It was clear neither guy was wanting to go all out as they would both be participating in a survivor series match in just under a week after this bout. Instead, they played by the numbers, with Shawn getting his offense in early on only to be cut off by Orton. After a referee bump, Michaels is able to use a chair that Orton introduced to give himself the advantage and subsequent victory. Nothing much to say about this. Not one to go out of your way to watch.**1/2 |

At no point does Randy look lost, out of place or grasping to hang. Everything here seems more natural and it's not harmed much by being rather quick and direct. The ref bump was very well done and I loved the use of the chair at the end. I liked all of this, two more minutes would have gone a long way but we'll get that later in time. 6.25 |

Again it was effective booking to keep the Austin vs Bischoff storyline cooking as well as giving Shawn Michaels some momentum for the Survivor Series. |
