[8.0] "BJ Whitmer vs. Necro Butcher in this barbed wire deathmatch is a harrowing spectacle that pushes the limits of hardcore wrestling. From the outset, the brutality is immediate, with both men subjected to chairs, barbed wire, and tacks, often bare-chested, creating sequences that are almost disturbing in their intensity. Whitmer's resilience shines throughout, repeatedly surviving piledrivers, brainbusters, and even a DVD through a barbed wire table, and the final stretch with tacks and ladders is a testament to both men's toughness and commitment to the violent storytelling. While the match succeeds as a hardcore stunt show, far surpassing previous ROH hardcore efforts in sheer audacity, the psychological depth and personal intensity seen in classics like Corino vs. Homicide are less present here. Whitmer and Necro deliver an undeniably gutsy performance, but their charisma and storytelling can't fully match the legendary hatred and emotional weight of the earlier bouts. Still, this serves as a fitting, memorable capstone to the ROH/CZW feud, cementing Whitmer's career-defining moment. ****"
[7.0] "Good action and fun hardcore match but as a "no rope barbed wire" it was incredibly tame, and cumbersome match - the no rope barbed wire set up was barely used, the finish alone had nothing to do with it. There are some good and crazy moments but as a whole it just lacked that, that final wow factor. It almost would have been best pitched as a texas death match and let the weapons just be apart of it but I guess that doesn't have the aura and appeal of a promised no rope barbed wire match. Good for what it was, but not the greatness it should have been."

[9.0] "A completely insane, bloody, ultraviolent war. I always thought it was weird they did this after the big ROH-CZW blowoff, but better late than never I suppose. Besides all the crazy spots, I came away from this really impressed with the psychology of the match and how well-structured it was. The match starts fairly slow with both guys being extra careful not to touch the barbed wire, which really built up the drama and suspense of who was going to get stuck in the barbed wire first. There were also barbed wire boards and barbed wire tables set-up around the ring, which added more suspense because you knew they were going to come into play at some point in the match, but you didn't know when. They built up towards each big spot really well, and when they finally used the weapons, they made sure to take their time and sell, getting the maximum reaction out of each spot. Necro, being the veteran of death matches, always seemed to have the advantage, but eventually Whitmer learns to power through and adapt to his environment in order to win."
