Kama vs. Shawn Michaels

[4.0] "This started good and Shawn was in fine form but got super boring and had an awful control segment by Kama. Love that the better wrestler got to do almost nothing."

[5.0] "For a complete waste of time this Pay per view is, the match was actually nice, Michaels and Kama gave an entertaining match, 15 full minutes that didn't disappoint me, for the low level this event had. 5/10 [***1/4]"

[3.0] "Other than the obvious bad ending with the time limit draw, very little happened until the last few seconds with a couple of near falls, very disappointing"

[4.0] "Both of their work was decent, and Shawn's selling was top notch, but man did they sure work this match for the time limit draw. Everything about this match was slow and drawn out. This entire bout felt like it was in slow motion. There was not a bit of urgency or speed to this match until the final minute. And even then there didn't seem to be much urgency. You'd have thought when they got to 2 minutes remaining, both guys would have realized they were running out and picked up the pace. But for at least another minute, they stayed with slooooow moves and pandering. Not a bad match but they milked the time limit so badly that I couldn't find much enjoyment in it at all."

[6.0] "This match was fine. One of Shawn Michael's weakest on PPV in his career, but I don't even really blame that on Kama as much as I do making it a time limit draw. But it's not the worst match in the world. HBK's worst is usually still better than most."

[6.0] "This match was good! Not great I felt like Shawn should have been put over so later on he could have won the crown. Kama and Shawn looked technically sound in this match. Nothing to special. However they couldve done Kama vs Taker because of their storyline at the time. Shawn came off as a strong baby face in this match and selling the back injury that took him out from Diesel earlier that year. I was satisfied with this being a draw! Both looked strong in the end."

[6.0] "Good match and not only because of Shawn, although obviously he was a big factor in making it enjoyable. I think Kama worked alright as a heel - he had an attitude, moved nicely and kept working the crowd, plus Michaels bumped around for him without a hesitation. Normally these time limit draws on King of the Ring aren't that exciting but both guys really put in work on this one."

[5.0] "When I was a kid I used to think Kama was coolest man on earth, I would like to retract that in public and apologise. HBK oversells a fair bit which is at least entertaining for what it was."

[5.0] "Second 5 in a row, but whilst Bob Holly vs. The Roadie was brought up by a good performance, this was dragged down by its weaknesses. Kama's doing a shootfighter gimmick, which his in-ring does not back up at all. Shawn notices it's not going to be good, and seriously holds back. Still, it's a Shawn Michaels match with someone who's vaguely competent, so it can't totally suck."

[5.0] "Shawn is obviously going to win the King Of The Ring because he is the freshly turned baby face and they want to start building towards his world title run, right? As the match gets passed the 10-12 minute mark people must have gotten the sickening feeling they were going for the time limit draw, which they do. Well, that was fucking stupid! At least Undertaker is still in this thing and he MUST be the next King Of The Ring......right?"

[5.0] "How bad can a Shawn Michaels match possibly be' Well, this bad - not actually awful but not good either. I've no idea why they mad this a draw and eliminated Shawn, except perhaps they knew Mabel couldn't handle another match. Some King... Kama (AKA Charles Wright, Papa Shango, The Godfather) was never a great wrestler, and here he's not a great character either. Shawn could wrestle this match in his sleep, and I'm not entirely sure he didn't. If it's not the worst match he ever wrestled it must be close - which given it's the best match on the card is worrying."
