AJ Styles and Kurt Angle were feuding around this time, so it makes sense that they would team up with two of the upcoming names of New Japan around this time, with Hiroshi Tanahashi teaming with Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura teaming with Angle. There isn't much to say about this match other than it was fun. Fun fact, Kurt Angle had lost the IWGP Third Belt Championship in a unification against Nakamura and his IWGP Heavyweight Championship earlier that year. Not only that, but here he pinned Tanahashi to get the win and the following year, Angle challenged Tanahashi for the IWGP title. ***1/2"
[8.0] "Very fun tag match from the two teams here, giving us four classic matchups between competitors. There are many moments of four in the ring, but we get to see some great stuff from everybody including a bump to the outside over the top rope from Styles. Angle powers this one home for his team for the finish; good match would watch again."
[7.0] "Wenn man bedenkt wer diese 4Leute sind die sich hier gegenüber standen und vorallem was sie leisten können dann fragt man sich schon warum das nicht das erwartete 5* Match geworden ist..... Es war aufjedenfall nicht schlecht... Aber man hat mehr erwartet"
[6.0] "Wenn man bedenkt, wer sich hier gegenüber gestanden hat, dann war das Ergebnis doch ziemlich mau. Vllt wäre in Single Matches mehr bei herum gekommen."
[5.0] "Wenn man sich überlegt was hier für ein Talent und Können im Ring steht, bin ich doch recht enttäuscht. Ich mag diese amerikanisch-japanischen Kolloberationen, aber man muss auch sagen, dass es relativ häufig nicht Klick macht. So auch hier nicht. Die Chemie stimmt einfach nicht. Ich vermute, dass es teilweise auch an Kommunikationsbarrieren liegt. AJ Styles hat keinen guten Tag erwischt und botcht gleich 3 mal bei seinen Trademark-Moves. Einzig seiner schöner Dive nach draußen bleibt in Erinnerung. Auch Angle und Tanahashi harmonieren nicht so gut miteinander, wie ich es mir vorgestellt hatte. Am Ende bleiben ein paar coole Aktionen und eine wirklich exotische Matchansetzung."
[6.0] "Also gerade wenn man bedenkt, welche 4 Wrestler sich hier gegenüber standen, bin ich doch etwas enttäuscht, dass nur ein ganz nettes Match dabei herauskam. Alle 4 dürfen ein paar schöne Aktionen zeigen (wobei AJ hier ungewohnt oft patzt), aber richtige Spannung wollte bei mir nicht aufkommen."
[8.0] "War in etwa auf einer Stufe mit dem Tag Match vom Vortag. Anfangs plätschert das Match vor sich hin, kaum etwas Besonderes dabei, dann komt man aber zum Ende hin in eine tolle Schlussphase, bei welcher vor allem die Chemie zwischen Tanahashi und Angle bemerkenswert ist. Styles hat keinen guten Tag erwischt, spielt aber während des Finish keine große Rolle, sodass es nicht verwunderlich ist, dass dieses mit Sicherheit zu gefallen weiß. Gut, aber nicht mehr."
