111.06.2025AlexClark31410.0finally watched this match and what is there to say, Its 33 brutal minutes of the highest level of Pro wrestling between the two greatest of all time. Every single spot in this match will make you wince its hard hitting on another level, the sleeper suplex off the ramp is an all timer spot. Everyone should watch this match even if they know nothing about Misawa and Kobashi the aura the two men have will make them not want to look away this is shown by the crowd who are truly spell bounded by this match who during the match are involved loudly which is very rare in japanise matches but by the end jaws are on the floor in stunned silence at what they have just seen. This really is the greatest work of the Art of pro wrestling painted by its two greatest artists and even though it is now 22 years old it still stands this test of the times against the best wrestling going on in thw world today showing just how good the match truly is and i could watch it 1 million times over and never get bored. 1623.05.2025AdamW10.0I'm going to watch every match from Kenta Kobashi's mammoth 735 Day GHC Heavyweight Championship reign between 2003-2005, and it starts with possibly the greatest wrestling match of all time. As someone who's watched all the big Mitsuharu Misawa and Kenta Kobashi matches, this was huge and was meant to be the passing of the torch between Misawa and his former partner Kobashi, however with hindsight, this didn't really end this way, with Misawa winning the belt again for his own mammoth reign of 448 days between 2006 and 2008 after the NOAH fans weren't interested in any champions that weren't Misawa, Taue or Kobashi. However, this match is simply incredible. Two of the best wrestlers of all time, who at this point have a lot of wear and tear on their bodies after years of brutal bumps, compared to their peaks in the 90s, but these two went out in front of a rabid, emotional Budokan Hall and fought an epic, brutal, emotional war, that to me surpassed their epics in 1997, 98 and 1999. This is professional wrestling.

2016.05.2025LUKI-na-no-daaa10.0Truly a God Match. Not just a contest between deities, but a deification of the moment itself. Even in 2003, both Kobashi and Misawa had a lot of wear and tear, so the handful of years separating this from their epics in 1997, 1998 and 1999 feel like an eternity ago. But they knew they owed the capacity Budoukan crowd a match for the ages, and they didn't just deliver, they blew the roof off the place before the bell rang. Seriously, just hearing the crowd gasp as one to see "No time limit" come up on the board is worth five stars (kidding, kind of). The atmosphere was perfect, and the match did not disappoint. Hell, they exceeded expectations, which is damn near impossible- especially when you consider that pretty much everyone knew Kobashi was going to win! Of course, whipping out one of the craziest spots in wrestling history- the Tiger Suplex off the ramp- sure helped! This sent the already ascending Pro-Wrestling NOAH into its golden age, an era I remember most fondly; but make absolutely no mistake, kids, my love of this match is not from nostalgia. It really, truly is that superlative. I will not compare this to their past matches because this one has its own time, place and meaning to wrestling history. Enjoy, then enjoy again, and just for fun enjoy it yet again.
2116.05.2025michaels33310.0I used to think Gunther is the best heavyweight wrestler of all time, until I saw this match. These two men absolutely tore the house down. Top 3 wrestling matches of all time.
2214.05.2025gabsdavero10.0This is absolutely insane. So much talent in one ring, it's almost unbelievable. I love these two to death. Technical wrestling, mixed with unhinged brutality, it really seemed like these two hated each other. RIP Misawa.

3915.04.2025wrestlingreviewer2.0I love both men and their previous matches even against each other. But this match I hate this alot cause the story with Kenta targetting the neck and then both men exchanging suplexes like man, Misawa's neck should be hurting more and then there is a gross spot with Kobashi's neck that feels like it would kill a normal man. Too much choregraphed for these men and too many weird moments for me to enjoy especially when people call it one of the best matches.

5802.03.2025mathvrdr10.0I went into this match with high expectations because of its popularity. I was amazed by the danger they put on barely any move. It's one of the greatest match I've ever seen, and it very well deserve its score and fame.
5902.03.2025epaff10.0Rewatched this one again for the anniversary of the day it happened and no matter how many times I've seen this one it never falters in my eyes. It's considered one of the greatest matches ever for a reason. Legendary in so many ways with iconic moments littered throughout. A true passing of the torch from one legend to another and the start of one of the greatest title reigns the world has ever seen. 5 stars.

