[8.0] "Here is infamous, worst 5 star match of all time. I can definitely see where Dave was coming from with this rating, and I can see the critics being right, and match itself was somewhere in the middle. Not many moves here, but it's a Sheepherders match so if you expect athletic showcase, jokes on you. I enjoyed it personally. Simply put, it was already tense atmosphere of red hot babyface tag in this tournament going up against foreign tag team which is emotional trigger for USA chants, and it was like watching a match slowly devolve in this crazy, uncontrolable brawl that kept going, ref bumps, just all around chaos. Crowd losing their minds all the time certainly helped. It was an essence of old school crazy wrestling, where crowd believed what they saw and reacted accordingly. It sucked to see Fantastics eliminated, but if they are going out, at least go out in blaze of glory"

[7.0] "Good match. It's very similar to The Sheepherders vs Rock N' Roll Express from earlier in the show, down to the screwy finish, but I think this edges it because the finish is better, in concept and execution, and it has a grittier, more violent feel. The Sheepherders offense is limited to punches and kicks but they make the most of it, their commitment to the gimmick is so all encompassing that doing wrestling moves would almost take away from it. The Sheepherder are the kind of team that would forgo a lockup to punch you in the ribs, and they stick to it. The Fantastics aren't as dynamic as the Rock N' Roll and Bobby Fulton isn't as good a seller as Robert Gibson, but with the crowd firmly behind the babyfaces (with the help of good old 80s patriotism) and blade jobs by 2/4 participants, the match gets to a higher gear of intensity and violence. The finish doesn't feel cheap as it was logical and built up nicely. The post match is great, adding even more to the mayhem of the preceding match"

The match does get messy, which doesn't help. The crowd was very into this one as they got behind their American boys."

[8.0] "For years, this was my holy grail match that I hoped would one day see the light of day. One day, the WWE Network decided to upload the event (it has since disappeared from the network) and I immediately watched the event hoping to see this fabled 5-star match from the Sheepherders. I expected a bloody brawl between the two teams. Was it a letdown? Yes and no. This match was nowhere near 5 stars, but it was a good, entertaining brawl. The Fantastics have slowly risen on my favorite '80s tag teams list over the years. If not for how annoying Bobby Fulton could be, they might be at the top of the list. While not 5 stars, I think it deserves at least 4. It was wild and entertaining."

[8.0] "It's a fun match. A good ol' fashioned brawl. All guys bled like a stockpig. The crowd was engaged, the atmosphere hot. Now is it five stars? For me, no, totally not. But it was enjoyable. And I see why Dave rated it full five. It was kinda ahead of its time and clearly the style they wrestled later went on to influence the 'Attitude Era' to some extent. All things considered, I'll give it a four. ****"

[10.0] "This is like one of those famous Multi man brawls in the NWA but it happened DURING a match this time. With that in mind, this is the influential style you would see come through later in the Attitude Era. It's hard in hindsight to see why it was given *****, but the reasoning must be there for that."
