[7.0] "This match is dominated by clumsy parts designed for Vince's savage strikes, however it has some highlights like Zach's moonsault or dropkick. Perfectly told story about underdog who unfortunately isn't able to reach his goal."
[6.0] "Technically nothing amazing with a weak finish but the storytelling was fantastic and it was well-paced and planned out. Vince gets huge heel heat throughout, his facial expressions, taunts and the little things are all done so well. He is an expert at bringing the crowd on a ride and getting them hot for this match, they go wild for Zach's comeback"
[4.0] "14 minutes. 14 whole minutes. You could have told this story pretty well in 6 but it's a Vince match so I guess it's to be expected. Zach does a good job here, hit's some impressive looking offence but Vince's heat sections are boring and go on for so long, posturing around with his weird shaped chest like he just wandered out of a Rob Liefeld comic. Point's for Zach Gowen and the lovely response he got after the match from the crowd, Vince looking so juiced up it's hilarious and for that chair shot and the subsequent blood, would have been a killer ending if Zach pinned him after that but instead we got a really stupid finish with Zach F5ing himself off the top turnbuckle and getting pinned."
[6.0] "Zach Gowen really impressed me during this match, he was doing some really cool moves and was selling great with just one leg. The crowd was also really into this match. This told a good underdog story."
[3.0] "Not a very good match at all, it's slightly entertaining but pretty ridiculous. In theory it's an underdog story with a courageous hero and it probably worked better in 2003, but it just came off quite cheesy here to me. Gowen is able to do some pretty spectacular stuff on one leg, but after his initial shine Vince takes over with several minutes of working Zach's only leg just for him to pop back up and do one-legged dropkicks and flips and simply grabbing his leg afterwards. Couple the unfeasible story this match tells with an incredibly flat finish and you get a pretty bad result. Vince immediately pouring blood after a chairshot was pretty funny but I wonder if he went too far and had to go home early."
[6.0] "Crowd was into it and Zach sold his ass off. Vince in 2003 was just fucking insufferable though and I find this all ridiculous. And just now knowing the kind of person Vince is (I was a kid when this originally aired), makes it all weirder. But the crowd liked it and Zach was great so I'll give it a 6."
[7.0] "Well I'll be damned, they really made it work. They told a fantastic underdog story here and they really made you think that Gowen might just pull it off. Vince was on another level here as a heel - his facials and bumps were great, plus he knew how to lead the match. They didn't make it insulting to the intelligence, because Zach was getting his offense due to Vince underestimating him and these were only spurds. The crowd ate it up, they were rooting for Zach and the standing ovation after the match was nice to see."
[5.0] "Cole and Tazz do a good job explaining how Gowen not having a second leg makes it hard for him to get leverage. Vince was playing the cocky heel so well and boy does he bleed a gusher."
[4.0] "In terms of storytelling, this match is great. Vince almost reaches new levels of low in kayfabe during this feud, and Gowen really feels like such a heroic underdog that almost anyone can root for. And they both played that role perfectly during the match. The match itself wasn't horrible, but definitely wasn't really good. It actually starts out pretty decent but loses it from there. Vince dominates the early match and plays up the heel work. But this goes on for quite a while. Then Gowen makes a comeback, but there are some awkward moments. When he dropkicks the chair, Vince knelt down for no reason for Gowen to hit him with it. Then the finish was horribly weak. Gowen misses a top rope move and Vince just rolls overs him. After all of that fight, he essentially beats himself after missing a move...? Just...not a great way to close this after a sort of bland, alternating-ly one sided match. The match is entertaining, and maybe better than you might expect, but the storyline is much more memorable than the match."
[6.0] "Better match than I expected. Vince McMahon is the perfect villain as Zach Gowen's first PPV opponent. Gowen's offense looks pretty decent considering his obvious limitations and Vince controlling the match by targeting the leg was smart, but that did go a little long. Loved the spot with the chair with Vince just bleeding everywhere (I get the feeling he bladed too deep there) but I felt the finish was a little flat."
[2.0] "I found this match unengaging, and unfortunately, the wrestlers didn't do much to change that. It dragged on for what felt like an eternity, and while I had hoped to see some impressive moves from Gowen, Vince's sloppy offense repeatedly disrupted the flow of the match. Overall, I was left feeling disappointed and uninterested."
[6.0] "This was a good match that kept the crowd engaged. Vince was the perfect villain for a young wrestler with a story like Gowen. I've never really understood some of the negativity about Zach. There are obviously a lot of limitations to how you can use him, but a lot of what he does in the ring is pretty remarkable. What lets this down for me is that the finish is really quite lame and anticlimactic. It felt like the match was a lot of build with no real payoff at the end. At least we get to see Vince bleed buckets, even if it is brief."
[4.0] "This was honestly fine even if I despise the storyline between the two. Vince logically targets Gowens leg, even though it felt like his heat segment was going on forever. Gowen honestly has some decent-looking offense even if he has one leg. The crowd was also really into this.**1/4"
[6.0] "It sounded tragic in theory, but in practice it turned out to be good. Certainly it is not entertainment for everyone and not everyone will like it, but I did. Zach Gowen is the perfect face and underdog due to his disability. And Vince McMahon is the perfect heel. Plus, Zach is much better in the ring than you might think. I recommend to watch."
[5.0] "Definitely one of the most pleasantly unexpected matches from which you don't expect anything. Vince played the heal perfectly in the match, perfectly presented Zach as the underdog, but Gowen, despite his disability, worked wonders in the ring, but the end of the match slightly spoiled the impression."
[4.0] "Surprising affair for a McMahon-focused angle that stole away momentum from Gowen's underdog story, in which Vince beat Zach up for good without any interference and put him in his place."
[5.0] "This was actually an above average match. The crowd was very invested, Zack played a great underdog while Vince was the asshole heel. Nothing amazing, but at least good enough to where I was entertained by it. Could've been shorter though. **1/2"
