EVIL & Yujiro Takahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada & Toru Yano

[3.0] "About as basic a match as it gets. No idea why they'd bother with this one, purely to get Okada on the card? I think there was 3 Togo interference spots if I remember correctly. Absolutely zero crowd heat. Pointless."

[3.0] "The worst match of the night . It was really bad . No meaning and no necessary action to be bothered for . Even an Okada dropkick was not timed properly with it connecting with the abdominal region of Yujiro , who still lacks basic knowledge and concept of pro wrestling basics. Then , it was Yano's tricks which were the same as in G1 , nothing new and the same things over and over again . Well , at least it was short. *1/2"

[3.0] "Not good. Kazuchika Okada looked like he couldn't be arsed. Typical Yano bullshit. But it was basically what youd expect from a NJPW opener."

[3.0] "What a terrible show opener. I was really disappointed and afraid this New Beginning in Nagoya would be a terrible show. Fortunately the action got better after this one. What about the match itself? Okada was fooling around and not fighting seriously. His signature Dropkick was also very low and awful looking. Match to forget..."

[4.0] "This was a basic opener not really interesting, Yano was the MVP here, I liked his face off between Yujiro and the end was funny. The wrestling here wasn't good at all, especially because of Okada who is incredibly sloppy. **1/4"

[3.0] "I've got more affection for non-title sleepy Kazu than most, and I'm sure he'll dial it back up soon, but this was another nothing tag match with no heat whatsoever to build to his match with EVIL, who continues to bleed whatever star power he built up in LIJ. Wretched ref distraction spots, scarcely any input from everyone else in the match, and both Okada and EVIL look bored to be there. Okada is the best wrestler of his generation, but his refusal to take any program seriously that doesn't involve the IWGP belt is an increasing issue."

[3.0] "Really boring. Okada and EVIL doesn't have a lot of chemistry together and Yano and Yujiro was very frustrating. Yano can be funny but he overstayed his welcome. *1/2"

[3.0] "an ok opener, but a lot of BC interference and Yano-ness made this forgettable on the road to EVIL vs Okada down the line on this tour. The question remains on the shelf life of the Togo/EVIL pairing now that we are post world title feud with Naito **"

[6.0] "Pretty standard bullet club match. It was pretty decent, but a lot of outside interference prevented it from kicking it into next gear"

[6.0] "There was really nothing new during the match. Bullet Club fulfilling the same heel role, interfering in the brawl and some dirty moves, Yano trying to be funny and entertaining, and Okada trying to mold his new character. A regular match"

[5.0] "There is nothing but Yano is funny. Okada did absolutely nothing and Yano tried to entertain us. That was rather cool."

[5.0] "Well, it can be rated as satisfactory but it's totally uninterested. Heels work is poor and you don't have a real payoff."
