20.09.2024 | Zak22 | 8.0 | This is a really good match that was so close to being ruined by Hashi's obsession with headbutts and some poor pacing. But the quality (especially from Liger) shone through and this was pretty damn good.

30.10.2021 | arrancar | 6.0 | Good energy at the very start and the final few minutes, but the work itself wasn't very exciting even during those faster-paced periods. They got off to a good, energetic start before eventually settling in and going through the normal ups and downs of a mainstream mid-00s puro match. Outside of his big lariats and other arm-based strikes, Hashi's offence was often a bit underwhelming, with some attacks not getting the best connection. I know it was one of his staples, but Hashi's consistent use of the headbutts became quite grating because of how minimally damaging they appeared. I've never been big on Liger, and I consider him a wrestler who is very much a product of his time and whose work doesn't hold up to modern-day standards. His strikes and submissions were fine, and his power moves were pretty good (they've always been the best part of his offence imo), but his high-flying was as painfully mediocre as it was in his 'prime' in the 90s. Liger's control periods here felt quite long and uninteresting, and Hashi wasn't the most charismatic or sympathetic babyface to make the most working in response to Liger's control during those periods. There was some good energy as Hashi survived some of Liger's attacks and hit some big attacks of his own -- with the match just becoming a big bomb fest at that point -- but I still never bought into the passion Hashi was trying to display, nor did I believe he realistically had a chance of being the one to beat someone with such an important status as Liger. The near falls were well timed and got good reactions from the crowd, but I just couldn't relate to the crowd's investment in what led to all of those near falls. The way they were able to connect with the crowd as well as they did at least ensured this was an 'alright' match at worst. ***
25.12.2020 | SmarkCalaway | 9.0 | Starts off hot, has rest holds which are broken up with good action (I love Hashi's offence) and then crescendos into a great finishing stretch. Hashi looks awesome in defeat. Liger is fantastic too. Terrific stuff. **** 1/2

15.08.2020 | KinchStalker | 7.0 | This is NOAH's first attempt to win back the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship after Liger took it from Sugiura at the annual 1/4 NJPW Dome show. This match didn't strike me on the level that it has some others, but I do think it was a good one. I just think the heat was underwhelming compared to what I saw from Liger in his interpromotional matches a couple years earlier. And while I've really liked Hashi's work around this time as Akiyama's tag partner, he doesn't convince me here of being top junior material, and giving him so much offense might have been a structural mistake. He survives some big bombs, but Liger retains with a Shotei. ***1/2

24.04.2017 | Blood Pump | 7.0 | I suppose Liger was going into this as a heel because the fans were certainly giving him a lot of grief. The match was quite a submission heavy affair, which I can dig. I understand Liger was kind of doing less high spots around this time (He still left his feet a few times, including doing a nice spinning wheel kick off the apron), but the match in no way suffers because of it. Hashi headbutted the crap out of Liger throughout the match and worked the head most of the match (which makes me question his use of the figure four leg lock roughly midway through). He also bumped like hell in this match. Overall a great match, too bad for that slight botch near the end. ****
