Little did we know at the time, Cody Rhodes was wrestling his last year in AEW at the time. This was fun, but I think it would have benefited from being about 5 minutes longer than it was. That way we could have gotten a really good or great match. The other thing that was dumb was the finish, with Penta snapping Cody's arm, but almost immediately after Cody used that arm to help him win the match on a surprise pin. Having more time in the match would have sold that move better and not rush the finish, which is what it felt like here. Aside from all that, this was fun. ***1/4

2928.04.2022Shadow Explosion0.0I hate this match with a passion, it starts off good and well and honestly I liked Cody pulling out the big spots but man when Pentagon pulls out "The Sacrifice" which is just a regular ass move in this company instead of the move that people out on the shelf and then Cody no sells it and rolls up Pentagon, I never felt so angry with AEW in my life, that not only ruined the whole match but it ruined any enjoyment I had with Cody Rhodes.

I? m sure Cody wanted to make Penta look strong in defeat but he failed to do so here. Some strikes were good especially Penta? s chops and kicks and some entertaining spots like the Canadian destroyer by Cody to Penta and the tope suicida by Cody onto the barricade . Penta? s arm work deemed to hold little significance after the finish and Cody? s leg work did not do much to give the match a flow or direction . For what it was , it was a solid match overall. ***

Cody's injured arm seems like the obvious story to tell, but it's only worked on for a few minutes and Cody never sells it. Lots of bad selling, weak offense and big spots that mean nothing. Penta just no sells everything Cody does. Cody is such a mark he hit a superkick and a Canadian Destroyer, and followed it immediately with a cutter. Jesus Christ this one was awful. Penta does the arm snap to Cody, but Cody blew off any selling of it just to win with a flash pin. Why did Penta kick out of Cody's finisher just to get pinned a minute later from the weakest finish in wrestling? *3/4

Nein, langweilig war das Match in keinster Weise, aber so wirklich gepackt hat mich das Ganze nicht. Natürlich gab es ein paar richtig gute Momente, aber Codys "Verletzung" hat ihn natürlich eingeschränkt. Auf der anderen Seite hätte Penta durchaus ein bisschen mehr sellen dürfen, aber na gut, das ist ja nicht das erste Mal. Das Finish war so okay, trotzdem ist Cody für mich der falsche Sieger hier. Das Aftermath war ganz okay, QT kommt zu spät zur Hilfe... interessiert irgendjemanden diese QT Marshall Storyline? Gute 6 Punkte von meiner Seite

7121.03.2021MAGICIAN2.0Die Show startet mit Rhodes vs. Pentagon. Die beiden geben uns ein paar super schön ausschauende Moves, aber beide sellen hier genauso gut wie Pluto Nash im Box Office. Länger als fünf Sekunden wird nicht gesellt und nach einem Canadian Destroyer (ein Piledriver! ) steht Pentagon nach zwei Sekunden wieder für einen Cutter bereit auf der Matte, ohne den Piledriver auch nur ein bisschen zu sellen. Cody war ja lange Zeit bei der WWE und hatte somit ausreichend Kontakt mit Undertaker, um zu wissen, dass das ein No-Go ist. Undertaker hätte Pentagon danach im Shoot ausgeknockt. Und in den Cutter von Cody springt Pentagon regelrecht rein, weil er zu weit rechts im Ring war und zuvor vergessen hat, nach vorne zu crawlen. Nach diesen zwei Moves, die Pentagons Kopf auf die Matte schmettern, kickt Pentagon bei 2 aus. Dann zeigt Cody den Cross Rhodes, seinen Finisher und auch daraus kickt Pentagon bei 2 aus. Man könnte meinen wir hätten hier einen PPV Main Event vor uns, in dem diese Kickout Spots gründlich vorbereitet wurden. Das war natürlich nicht der Fall. Ganz ganz schwaches Matchlayout, das Codys Offensive buried. Da man davon ausgehen muss, dass Cody dafür verantwortlich ist, bin ich sehr enttäuscht von ihm. Dann folgt noch ein 2-Count nachdem Pentagons Kopf auf den Boden gehauen wird und man könnte fast glauben, Pentagon wäre Brock Lesnar. Nach einer Phase im Figure 4 von Cody kann Pentagon dann problemlos seinen Arm Breaker zeigen, der bei Lucha Underground für Injury Angles gesorgt hat und unfassbar authentisch wirkte. Hier kann Pentagon keine Intensität in den Move bringen und Cody nosellt ihn und benutzt den angeblich gebrochenen Arm problemlos für das Finish. Das war leider eines der schlechtesten Matches, die ich jemals von Cody gesehen habe. *

All his best signature moves and finishers and he was kicking out like it was nothing. Is Cody so weak, even his finishers deal no damage? Even more ridiculous was Pentagon breaking Cody's arm. Cody got his arm ripped off and 2 seconds later he pinned Penta like a child and was completely fine. What a shitshow....

Would have liked this to go on for a couple more matches, but Cody just got the win on a random taped Dynamite. Oh well.

Natürlich hatte das nicht den allergrößten Tiefgang aber es bot 10 Minuten durchgehende Action und ich finde es auch interessant Cody mal in so einer Art von Match zu sehen. In meinen Augen war das ein mehr als anständiges Match, welches 7 Punkte verdient.
