[6.0] "You'd think this would be a bigger match, as both of these guys were super over at the time. I guess their real program was a few of years before this for the world title. Sting is definitely less green for this one but both of these guys need to be carried to a good match so my hopes weren't high going into this. Sid bumpin all over the place for Sting at the beginning of this as his ass whooping spills out into the audience. Not something you usually see in WCW from this time period and it doesn't last too long and they don't do too much when they are out there. Parker gets a couple of chokes in and distracts the referee long enough to get in a weak ass looking chair shot. Sid lifts sting very high above his head, like he said he would in his promo. There's a couple bearhug spots which I find to be very dated, even in 1993. Sting shows great fire in his comeback and the crowd is on their feet for this and the finish which of course involves the colonel. This wasn't so bad all things considered and this doesn't drag aside from the bearhug spots."
[5.0] "It's a very Sid match. If you think Sid is crap you won't like it. If, like me, you have a soft spot for Sid despite the fact he's clearly crap then you'll probably find something to enjoy in it, I did and the finish is hilariously silly. Crowd coming to life for the first time this show helped too."
[5.0] "This wasn't a perfect match by any means, but all things considered it was a decent effort. I get that Sting has the whole superhero thing going on, but the way he was manhandling Sid in the early going of the match just seemed a bit much to me. It was interesting to see, but I didn't really like Sid's size being minimized to such a degree. They retained a fairly decent pace throughout the match for the most part, which isn't something that can always be said for Sid's matches, and this at least made the match easy to watch. The action itself was nothing special, but there was a good sense of energy, and the crowd's love for Sting certainly elevated the overall atmosphere of the match. It probably could have been a little better, but it definitely could have been a lot worse, too. Not bad."
[6.0] "I actually enjoyed this match, and probably would've rated this a point higher if not for the dumb finish to the match. Sid has been surprisingly watchable since returning to WCW in 1993. Sting and Sting played off each other well here. This actually felt kind of important as the battle to be the franchise. Sting wins after it turns out Robert Lee Parker is blind and/or an idiot and costs his man the win."
[4.0] "WCW promoted this as "the franchise" match with Tony Schiavone saying it over and over again on commentary, but this was nothing special. Very basic bout that ended with Col. Robert Parker screwing his man Sid the win. Sid's teased face turn went nowhere as he was fired after the incident with Arn Anderson later that month. Decent match. [*3/4]"
[5.0] "It was what it was. Sting sold for most of the match, and Sid might be the best case for a guy who got great reactions based solely on looks. A bit of fun at the end with Col Parker grabbing Sid's foot, like he couldn't tell the difference. Yeah Sting did what he could here to make a serviceable match."
[6.0] "Nothing spectacular for the most part, but Sting was just so good at making every match exciting with the help of the crowd. The fans ate absolutely everything that he served them and in the final minutes both guys really picked up the pace, delivering a very energetic finish."
[6.0] "Why does Sid have Col. Robert Parker as his manager? He adds nothing to Sid's presentation. Sting and Sid rematching from 3 years ago without fake Barry Windham Sting to cause controversy. Sid, at this point, was just a big goof for guys to bounce off of and his only true great match was against Shawn Michaels. It got good towards the end, though."
[5.0] "Sting was clearly doing his best to carry Sid through this but his talent can only go so far. The bearhug segment went on for too long and the finish felt a bit anti-climactic."
[0.0] "You'd think after those great Vader matches Sting would have a better idea of how to carry Sid, but they are just as poorly paired here as they were three years ago. These Sid pushes were so dreadful."
