Genichiro Tenryu & Riki Choshu vs. Keiji Muto & Masahiro Chono

[8.0] "Tenryu and Choshu teaming is so weird. Tenryu wants Muta ! Great muta spectacle who mists everyone and an Inoki post-match appearance to hype their match."

[6.0] "It started off well but it fell apart pretty quickly. After Muto left it got very confusing and the tag rules seemed to be thrown out the window before eventually being reinstated. A mess of a match but it serves the purpose as a platform to advance the story they are telling with Muta."

[6.0] "Kind of an up and down match, especially considering the talent level, and one that feels a little more like an extended angle than a full "match. " The crux of it was really Muto getting running off early in the match, leaving Chono to face off the daunting duo of Tenryu and Choshu by his lonesome, until returning as the painted Muta instead. Things picked up from there, with Muta throwing out some green mist and things getting gnarly, but an abrupt pinfall ended the match. From there it led to about four minutes of cluster and chaos with Muta tearing up the place, and it worked great selling him as an unhinged threat, and building a big-money confrontation with Inoki, but really over-shadowed the in-ring work that came before - not that there was a ton to speak of. It was mostly just serviceable work, with a rushed finish, and a hot angle to close."

[8.0] "While not a great match, this was a collection of cool spectacle moments that only New Japan would do. The match starts off with Tenryu and Choshu rushing Muto and Chono, isolating Muto and beating him up. Tenryu then calls for Muta and Muto disappears into the back. Chono fights both Choshu and Tenryu alone for a bit, keeping them at bay before Muto returns with face paint and becomes Great Muta mid match. It's amazing and I don't like the character at all. He comes down and mists everyone in sight. Choshu and Tenryu stay on top, picking on Chono as their target but Muta doesn't have it and goes nuts at any chance. The result goes to Tenryu and Choshu but Muta mists them after the match and even mists Inoki amidst all the madness. So it was like an angle in a match. Wrestling theater almost but in the best way. ***3/4"
