Josh Alexander vs. Michael Elgin

[8.0] "Alexanders last match in ROH and he went out on a good one at least. Good chemistry with Elgin and its wild to me that Alexander did not end up in ROH full time."

[8.0] "Total showstealer that instantly made a star out of Josh Alexander, although the crowd didn't know who he was, so they chanted "Let's go new guy" (or at least I think that's what they were chanting, they could have been chanting "let's go blue guy" as he was wearing blue ring gear. ) Ideally, this should have led to Alexander being signed immediately, but instead it was his last match he wrestled for the company. What's interesting is that, on paper, this looks like it would be a forgettable match. It's main eventer Michael Elgin going up against an unknown guy who isn't even on the roster, so you'd expect a squash match or something. However, Elgin and Alexander are apparently good friends, so Elgin went out of his way to have an exciting, competitive match to make his friend look good. The two had a hard-hitting battle that really got the crowd into it by the end. There were a few sloppy/awkward moments, but mostly a great showing from both."
