Utami's beatdown work during her early control period looked good, and Kamitani did well with her sympathetic selling, though she did look a bit too wimpy and dorky at points with just how far she went selling her pain and panic. She at least showed good fiery babyface passion as she struggled to withstand Utami's dominance and fight back. Her eventual comeback was pretty underwhelming, since none of her agile attacks were especially impressive, but her big move and counters in the 2nd half ended up being more creative and smooth, allowing her to finally make use of her usually clumsy athletic abilities. She also began bumping quite impressively with her energy and agility for Utami's various attacks. Utami's various strikes, power moves, and submission all looked good, though none were executed in any truly exciting ways. Kamitani's hurricanrana counter to Utami's Hijack BT Bomb was wonderfully smooth and resulted in a great near fall, making for the best moment of the match. That was unfortunately the only truly exciting moment of the match, though, since everything else was quite competent and moderately enjoyable at best. Kamitani showed off a few more impressive skills than she'd previously shown, but she didn't yet resemble any sort of truly top talent. ***1/4 |

On the other hand is Saya who is very talented as a rookie with only 1 year of experience and is also highly under appreciated. Saya brings a unique move set of risky high flying maneuvers that nobody would dare attempt not only on the Stardom roster but the whole world except for a few exceptions . She botches them but still deserves credit for her will power . This match started off with magnificent technical wrestling mainly arm wringers and then a very fast paced sequence that sets the tone for the upcoming content in the match . The story telling and psychology was vividly presented with Utami having Saya scouted at times since she was a rookie as compared to the more experienced Utami , the power vs speed dynamic played out very well there as can be depicted rom there varying move set selections , Saya? s frustration after giving it her all and not being able to pin Utami with that hurricarna bomb twice for two very believable and close near falls that had me on the edge of my seat , in addition also making rookie mistakes like not being able to cover after the star crusher . Also , the reversal into the destroyer was simply awesome. This turned out to play a well executed story . I was all for it . There was back and forth action with Saya even connecting with the tope con giro and missing a beautiful phoenix splash . Saya gave it her all but in the end it was Utami who prevailed . This match had amazing pace and momentum , the synchrony and flow was great . The energy was there even despite the outcome being predictable , both put on one hell of a match deserving of praise . ****1/4 |
