[7.0] "This was a pretty good match. Rey Mysterio was on commentary and had been going after Matt Hardy and the Cruiserweight Championship for a while. Matt's Version 1.0 gimmick was great stuff, making him stand out at a time when Smackdown didn't have the United States Championship yet. Chris Benoit wasn't doing too much at the time, but still gave it his all no matter what. This match may have been short, but they didn't have any wasted motion as it was pretty much all action. Crash and Shannon Moore were their too and they did interfere once early in the match. They tried again later after Benoit hit the headbutt from the top turnbuckle, but then Rey took both of them out of the equation. Left 1 on 1, Matt went for a Twist of Fate, but Benoit countered into a Crippler Crossface for the submission win. ***1/2"
[8.0] "Chris Benoit at his best can make anyone look like they are an in ring master. This was no different and the match was perfect. I loved the interferences and the link-up to the next match right away."
[7.0] "Benoit at his best, Matt in one of his best gimmick and a story of his continues feud with Rey has a great match worth rewatching if you want to see the best of Matt Hardy Version 1."
[7.0] "This was another really strong matchup with these two having styles that worked really well together. Matt Hardy reversal of the sleeper into the back suplex was really impressive. Eventually Rey takes out the minions and Benoit wins."
[7.0] "You really couldn't go wrong with a Chris Benoit match on Smackdown at that point and this match is another exciting hard hitting bout against Matt Hardy. Really entertaining with Matt Hardy using his run-in buddies to his advantage until Rey Mysterio got involved and his spot was great!"
[9.0] "Pretty great TV match actually, WWE was losing interest in Matt Hardy at this point but he was still doing good work, and if you match him up with Benoit in this era of course you're gonna get something really good."
