[2.0] "This era of Piper was such a bummer. The most exciting thing here was what looked like a fight going on somewhere in the crowd. Bret working fake injury angle was a joke as well. There was nothing here but kicks and punches and as hard as they tried people just did not want to view Bret as the heel they hoped. Toss in a stupid Ed Sasso angle and we have a big old dud."
[4.0] "This was kind of mediocre. 7 years earlier, Bret Hart and Roddy Piper put on a clinic at WrestleMania VIII for the Intercontinental Championship. Here in early 1999, Bret Hart was still great in the ring and was the United States Champion, but he was horribly miscast as a heel, or at least his heel run in WCW. Piper was not in peak physical condition, although he could still move around alright. The main issue with this match is that while it wasn't horrible, it wasn't the most exciting match either. It was mostly just brawling with a little bit of wrestling, and the match was more about telling the story of a fake groin injury than putting on a great match. I think if Bret was the babyface and Piper was either face or heel, the dynamic would have been much better. **"
