4 | 09.05.2021 | CyberVoltes | 7.0 | In many ways, the in-ring work of this match seems like a better version of the one from Chris Dickinson vs. Jeff Cobb (Bloodsport 4). I still think Cobb's style doesn't translate too well for this kind of match, but he did put his amateur wrestling background to better use here, with the holds and chain wrestling. Tom Lawlor fought like one would expect, trying to pull off submissions left and right and pulling some strikes for good measure. Most of the time, it did really feel like Lawlor would have the upper hand, in that regard. However, Cobb wins again in underwhelming fashion. I mean... A full nelson? Really? It would've at least made sense if the match ended with the series of suplexes he pulled or if he just broke Lawlor's last hold and suplexed him once more. Wrapping it up, comparing to Cobb's previous match, the action was better, but the ending was worse. It's worth to watch mostly due to Lawlor's performance, though. |
