However, WWE's camera direction and editing from this era is absolutely dreadful and was one of the big reasons I fell off watching them circa 2019... and it is still really, really bad in 2021."
[9.0] "On paper, this is one of the stranger WrestleMania main events. There's not a huge amount of story to tie all these people together, any sort of 'dream match' appeal, or any major history they have with each other. Edge has his comeback story, but really that's about it? Despite this, it ends up being one of the more entertaining WrestleMania title matches. It's not a particularly deep match, but there's more-or-less constant action and everybody feels like they embody their role very well. I especially enjoyed how the sense of physicality increased as the match went on. The finish is great - very memorable, and gave Roman something that he could crow about for years. In this respect, it would be hard to argue that this match was anything other than a success, as it achieved everything that it needed to pretty much perfectly. Just a straight up fun main event, and sometimes that's all you really need."
[9.0] "After three straight horrible main events, Roman Reigns finally proves why he should have been that long-ass title holder. I don't think this reaches the peaks of his previous, but from a technical and storytelling standpoint, this match is a damn good one. I love that end visual of Roman staking and pinning both men to just show off his true dominance. I think the best moment of the match is watching Edge and Daniel Bryan both try to submit Roman at the same time, and then just headbutting each other to try and break each other's hold. I'm happy Roman retained so that we would eventually get Roman vs Rhodes (both parts) at Wrestlemania, but I wouldn't have been upset with either winning. Bryan had been very underutilized since his previous title win, like 2 years before, and Edge had just made his triumphant return to wrestling so a win for either man could have made for an excellent story."
[8.0] "Let's be honest, this is a substandard WrestleMania main event when it comes to hype and storyline. Sure, it's a cool match-up, but it lacks depth and it feels kinda random. With that being said, they mesh well together, and it's still a banger. It's chaotic from the get-go, it's action-packed with slick sequences and good spots. I was loving the finishing stretch with that brilliant double submission on Roman, but then Jey comes back and saves Roman's ass (again), and it's a bummer. Roman's emphatic double pin is a statement, but it's also tarnished by him needing help to stay on top. Strong main event regardless. ****"
[9.0] "Every person in this match plays their role perfectly. Crowd was really wanting Edge to win the title back so much they weren't into Daniel Bryan as they usually would be. Stack 'em Pin 'em. Roman's title reign continues. ****1/2"
[6.0] "Big time three way main events are often not too interesting for me and this was no exception. The interference from Jey Uso was also disappointing and made for a fairly flat finish. There was a lack of moments which allowed you to get behind a face before the heel finish"
[8.0] "It was really smooth and great, Edge did better than usual considering how his matches can be slow early. Bryan and Reigns were also great, the 3 of them worked well together. It was a really good main event, I will however take away some points due to the second part of the match being too slow at times, but most importantly because of the Jey Uso interference. This sucked a lot, once again some Bloodline shenanigans."

"Definitely had a big fight feel. The aura of Roman reigns, the amazing worker in Bryan and the legend and hype of edge winning the rumble means an exciting match. Looking back it's amazing seeing as we know what happens later on in Roman's reign. Bryan felt out of place at first in this match but it's Bryan so of course he delivers. The in ring work of Edge , whilst slightly sloppy at parts, he really hadn't missed a mark. A lot of this match is the triple threat I don't like. I don't like when one man is out whilst two are in the ring fighting. I think it's much more exciting when they make use of the gimmick to create new exciting moments. A lot of this match is the type of triple threat I don't like with fun, triple threat moves at the big moments. There is often a misconception that reigns isn't a good wrestler. Whilst he isn't doing flips he is an amazing athlete who sells moves amazingly and his kick outs are the best in the business tied with the undertaker. Bryan makes use of signature offence in this match and hyping up the crowd a lot more than the others which is unexpected and of course he is used as the energetic underdog for this one. Edges spear off the steps was surprisingly impactful for edge and a big moment in the match. The use of counters and near falls is incredible. And of course the double stack pin at the end is iconic. Great match"
[9.0] "This match was MOTN, it had great in-ring from three of the greatest in WWE's long history and one of WWE's best Mania main events. I loved how they threw in Danielson because he's the best wrestler in the world, and even though he ate the pin, he still elevated the match heavily. The finish where ROman pins both Edge and Bryan at the same time was also amazing. Overall a really fun match that I recommend."
[8.0] "[4.0*] I thought this match was awesome to watch. Such an easy-watch match with literally zero seconds of boringness, in a fast paced action with a ton of spots and sequences. Edge was near perfect on this one, giving it a lot of heat with his incredible facial expressions, doing crazy spots like the spear on the ringside and the submission with the piece of the chair, and he was the one responsible of starting the ending strech, because everybody knows that the con-chair-to is his thing. Bryan accelerated the pace with all his agility and explosiveness, while Roman was presented as the Final Boss that only appeared on the big moments, something I think was a huge W. Despite liking all these things, I think the ending simply sucked, and Roman should have won pinning both guys by himself because he is that guy. The Jey Uso return ruined the vibe."
[10.0] "Looking back at it now, this is my favorite match of Reigns title reign. Very good in ring, good story, and the fact that, at the time, we still believed tht the title could switch hands at any time made it a very suspenful match."

