[8.0] "The best kind of old-fashioned southern-style wrassin', one of the few bullrope matches I've ever seen that actually worked well with the gimmick. Neither Rhodes nor Buck were having great matches in this period, but the two coming together on this occasion created the perfect storm in a hard-hitting bout."
[7.0] "I loved their Bunkhouse Match and this one obviously couldn't match it, as they did everything they could in the previous meeting, but it was still very good. They worked the gimmick very well and from the beginning you felt the hatred between the two, as Dustin once more coordinated the crowd the way he wanted to, while Buck was surprising me with his quality character work again. Also last time I said that Buck really reminded me of Terry Funk and here we are with the latter one joining the attack after the end."
[5.0] "Leider kann diese Partie die richtig gute Qualität des Bunkhouse Matches von der Spring Stampede nicht bestätigen. Hier wirkt das Geschehen viel gewöhnlicher, schwerfälliger und zieht auch nicht mehr so viel Heat wie im Vormonat. Und damit degradiert sich das Match selbst zum belanglosen Midcard-Geplänkel."
[5.0] "I have a soft spot for Bunkhouse Buck. Dustin Rhodes was so stale at this point in his WCW career, it wouldn't be until he turned into Goldust that he reinvigorated his career. For now, he's stuck as a midcard cowboy heel trying to be young Dusty Rhodes. Oh, and I hate the sound of that damn cowbell. That match was just ok."
[4.0] "A slow paced gimmick match. Dustin was great in the match and didn? t do a terrible job. However, Bunkhouse Buck was just boring. Plus the finish with the cowbell just didn? t do it for me."
[4.0] "Didn't care for this one that much. Weakest match on the card so far but not terrible either. Funk does the run in which would set up the story line of Dustin stupidly asking Arn Anderson for help who would obviously turn on Rhodes and join Funk and Buck."
[6.0] "Bunkhouse Buck looks like a 30? s Bum from the Great Depression times but he was actually pretty good lol. Thought they used the bell effectively and the crow was pretty into it, even chanting for blood. Good brawl. ***1/4"
[8.0] "Not quite as good as their barn burner from Spring Stampede, this is still an excellent match and a nice example of a bullrope match done well. Dustin is awesome at this time but Bunkhouse Buck brought his own strengths which often aren't appreciated."
