[4.0] "Yet another rather lackluster match until the final seconds. Both men were capable of far better, as evidenced by their rivalry just a few months prior. In-ring quality: 0.75/5. Stakes: 0.75/2. Justification: 1/1. Placement on the card: 1/1. Suspense: 1/1. Bonus/penalty: none. Total: 4.5/10. Match watched on the WCW YouTube channel."

[6.0] "Like Luger and Sting, not the best that these two guys could do against each other, but it's just sweet to see them in action against each other. They move differently, there's an explosiveness, even the strikes are done with a certain panache that stands out on this show. It sticks out in a positive fashion, even for a match that doesn't blow things away star ratings wise as it's relatively short and they keep a lot of clubs in the bag. ***"

He was good here for the 8 minutes or so, but outside of a couple of nice spots Sting was really lethargic, I'm not sure he's injured or really saving himself for the Flair match. I don't know, weird one."

Muta was still incredible to watch, as his body language alongside the cold stare were giving such a different vibe than anything else. Some nice spots and transitions all around and a decent involvement from the crowd."

[6.0] "This was solid, but definitely not as good as their match at The Great American Bash. The action was all enjoyable, but much as with every other match on this card they are hamstrung by the tournament format. I also find it pretty underwhelming how badly Muta gets shafted in this tournament - first losing in short order to Flair, and now being defeated handily by a superplex. It definitely feels strange to see after how strong he has previously looked during this run."

Sting avoided it, but The Great Muta landed on his feet, and performed a spin kick. The Great Muta climbed the turnbuckles, but Sting performed a dropkick and a superplex. Sting then pinned The Great Muta to win the match"