I don't see how this has gotten such a high rating from everyone. What about this match is that good? It really is pretty slow and these fucken guys are lying around all the time doing nothing besides looking at each other shitty. If this is one of the best matches Roman's got, then I guess I'm in for a rough time trying to check out all his best matches."
[5.0] "So close to being a fun, decent match but I'm going to take way some points for the really stupid bloodline interference. I don't care if Roman is a heel, I don't care if the match is no DQ, interference in a match like this thats supposed to make me acknowledge Roman or whatever makes him seem like he can't win without the help of overbooking."
[9.0] "A near-perfect dance between three men who are all legends in their own right. There's something so moving about the desperation by Edge and Bryan here. Two men who, at the top of their game, had to retire and it seemed they may never step inside of a ring again. Now, here they are with a chance to become a world champion here again. Throughout the match, it's clear that both men will go to any length to win and that Reigns will do whatever he must to knock them both down and protect his crown. There are times here where Roman feels like an afterthought and I actually enjoy this more because of it. Not in a negative way, of course. Just these moments where it feels like either Edge or Bryan is so close to finally doing it and then, just when he was out of sight and out of mind, Reigns comes in and stomps that hope to the ground. Truly an all-timer Wrestlemania main event. ****1/2"
[9.0] "WrestleMania main events over the year have ranged from all-time duds to all-time classics. This was one of the classics. A fantastic triple threat with an abundance of highlights and a blurring of the heel/face dynamic. Both Edge and Bryan were faces here but they both resorted to heel tactics at times. I loved this because it made the title feel more important. The finish was iconic with Roman's smash 'em, stack 'em & pin 'em. My only nitpick would be that they tried to portray Roman as dominant with that finish except they had Jey Uso save the match for him. And Bryan was knocked out from what Edge did to him when Roman pinned him."
[10.0] "One of the best matches of Roman's career, and it's not just because he has the two seasoned ring-generals of Bryan and Edge with him. At the time of the match, Roman was at a cross-roads: does he drop the belt after a respectable 200 days carrying it, or does he go on the generational title run? We all know the option taken, and the rest is history. Roman made one promise before the match - "I'mma smash 'em, I'mma stack 'em, I'mma pin 'em, one, two, three" - and he did exactly that. My only gripe with the match is that it didn't see the debut of the Succession-esque theme song that would make him a legend - that would come a couple of weeks later - but that's a small gripe. As it stands, one of the best Mania main events of the 2000s."
[10.0] "I just re watched this match and holy cow this match is so good there are some great spots in this match especially the chair piece crossface this match also is very well pace this is one of the best wrestlemania main events ever and is so fun to watch. This match is also the match the solidified roman reigns title reign also this match was not predictable like a lot of roman title matches. *****"
[6.0] "Definitely an above average match but there aren't any real false-finishes and Jey Uso's involvement from the very beginning didn't make anyone look stronger. When either of the 3 were locked in a submission, there was never a real belief that Roman would lose the championship. Maybe when Edge was able to lock in a crossface using the chair leg there was a sliver of a chance Roman could tap, but it wasn't convincing enough to put this match above Cody vs. Roman from WrestleMania 39. Edge looked pretty dumb for not trying to pin D. B. after smashing his head with a chair. The continuous headbutts when they D. B. and Edge locked in their finisher looked really silly. It wasn't that brutal of a match either besides the D. B. powerbomb table spot. The image of Roman stacking both men was cool because it hadn't really been done before and to see it in the main event of WrestleMania made the moment bigger, as it was foreshadowing the dominance that was on the way."
[10.0] "Couldn't ask for a better WrestleMania Main Event. Three of the biggest names in wrestling going at it for the WWE Universal Championship in a chaotic match. Really fun to watch from the moment the bell rang, Jey Uso at ringside really added a good element. Reigns pinning both Bryan & Edge at the end was a powerful statement. Not the best WrestleMania Main Event of all time but it's absolutely worth going out of your way to watch it."

