[7.0] "Good match with a simple and effective story. What really made this match for me was how invested the Chicago crowd became in Lynn as the match progressed. They really wanted him to pull of the upset. Some parts of the match were slightly awkward (particularly the finish), but Lynn showed that he was still capable of hanging with the younger generation in ROH."

[7.0] "A heck of a match! Two of the best of their respective eras going at it in a compelling clash of styles and philosophies. Jerry Lynn proving that he could still compete at the highest possible level despite being past his prime. Nigel McGuinness in the midst of one of the greatest World Title reigns of our time, if not all time. Phenomenal counters, genuine suspense, and some of the most convincing near falls I can remember seeing. Lynn did a fantastic job of bridging the gap between generations from a stylistic perspective, which should be no surprise considering he helped create the blueprint for modern wrestling. McGuinness was a dastardly heel with a genuine claim for being the best wrestler in the world. That came together in a symphony of suspense. I had moments where my rating could have been lower, but this built and built until it paid off in a major way. Through a through, a damn good match. 3.75 stars, 7.5 out of 10."

[8.0] "Lynn definitely looked good here for a guy nearly a decade past his prime. Nigel couldn't put him away with the lariat or the Tower of London and, in the end, had to resort to what amounts to a fluke to get the win."
