1 | 02.09.2024 | Styles619 | 7.0 | I thought this was a pretty good match. Bobby Roode and Lashley simply had good chemistry, being able to match each other in their styles. They did the classic move of copying each others finishing moves to win, neither of which were successful. I do think the match was a little hurt by the overbooking, but I understood why they did it. They wanted to get some new storylines going by giving us both face and heel turns. MVP came out with Kenny King and two masked men to help Lashley, and it was revealed that the masked men were Low Ki and Samoa Joe. They would join MVP's heel faction, which was finally got a name with the Beat Down Clan. Then Eric Young came in with a steel chair, seemingly to save Roode, only to turn on him. Lashley won the title with a spear, but you could tell he had a confused look on his face. This would allow him to turn babyface down the line. Overbooked, sure but it had a purpose. I think this was better than their first match, but not as good as their second. ***1/2 |
