[7.0] "This is much better than you would expect. They both take several painful slams on concrete blocks, ring boards and Hoshino's ring steps. Not as extreme as other deathmatches from the same time but I'd argue still a good defense."
[6.0] "As 'Black Mass With Love' wrote, Hoshino's a comedy-guy, not someone, unless it was a long-term storyline, I would pay for to see challenge for a title in the Main event of a show. Fun, but insignificant. 3 1/6"
[7.0] "Much better than pre-main. Not so bloody as a majority of deathmatches, but still violent and... funny. Hoshino is a very hilarious guy, and he knows how to make people laugh. Fun and brutal moments made this match quite good."
[5.0] "I parachute into Big Japan so I admit some story may be lost on me but I just didn't think this was very good. I feel bad for not rating matches highly when these guys take horrible bumps but I just found this lacked flow, speed and it just didn't work for me. **3/4"
[7.0] "The craziest match of the night. There was no canvas, no ring padding, however plenty of weapons like barbed wire, tables, chairs, ladders and cinder blocks. Guys were destroying each other on the plain deck ringfloor. It was brutal, however not the most spectacular. Cool match."
[9.0] "Tsukamoto made quite a splash recently by saying he won't use lighttubes in his title matches. If this is the kind of match he'll be having I think I'm okay with that. These two maniacs were bumping around on bare canvas and cinderblocks like they were indestructible. Every little thing looked like it hurt like hell. Beyond the ouch factor, there's a lot of clever spots (the top rope assisted ladder.... jawbreaker... thing? ) and a neat finish. I can see how this might not be everyone's cup of tea, but for me it worked big time."
