."

It was an important match, especially for Muto who put everything on the line for the victory with that moonsault, but still lost. This is a really unique moment in wrestling, and we should appreciate it. Keiji is a legend. I hope to see a lot of interesting feuds with him in the future. This match showed that no matter what shape you are in, what matters is your intelligence and your ability to tell a story in the ring. Both veterans were brilliant here. Thank you for truly great reigh, Muto. And good luck, Marufiji."

While Marufuji vs Mutoh sounds great on paper, Mutoh in 2020-2021, hasn't been it, and that match was the perfect example of it. Marufuji did his best, but Mutoh in 2021 is like Taker ever since his match with Punk, he hasn't been good, but hopefully with the title change, Marufuji will continue what Shiozaki did before dropping the title to Mutoh, which means, giving MOTYC. **"

[6.0] "To me, it didn? t live up to what a premier championship bout should be. For me, it? s just difficult on so many levels to watch a 58-year-old man working as a champion, even if he is a legend. His title reign has been unremarkable and this match was a perfect example of that. The mat wrestling of the first part felt like forever and it just wasn? t believable to me, specially when they worked the legs, with so many openings for neck cranks and things like that. Knowing what we know now with MMA and other grappling contests, it? s just not working for me, at least. Also, being accustomed to the great pace of matches that we see nowadays, this match had two many rest spots but, again, what could we expect? It could be a slow burn of a match, with a better story, but I don? t think Muto wants to do it. The only thing that keeps me from rating it lower is the performance of Marufuji. I thought he did well, given the circumstances."

[8.0] "Muto can't really move that well and his cardio is failing, Marufuji hasn't been that good since 2015 due to his body being shot to pieces. I haven't really seen the golden age of Muto and his greatest matches so I don't have fanboy glasses on. Still they had a really intriguing match. If I look at this match purely from workrate, moves or how good the pure wrestling was, it would get a good rating from me. But how I see this match is that it was the perfect match between two broken down men, who built the match around the idea that everyone in the audience knows it. The work in the match was good, the reaction from the crowd toward the moonsault was great, also it was the point when I realized that Muto will drop the belt. Marufuji can't go that well and in perfect world it would have been someone younger that could go that would have taken the belt off Muto. So now hopefully we can put the Muto Experience past us and move forward with NOAH, forward into NOAH that was 2020 with Go Shiozaki. 8/10"

[10.0] "A very underrated match. I myself am skeptical about the matches of the elderly Muto, but this match is beautiful. A great story with lots of small details. Marufuji was ready to go all the way and he survived all of Muto's signature moves. A desperate Keiji goes all-in and perform his Muta-moonsalt, but Marufuji survived it too! At this point, Muto had actually lost, having spent all his strength on this maneuver. Marufuji just had to finish off the champion, which he did with the help of his new finisher. He didn't use Misawa's Emerald Flowsion. He is finally letting go of the past and is ready to lead NOAH into the future. A future that will not be just a tribute to the past. Rating: ****3/4"

[8.0] "It's difficult to rate this match, it was sloppy, slow and Muto absolutely dragged Marufuji down here by forcing him to work even slower than his already slowing and broken down body currently does. I wince and cringe every time I see him botch the emerald flowsion and kind of feel bad for the commentators (who did a fantastic job)at trying to make Muto's rest holds and snail's pace seem devastating and yet somehow I kind of enjoyed it. The moonsault was absolutely epic, I have watched it a dozen times and wish they had used that spot for him to win a match. I said in my rating of the Shiozaki match that if Muto hits a moonsault this will be all worth it and it kind of was. I hope he doesn't have another reign but I wouldn't rule it out. Credit to Mutoh though, I can't say I wasn't excited for every one of these title matches. He is a legend."

A thousand dragon screws in nearly half an hour that felt like it was double the length only to be completely no sold entirely. Muto brought out the Moonsault only to have it get kicked out of. Shiozaki's incredible title reign was wasted for a vanity reign that buried the youngest top star they have, and then is dropped to someone else who doesn't need the rub whatsoever. Everything wrong you could do in a big time match was solidified with this match."

Marufuji isn't what he used to be, but he can still go to a degree. It is a shame that Mutoh's reign did not end with a rub for a person who needed it. Marufuji is a legend who doesn't need it at all. Whatever, at least Mutoh's mini-reign of terror is done."

Later in the match though they were legitimately being used to rest, and Mutoh needed to snap himself awake in a figure four. The closing sequences and counters were really good, and the crowd reaction to the moonsault was the moment of the show."

The wrestling part isn't that great even if it's good, but this match brings emotions and tells a story like only a few matches can. Muto's moonsault was the best moment of the night, and I think that this performance from Muto is the best we've seen for a long time and a perfect way to end his illustrious career. Marufuji was amazing but that shouldn't shock anyone. The finish is a little bit flat imo, Marufuji won with a high knee, a move that he did a lot of times during the match. ****"

[10.0] "A damn masterpiece and the best match on the show. Everything in this match was good. It started out as a standard classic, but was remembered for the really significant moments that made it great. Muto was on top, I always wonder who is better for me, Jun or Keiji, but every time I am left confused, because they always surprise and amaze with the depth of their in-ring IQ and the dedication of a real warrior. Muto worked great on Marufuji's legs, trying to stop him and not let him win the obvious superiority in speed and agility, Keiji is aware of the limitations of his conditions and wants to kill him, which is incredibly difficult for him. And I really don't care if Muto is selling, or if he is really tired to the point of losing his pulse and breathing hard, but it plays perfectly on the perception and I feel the importance, significance and exhaustion of the title match, which is very important for the main event. When Keiji realizes that all or nothing, he decides on a desperate act and... Holy shit, this is the best illustration of the concept of "high risk" in professional wrestling! The wrestler is exhausted, he is jaded, he realizes that he will not defeat Naomichi in such a situation, and then he decides to go to moonsault and do it! Muto loses his remaining stamina with the thought that either he is now pinning Marufuji or he loses his remaining stamina and loses. The second option happened and it raised the match in my eyes even higher. People no longer appreciate such moments, but for the industry they are of great importance. Where a 58-year-old man, risking his life, makes a moonsault, someone's love for professional wrestling is necessarily born. Thank you for a great and very underrated reign, Muto! (*****)"

Man, after Muto made Marufuji submit on the Misawa Memorial I thought to myself that this would be a sign that Marufuji could win the belt in the Cyber Fight Festival, but it was a 50% scenario, because he's facing a legend in Keiji Muto, which for me would have a long reign with the Title. But oh boy, Marufuji has done it and I'm happy for the man to hold this new GHC Heavyweight belt which can be his last reign with it. The storytelling in the match was great, there was some botches here and there and I was pleased in seeing Muto's Moonsault. I couldn't believe it when I saw it. What a match!"

But after the previous 4 matches were an absolute hit, this came off lacklustre by comparison. The mat work was dire. I can't lie. Utter dross, slow and boring work from Marufuji and Mutoh on both sides of the table. The only bright spark was Mutoh hitting the Dragon Screws, which he can still do rather quickly. The spot of the match was Mutoh leaning on the ropes as Marufuji attempted a Springboard Dropkick and then hit a Dragon Screw with Marufuji tied up in the ropes. That's a genius spot among the sterileness that was this match. At least, Mutoh showed that he could hit the Moonsault and it gained a surprising nearfall as Marufuji was able to kick out. The closing stretch was okay. Marufuji hit many crescent kicks and knee strikes before getting the shock win to end the match. I hated this, but I'll be generous. **"
