[4.0] "pretty boring and pointless, John Silver is the definition of mid, and I cannot stand Orange Cassidy. It is neither serious nor comedic, it's something in the middle and it doesn't work at all, it's soulless and both guys have no charisma, even though they can move. Total waste of time."
Michael Morbius wrote on 14.07.2023:
[7.0] "The beginning was pretty funny and when they started to actually wrestler the action was very good with some great counters and great chemistry shown by the two. It shouldn't have been on the card but it was pretty fun. 7/10 - 3.5*/5*"

Prince Osborne wrote on 31.01.2022:
[7.0] "This was a pretty good mix of comedic relief and solid wrestling. Cassidy is a great entertainer that's a blessing for AEW to bring the comedy in his style that grasps the crowd instantly while the same can be said for Silver but he's underrated. He has the core strength to wrestle a match really good. This was a great choice to be a breather after a fantastic opener. 3.25 out of 5 stars!"

It was quite entertaining; while it did have good wrestling which all matches must have to make it good, it also had some quite humorous comedy blended in, as these two are known for making the crowd laugh. This was a pretty fun match."

Damian wrote on 15.11.2020:
[4.0] "I can't take either man as something more than a lowcard comedy act so I wasn't really into the idea of a PPV match between them. In the end this one was ok but needed to be a bit shorter. **."
Makai Club wrote on 11.11.2020:
[6.0] "It was pretty early for a palate cleanser but this was still a fun match in isolation. Silver getting infuriated in the most exaggerated way by Orange Cassidy's nonchalant attitude was hilarious. He really commits to being a goofy dude that gets shown up. I love how Silver ripped out Cassidy's pockets as well. That was genius from him. Orange Cassidy hit a pretty standard comeback to top off an entertaining match. ***"

[5.0] "A fairly by-the-numbers match that could've been a midcard match on an episode of Dynamite. I might be the only guy on this site who doesn't find anything special in John Silver. His comedy isn't particularly funny, and outside a few good power spots, his in-ring is fairly nondescript. His ceiling should really be a mid-episode Dark guy. But I digress, the match was fine and fulfilled its purpose in keeping OC busy and on PPV card, and getting him some fairly easy wins. Hoping this is a one and done, rather than a program. 2 and 3/4 stars."

[7.0] "This match was so much better than it had any right to be. I knew that it probably would be, Orange Cassidy is one of the best "comedy wrestlers" I've ever seen in my life, and John Silver is perhaps one of the most underrated workers in AEW's roster, but he won't be after this. What's better than Muscle Dwarf vs Lazy Tangerine? Not much."

[8.0] "I thought this was a decent, fun little match. It was a bit of a step below for OC, especially after winning a feud against Jericho, but for Silver, this match was a pure showcase for him. He's continuing to be the breakout of The Dark Order."
CaptainKabluey wrote on 09.11.2020:
[7.0] "This match was just about what I wanted it to be. John Silver got actual heat from the audience by tearing out OC's pockets from his pants. That's how much people like OC. He then pretended to eat them lmao. Silver, if you've never watched some of his independent matches (Watch his title match with WARHORSE), is a real powerhouse. He had Cassidy up in the air with one hand at one point tonight. He's going to be a big deal soon. The match wasn't as funny as I hoped, but Cassidy looked good. John lost because he tried to do Brodie's lariat and missed."
Dnutz wrote on 09.11.2020:

Colt Iken wrote on 09.11.2020:
[9.0] "This ruled. It started off with some entertaining comedy and then built into a really strong match that, like the opener, featured some super quick and super smooth work. John Silver is a superstar in the making. He has such an entertaining personality that played off Cassidy's persona early, and then later he showed great explosiveness in his kicks and power. And Cassidy remains tremendous; even if you're put off by the gimmick, I don't see how one can deny at this point that he's a great worker who impresses pretty much every time we see him. It wasn't quite as great as the top stuff on this show but not by much. Easily the most underrated match on this great show."

The match itself was very cool, they did a good job after the Hangman vs Omega. Bright futur for Silver who is on fire right now ***1/2."

[7.0] "Maybe it wasn't PPV caliber, maybe there was no real build-up, maybe it wasn't perfect but oh damn it was a real breath of fresh air. It was simply the best way to blow after an excellent opener between Kenny Omega and Hangman Page, it was offered to us in a short format and we never got bored from start to finish, an all-action sprint that was so enjoyable. The beginning of the match was obviously comedy oriented because that was the whole point of a confrontation between Orange Cassidy and John Silver, I loved the fact that Silver refuses above all to see Cassidy put his hands in his pockets and gets furious as soon as Cassidy does. When he takes the pockets out of Cassidy's pants, it was so fun and seriously John Silver deserves all the huge praise he's been getting lately. Jim Ross also put him in the spotlight a lot in that match and it's deserved because he's really good at what he does. I didn't like Orange Cassidy until a while ago but now I'm really starting to find him consistent, regular and always there to give us interesting matches in his own way. This match was perfectly where he was supposed to be and there is nothing wrong with it."

[7.0] "Fast paced, high impact match under 10 mins is exactly the type of match that suits Orange Cassidy. Silver was great and gave Cassidy one of the best matches he had. The psychology, the pacing, the layout out of the match and its execution were really Good. It was short, fun and a pretty good match between two underated performers. Great debut for Silver despite loosing. He is my favourite Dark Order member besides Lee. ***1/2"

Silver angrily yelling at OC while OC does his leg kicks was legit pretty funny. Silver also had some nice moments on the offense, in particular with the kicks of his own. Solid little match!"

John Silver has been the breakout star of the Dark Order through his BTE sketches, and it's starting to reflect in the ring as well. Cassidy continues his rise up the card with this win, and I'm glad the Dark Order didn't get involved."

I can tell they know what they have with him and will give him a singles push sooner rather than later. I'd have actually loved him going over Orange Cassidy but the match was great still. Was a good comedy match with Silver playing into all of OC's gags. Was like a BTE episode on an AEW pp"
Matt Macks wrote on 08.11.2020:
[8.0] "This was the coming out party for John Silver to be more than a comedy character. What an irony that it came against Cassidy, who less than 10 months ago overcame the same stigma on the same stage. I loved it as both a breather from the opener, but also as a legitimate continuation of both of their characters and as a revelation that Silver can really go in the ring. His intensity is electrifying and will make him a major babyface in the future."
