Eddie Guerrero vs. Val Venis

[5.0] "A match that was okay and weak at the same time, not only Val Venis and Eddie didn't had a lot of chemistry in ring together and the final minute with the interference of Chyna and Trish didn't made it great. 5/10 [***1/4]"

[4.0] "A fairly weak match between both men with nothing in ring wise truly standing out, their chemistry wasn't mostly there, and it was overbooked towards the end with the interferences from Trish and Chyna."

[6.0] "The Eddie and Chyna pairing had money written all over it. They had great chemistry. Eddie almost made Val look credible here. And I say with Val having won the match, but he was clearly a step behind Eddie the whole match."

[6.0] "This was a pretty good match even though I wish there was more heat to it. Eddie was really good to watch with some of the counter moves and Val was underrated and had some of his better matches around this heel run. Really good back and forth stuff here throughout although the ending kinda felt abrupt and predictable."

[6.0] "This was a pretty solid match with Eddie having some great spots and carrying this match. My personal favorite spot was the Frankensteiner by Eddie towards the end but I wasn't exactly a fan of the interference at the end and even though it looked really good the finish sort of came out of nowhere. 3 stars at best."

[5.0] "It was a quick tournament match with nothing standing out really, but at the same time it was easy to watch. Eddie once again showed a lot of charisma and character, while Venis seemed to be a little toned down compared to last time he was on a PPV, but he could still go."

[7.0] "This was actually pretty good for a King of the Ring quarter final as I was a fan of both of these guys in the ring. Val Venis actually worked better as a heel while Eddie could do both brilliantly so we got an entertaining match."

[5.0] "Just an average match, with Eddie looking bored and Venis looking as mediocre as usual. The interference finish didn't help."

[5.0] "Venis has gone heel and has new inferior music. Val overpowers Eddie. Eddie comes back with a dropkick. They fight outside then back in. Val goes up but gets superplexed for 2. Eddie gets a surfboard and bow and arrow and the crowd likes that one. Val comes back with some elbows for 2. Back breaker and he holds it. Eddie gets a rana and a backdrop suplex, but goes up top and gets knocked off. Val tries the Money Shot, but hits knees and gets rolled up for two. Russian leg sweep gets two. Val tries pinning with the ropes but Eddie kicks out. Eddie comes back and crotches Val on top, hitting the superana. Trish gets on the apron and yells at somebody and Chyna pulls her down Val goes for Chyna and gets punched and Eddie rolls him up for 2. Suplex reversal sequence leads to the fisherman's/semen's suplex from Val for the pin. One of the better KOTR tournament matches but that's not saying much!"

[5.0] "A fairly bog standard match, all things considered. This is shortly before Eddie is out of the WWF and considering the reasons why, it's not surprising to see him not at the top of his game. Meanwhile, Val is a fairly competent WWF mid 90s big man with some decent athleticism, but he looked kind of slow and clunky here, especially compared to even a not-fully-motivated or on his game Eddie. There are a couple decent spots in here, but in the long list of Eddie matches you should go out and see, this one doesn't rate."

[5.0] "This was a boring match with a good final minute or something. Nothing really happened then Venis hit a decent perfect plex"

[5.0] "Did suffer from a lack of psychology, for most part just felt like both guys doing moves for the sake of doing moves. It did plant the seeds for the Eddie/Chyna vs. Venis/Trish rivalry that we got during the Summer of 2000."

[5.0] "Pretty disapointing match. Val Venis is not amazing, but can have good match, Guerrero is a legend but couldn't get anything from Val. Really nothing to see."