Then there's the match, which is a genuine 4.5 to 4.75 star affair before Jey comes back for some reason, and the air gets sucked out with the anticlimactic ending of "Roman wins lol." And then there's the camera work. Holy hell, it's actually awful. The shakiness, terrible zooms, and constant cuts made this really hard to watch sometimes. In the end, This was three men having a once in a lifetime quality WreslteMania main event knocked down three steps because of WWE's overdone production and poor booking. A tale as old as time It would seem. 3.5 Stars."
[10.0] "at the time this was EASILY the best roman reigns wrestlemania match since 31 vs brock and seth. only took him 6 goddamn years to put on another belter. so many banger spots from the get go: the edge-cution on the steel steps outside to jey uso, edge going ham on roman tossing him around on the outside, all the frantic energy i love out of a triple threat match. michael cole's snickers advert almost ruining daniel's diving headbutt spot was fuckin stupid and hilarious. absolutely brutal powerbomb from roman on daniel thru the announce table before leading into a surprise spear from edge was a lovely bit of camerawork. adored edge using the broken chair leg while locking roman in the crossface, not sure if that was improv but if it was it's a great call and iconic visual. almost as iconic as daniel also locking in the yes lock at the same time before getting into a headbutt duel with edge, best spot of the match by far. unhinged edge is best edge, unleashing spear after spear keeping both men down for con-chairtos before jey runs in setting up roman for a con-chairto of his own and stacking edge on top of daniel for the win. loved this loved this loved this. ****3/4"

The fans are all for Edge and boos Reigns. The last 5 minutes are fantastic. The finish is huge in showing Reigns' supremacy as Universal Champion, especially in the main event of WrestleMania. [7.0] "[4.0*] The dynamic between these three in this match was simply incredible. Everyone had their moment of almost winning and shining. I love how Daniel Bryan spent so many years without wrestling and came back still managing to have high level matches (edge the same thing). The moment that Edge does a submission on Reigns and almost makes him pass out was incredible, Bryan invades the ring and they both do a double submission on Roman, besides the moment being cool it also makes sense with the storyline as Bryan once again steals the moment and Edge's opportunity, the way Edge and Bryan start attacking each other after that was incredible. Storytelling remained until the end with Bryan always stealing Edge's chance to be champion. The way Roman pinned Bryan and Edge at the same time was one of the most badass ways to win a match in WWE history but unfortunately Jey Uso's interference made me like this great ending less."
[9.0] "Overall, a fantastic performance by all men involved. Edge and Bryan looked like believable challengers who at certain points may have actually won it, while Reigns was able to exert control at certain points as well as sell moves in wonderful fashion. My only grip with this match is the overuse of Jey Uso's interference as I felt that his involvment too early on as well as in the end hurt the beginning and the end of these matches slightly. However, almost everything in between was perfect from the spear clash, to the double cross face and Reigns ultimately stood tall in a manner that helped cement his legacy as the tribal chief."
[10.0] "2 and a half years ago from now, I remember being sure that Edge would capture the Universal Title not knowing that Reigns would become what he has been now. This undisputedly was a killer and chaotic Triple Threat main event ! The addition of Bryan was fantastic with his legendary technical skills while Reigns & Edge did a monstrous job bringing in the powerhouse ! Edge trying to submit Roman with the bar of the chair scaled up the brutality and with Bryan both executing a double submissions made Reigns looks more like an unbeatable monster ! With the help of Jey, The Head of the Table would totally wipe out the two challenger pinning them at the same time thus cementing the greater version of Roman Reigns."
[4.0] "The stage was set for a classic 3-way . The talent in the ring did there job with some nice spot's and storytelling. I Particularly like Edge using a bit of the snapped off chair, felt off the cuff and not planned. Now if I watched this live my negatives wouldn't be a issue but I didn't so I was in the hands off WWE production and for some reason on there biggest night of the year they decided to go experimental. The editing and directing of this match felt like a Paul Greengrass movie. To the point it gave me a headache and took away from the talent in the ring.Great match made unwatchable with WWE production. **1/2"
[9.0] "This main event took a bit of time to warm up but end up making a great use of the triple threat stipulation with Edge and Bryan costing each other the win at multiple occasions. The double submission on Roman is a memorable moment and symbolic of these two faces unable to work together to overcome the heel. The finish, with Jey Uso's intervention, is a bit underwhelming but it works. 9/10."
[10.0] "Triple threats can be a mixed bag but the great character work of Edge, the great workrate of Bryan and the incredible storytelling and majestic work from Roman Reigns made this a classic main event. Awesome ending with Reigns stacking both men to prove himself as the dominant man of WWE."
[9.0] "Triple threat Wrestlemania main events do not miss. This one had a different dynamic of two heels and one babyface and had one conquering heel against two babyfaces, both with their own reasons for being there while also not being afraid to heel it up with one another. Bryan and Edge didn't work together because they both hated that the other one was in the match and Reigns was the guy both wanted to overcome after Edge returned from retirement and Bryan got screwed at the PPV. The match plays out like a brawl with a lot of really great spots. Bryan costing Edge the match twice (stopping Roman tapping out and pulling the ref out) is perfect symbolism of Bryan's involvement taking away from Edge's moment. Even when Bryan is out of it from the con-chair-to, Jey Uso ruins the moment once more for Edge and allows Reigns to stack both legends to win. Worth noting that at different points in time, it was possible none of these 3 would wrestle again so this match even happening is very special and I'm glad it did happen as it gave us one of the best Wrestlemania main events ever - ****1/2"
[8.0] "I remember watching this one live and thinking it was an easy lock for a top 5 Wrestlemania main event, but I'm not quite as high on it as I was when I first watched this match. During the first two-thirds of this match, this felt like your standard WWE multi-man match with a few cool moments peppered in. Jey Uso stacks the odds against Edge and Bryan by superkicking anyone of them if they dare to step outside the ring, but a DDT on top of the steel steps soon takes him out of the equation ...for now. This doesn't quite feel like Wrestlemania main event, but that all changes when they go absolutely all-out during the go-home stretch. Edge spears Reigns from his steel step throne and things escalate from there until the match concludes with the picture-perfect finish of Reigns pinning both Edge and Bryan. The whole business with Edge using a part of the chair to choke out looked brutal, with that brutality being propped up by Roman's demented selling as Edge rams the steel into his mouth. Speaking of selling, Bryan's lifeless body twitching after getting his brain smashed in with the chair is a great little touch that a lesser worker would have left out. Bryan was really the MVP here, as this match would have felt lacking if we just got Edge vs Roman as the main event."
[10.0] "A fantastic 3 man match. This is undoubtedly the best live match of Edge's return run so far (not counting the pre-recorded and edited Orton Backlash match). This is the match that solidified Roman Reigns' Tribal Chief run as a major star especially with the double pin ending. Bryan was also arguably the most over he had been since his peak in 2013-2015."

