Minoru Suzuki vs. Wayne Shamrock

[9.0] "Lacks that spectacle or violence or drama to be a masterpiece, but as a distillation of the style, it is pretty much perfect. More of a worked shoot than shoot-style per se, these two are technical wizards. Honorable and rugged and intelligent. Suzuki is so expressive and lively without ever losing his coolness or his menace. Shamrock has muscles over his muscles, and has a perpetual worried, thinking-man's face that makes you root for him at the same time. Yes, it is more of a grappling contest than a fight, but I LOVE that, and it's done as good as it can be done. Brilliant. [9.25]"

[2.0] "Catch wrestling over catch wrestling just make things pretty boring. Kinda ass match but some people like that style. I'm not one of them"

[3.0] "Look, I'm all for the realism when it comes to this kind of style but at least make it interesting. Thankfully this one only went 14 but it really did feel like it went 20+ because 90% of it was spent doing nothing on the mat until the admittedly cool finish came when Suzuki was able to block what looked to be a throw into a guillotine for the finish. Most notable thing outside of that was Shamrock looking extra jacked, no doubt the PWFG show in the US had something to do with that."

[6.0] "This match is worth watching to see Suzuki react at the end in the most uncharacteristic way for his pro-wrestling persona. It's surreal. Anyways, this is a solid bout but unfortunately, it tends to drag on for a little bit. There are some cool moments and submissions but it gets lost in long periods of catch wrestling. It's still a treat to watch two shoot legends going at it so I recommend it if you are a fan of the style."

[6.0] "This was alright, the 9th last match before Ken "Wayne" Shamrock had before leaving pro wrestling briefly and returning back to it with WWF. The two future Pancrase founders put on an alright UWF/PWFG/RINGS era shootstyle match, with that there were many points in which this match dragged."