6126.02.2025GunAlpha10.0What else do you want me to say? This match is pure gold, the absolute definition of Strongstyle. When I saw the Japanese in that stadium chanting and cheering the names of these two big wrestlers, I already knew it was going to be a great match. It's too rare to see the Japanese so involved in a match. Two national heroes, two of the best indies in history colliding in the ring. And yes, almost all of their matches are masterpieces, but this is without a doubt the best of all. That spot where Misawa does a Tiger Suplex outside the ring is one of the most brutal moments I've seen in a match without the need of objects, and how well Kobashi sold that spot, simply beautiful! The kickouts were also perfect. Honestly, this match is the second best match in the history of wrestling, an absolute and total masterpiece. Misawa gave everything he had and Kobashi never gave up. Finally, Kobashi would conquer the GHC Heavyweight Championship for the first time, in an unforgettable match.
6226.02.2025QuickestSand10.0In my short time watching wrestling so far this is far and away the greatest match I have ever seen. From the begininng of this match you can tell that magic is in the air in that arena. From the way that these two begin the match with the incredible sequence of strikes from Kobashi to the technical control Misawa imposes on Kenta. This all slowly building to the big spots such as Misawa's dive on to the rail, the multiple half nelson suplexes that he took on the base of his neck. This then builds to the spectacular moment of Kobashi getting murdered with a tiger suplex off of the ramp. This entire match had so many beautiful moments that made this match a true nail biter till the final Burning hammer cementing Kobashi's victory and the first moment as the new GHC champion. if there has been a true Shakespearean equivalent in wrestling form, this match is it.

6517.02.2025bennythegeneral10.0This could genuinely the best the greatest match in wrestling history. In my top 10 for sure of matches ever. If you rate this under a 10 you're wrong. This feud deserves more praise then omega and Okada ever do I think. Masawa and kobashi had a good 7-8 year rivalry after they broke up As a tag in all Japan pro wrestling. You can find the match on Dailymotion if your having a hard time finding it as a North American like me lol

6710.02.2025Cavazos0110.0****** a GOAT match, once again they reached the highest level, the intensity from minute 1 is impressive, they go at a brutal pace seeking to damage themselves as much as possible, the spots are legendary and I believe very few matches manage to make such striking and impressive spots have a meaning, reason and logic, it is without a doubt the best work of spots in a match that I have ever seen, Kobashi arrived with the most difficult mission of his career to defeat Misawa in such a crucial moment, the psychology of the match is epic because it manages to convey the importance and desperation of both to defeat the other with details in the spots being very tough and tough and looking for the pin or continuing to punish constantly, the sequences are brutal with the constant exchanges of blows and how brutal the suplexes they performed looked, they both made an effort to ensure that each spot had its right moment and time making them look so perfect and brutal, the spot of the night was that brutal and legendary Tiger Suplex from the ramp to the floor, a spot that put everyone on their feet, epic kick-outs from both to the point of feeling the desperation of the two at not being able to defeat the other, in the end Kobashi manages to connect with his lethal Burning Hammer to take the biggest victory of his career and close one of the best fights in history

7623.01.2025G00T10.0The Tiger Suplex from the ramp made me see God and I wasn't even the one wrestling. Truly one of the most intense matches I've ever seen and I easily understand why people call this the greatest match ever.
7721.01.2025Willie 1920010.0This was easily in the top 5 matches in wrestling history. It had tons of perfect in-ring synergy between two of the greatest of all time. t was a great way to send off Misawa from his prime in wrestling, an even when he wasn't in good condition, he still put on an all time classic. Kobashi did amazing and I'm glad that he would be the one for Misawa to pass the torch to. Overall an instant classic that I would have at second place for the greatest match of all time.
7821.01.2025dsv the rater10.0[****** 3/4 ] for me this fight shouldn't have only 5 stars, the way it is built, with very solid technical and raw movements, without mistakes, a fight that for me, is better than Bryan Danielson vs Will Ospreay, and Kenny Omega vs Okada too, a fight that doesn't lose its rhythm at any moment, always with peaks, the best fight in history without a doubt

8410.01.2025Tawren10.0An all time classic, a finale and climax to the greatest style and series of all time with all of Kings Road and the Four Pillars. At the same time as it is incredibly exciting and you can't look away, it's also incredibly sad and heartbreaking, these guys are visibly broken and exhausted and every time I watch NOAH I am reminded in a way I don't expect. Must see contender for greatest of all time. *****