[9.0] "The best match of the two nights and the best main event in wrestlemania since 2015, apart from the exaggerated interference that was the low point of the match, the rest was sensational with Edge and Bryan with blood in their eyes to dethrone Roman and the champion using by all means to maintain his reign that after this match was placed on the level of end game boss with the pin on top of the two challengers, excluding WALTER vs Dragunov II that was on NXT that was the MOTY of WWE in 2021 (****1/2)"

[9.0] "This is still my favorite, and Romans best match from his title reign. Everyone played their roles in this match so well Roman was great as the arrogant heel, Bryan as the underdog, Edge as the smart veteran and Jey Uso as the guy to do the dirty work for Roman. They had a bunch of great sequences in this, and some really good spots like the vicious kick from Bryan when Roman tried the superman punch, that double spear spot with Edge and Reigns. Bryan in full control going crazy by doing his signature moves on Edge and Reigns was another great moment in this, I loved Reigns ending his moment by powerbombing him onto Edge.. The finishing stretch following that was great. You got Reigns puts Bryan through the table after the Reigns sucks chants, Edge with a spear following, Edge and Reigns fighting for the chair in the ring leading to Edge getting the leg of the chair and applying the crossface with it, Bryan joining in so Reigns doesn't tap. After that you got Bryan and Edge with little fight that sees Edge come out on top, and Edge avoided a Reigns clothesline to hit a spear that would make you think he won but Bryan pulled out the ref at just the right moment. Edge goes crazy after this with chair shots on Bryan and Reigns, lands a conchair to on Bryan, and just as he's about to do it to Reigns Jey saves the day. Edge attacking Jey gave Reigns just enough time to capitalize with a spear, hit him with a conchair to and stack him on top of Bryan for an amazing visual and the win. Amazing character work and match from everyone involved. ****3/4"

[8.0] "Great triple threat match. The video package for this match was excellent, and the build to this match was genuinely awesome and well done. Fantastic dynamic with Bryan playing the underdog, Edge being the aggressive veteran and Roman being the stoic heel. All 3 men played their characters well with their facial expressions and mannerisms. They had a strong pace and kept it all the way through. Very little downtime here. Jey interfered early on to give Roman the advantage right away. There were still some annoying tropes like the usual 2 men in the ring while one just waits on the outside for the next spot. But there wasn't much of that compared to other triple threat matches. They did a great job at making you think either Edge or Bryan could win at certain points. Edge's spear nearfall was excellent. Roman sold Bryan's crossface brilliantly too. The finish made Roman feel like the ace he was always positioned to be. I've hated a lot from his new gimmick but this was exactly what it needed to be. One of the best Mania main events of the modern era. ****"