8803.01.2025NoOne210.0March 1st for any wrestling fan can only mean the same thing to a wrestling fan. On this date, these two superstars together on the ninth day of Navigate for Evolution made the best match in the history of Pro Wrestling and Kenta Kobashi became the new GHC Heavyweight Champion. The atmosphere in the arena was amazing. People couldn't control themselves in the middle of the match. Kobashi Kobashi and Misawa Misawa were amazing. Now let's look at the history of these two wrestlers. Misawa and Kobashi were never enemies, but when it came to the title, the friendships remained outside the ring and these two tortured each other worse than two enemies. The feud between these two before Noah was always heavier on Misawa's shoulders and Misawa won the important matches; Of course, there were tag team matches where Kobashi was able to pin Misawa, but this never happened in singles matches or for the title; this is one of the reasons why Kenta Kobashi is chosen as the best person to finish Rin Misawa. Pinning Misawa was the first sign of Noah for Kobashi, and in the tag team matches that were used to build up to this match, these signs would increase; this time Kobashi was the superior person and the story was completely reversed. All Kobashi, Misawa, Noah and wrestling fans had to do was wait. At the beginning of the match, the two wrestlers had equal control over the wrist until Misawa hit a suplex on Kobashi, gaining some momentum on the wrist. Then he did a few flyer moves and with another moonsault he completely took the momentum off the wrist (Misawa knew that he had to physically tire Kobashi first, and then his final move was to start working on Kobashi's hands to reduce the power of the punch and take the momentum off his hand again, and if Kobashi went back to the wrist, he wouldn't be able to do anything special with his hand). Misawa was doing great until he made a mistake. Kobashi was making a comeback, but Misawa took control of the wrist again, and this time he wanted to take full control of the wrist with flying moves from the apron, like in the first match, but Kobashi dodged and Misawa fell on the breakaway with a face. Kobashi managed to get the momentum of the wrist with a few moves and then worked on Misawa's head with heavy blows. Now you might ask, this is exactly the same method, Misawa's first method was on the wrist and it didn't work. Why did Kobashi repeat this? Kobashi himself knows how destructive this plan is and we shouldn't forget that Kobashi couldn't get rid of Misawa's plan. Misawa himself made a mistake. So Kobashi knows how heavy that plan is and how it tires the opponent. Kenta used his time well and tired Misawa with nice suplexes and cold feet. But Misawa slowly returned to the wrist. Neither of them should struggle as much as before to control the wrist and they should take control of the wrist with a heavy blow and Misawa did exactly the same. Misawa hits a great elbow in a short time and then a Tiger Driver 91, but Misawa is not the only fighter in this match, and Kobashi is coming to his feet. First, I want to talk about Misawa's work in that time gap. Misawa is going to hit a Tiger Driver 91, so he has to work on Kobashi's head again. To start, he hits an elbow that he is a master at (which tires Kobashi out nicely). Then he comes to hit a Tiger Driver, but Kobashi doesn't let him. Misawa comes to hit Kobashi right in the back of the neck and then a Tiger Driver that tires him out nicely and then he hits a finisher. Misawa again works on Kobashi's head and hits a Tiger Driver, but Kobashi has no intention of giving up. Then Kobashi goes back to the match and takes control of Kobashi with a few suplexes. The match continues like this and there are many beautiful moves in it and many wonderful sequences that you just have to see. But definitely one of the best sequences of this match and the history of Pro Wrestling was Misawa's Tiger Suplex 85, never to be repeated. This move was so terrible that no one thought that Kobashi would be alive. Misawa did everything to win but he couldn't. He hit every move that he had never hit before, but Kobashi had no intention of giving up. Now it was Kobashi's turn, he hit a few moves that he had never hit before, but Misawa also came out alive and Kobashi was ready for his final move. A move that had been created in the previous matches of these two. A move that had only been done three times until that day, and twice on Misawa himself. Kenta Kobashi was able to become the GHC Summer Champ for the first time by successfully performing the Burning Hammer move. Then Misawa and Kobashi shook hands and paid their respects.

9921.11.2024ticks 33310.0Because of the very high rating I went into this match with very high expectations. And they were definitely exceeded. Kobashi and Misawa got the crowd on their heels, the best japanese crowd I've ever seen. Very dangerous spots and dangerous match overall, they fell on their head in pretty much every move. They made it look like a truly real battle, getting the best out of the crowd that was so into the match.
10019.11.2024GhassaneJabri10.0This is my favorite kind of match to experience first hand, these legendary matches praised by anyone who enjoyed wrestling in their lifetime. But what I didn't expect from this match is how scary it was. Basically, minutes 9 through 11 are the most I've gasped at a wrestling match because of how much shit Misawa ate outside the ring. And don't get me started on the head bumps, these were terrifying as well. But my favorite moment of the match, which is a basic pick but it's also a testament to it being unbelievable, is the tiger suplex off the ramp that ended Kobashi's life. Seriously, if you've only heard of the praise this match got, go and see it, it goes so much harder than anyone can put it into words. You get to see the meanest forearms from Kobashi, an all-time great performance by Misawa, and some bumps that I hope to never see again in wrestling (foolish hope, I know).
