[5.0] "By winning, MJF and Wardlow get to join the Inner Circle. The buildup to this was very divisive. You had the Le Dinner Debonair segment that turned into a song-and-dance routine as well as a town hall segment full of 2020 election references and an appearance from future anti-AEW grifter Eric Bischoff. This is more of a storyline match than one based on workrate. Just a slow match that never moved into second gear. MJF was accused of being soft during the build and promised to do anything to win in response. So you imagine he is going to stoop to some really heinous depths to get the win here, but instead the match ends with a rollup finish after a Wardlow distraction. As we know now, this was the first act in a feud that is going to last a long, long time."

Now i do wish we had a little bit more heel ish tendencies from jericho because he is a heel it shoulda been a story of a vet vs a young guy with the vet getting a lot of the upper hand in the match until the finish happens exactly how it did here. The work over the arm of jericho i think was done pretty nicely jericho doing a lot of things he doesnt do to often was nice to see. The finish was done perfectly. 3.50 stars"

[5.0] "Jericho is hit or miss in his AEW, this match is a miss. Indulgent, too long with a screwy finish to further the feud. This felt like a poor retread of Cody vs MJF from Revolution 2020. I feel like MJF shouldn't need to cheat to beat Jericho at this point, after coming so close vs Moxley and failing due to his antics backfiring."

[6.0] "The wrestling was decent here and the story itself was a bit odd to understand & witness as both were heels and used every underhand tactic they know to prove who's the biggest heel among themselves. Jericho's torn out, retired chap mentality was clearly seen here while MJF didn't gel well with him which led to a slow move. The finish was a bit surprising. 3 out of 5 stars!"

hassan01 wrote on 27.11.2020:
[6.0] "This was not good in terms of in ring quality and was placed too high on the card for that purpose. They tried to replicate the Jay White/Taichi match thing with both dirty players looking to prove themselves as the real dirty player of the game . Other than the hurricarana of the top rope by Jericho and the finish with MJF getting the roll up and surprising Jericho there were no other moments to relish upon. It was pretty average , Jericho looked a little weary and MJF needs a story and good psychology to make himself shine as he still lacks in ring skills . ***1/4 . Not impressed."

JokerDeSilva wrote on 09.11.2020:
[6.0] "It was what it was. Decently worked, Jericho still looking astonishing for his age in the ring, and MJF still showing why he's a true future star of the industry, but when he promised to do anything to win, well, maybe I expected more of the vicious psychopath MJF that we saw against Moxley. It was far from a bad match, and I popped big for the finish and the nod to Eddie Guerrero, but I wanted better. That being said, as a breather match between the Tag Title match and Elite Deletion and the main event, it did its job nicely."
texasyosh wrote on 09.11.2020:
[4.0] "Jericho is showing that he's becoming more and more washed each and every week. The man is nearing 50 years old, I think he should hang up the boots soon before his legacy gets questioned more. The ending is good, hopefully this brings some new interest into the Inner Circle, which has not done anything of note since Jericho was world champion. They're supposed to be monster heels yet they lose practically every week."

[7.0] "Ok so I had to watch this twice, and I enjoyed it alot better the second time. It wasn't a very explosive match, and kind of dragged at times, but I really enjoyed the limb work by MJF and it gave Jericho a chance to wrestle as a babyface for the first time in ages."

[5.0] "MJF is a great technical wrestler, his use of psychology is fantastic, his arm work on Jericho throughout this match was decent, loved the countered Judas Effect especially; however he has had better performances than this. Jericho is done as a top performer. Overall this match was a bit on the boring side - ***"
CaptainKabluey wrote on 09.11.2020:
[6.0] "As the story suggested, MJF couldn't outwrestle Jericho, but that wasn't the point. He needed to outheel him. He pulled an Eddie Guerrero move and feinted being hit with Jericho's bat, resulting in a chance for him to get a surprise roll up. MJF wins. Jericho is putting on worse and worse matches recently, like he's just not really putting in any effort anymore, but I mean, the man is 50+. In terms of story, yeah, it worked well, but I think they need to consider pulling back some on using him in the ring unless it really needs to happen. Not just, every PPV because Jericho."
Colt Iken wrote on 09.11.2020:
[7.0] "This was solid if unspectacular aside from the finish. Both Jericho and MJF told their story well and Jericho in particular looked rejuvenated when he working as the default babyface, especially during a sequence in the middle of the match where he seemed to turn back the clock. Overall though the match felt significantly slower than a lot of the better matches on this show and when those matches have a better pace and are also telling their stories at a high level, a match like this is going to suffer. By no means was it bad though and the finish was tremendous, with MJF proving he would do whatever it takes to join the Inner Circle by pulling the old Eddie Guerrero and faking getting hit by the bat, allowing him to distract Jericho and get the roll up. I'm not sure where the angle goes from there but if anyone can make it compelling, it's Jericho, MJF and the rest of the crew, which is loaded with exceptional talent (in and out of the ring) aside from Hager. Good match, great finish, still one of the weaker things on this loaded show."
Dnutz wrote on 09.11.2020:
[8.0] "Great storytelling! Lots of hype the physicality wasn't the best but didn't need to be. MJF is getting better in the ring every match but honestly with his character and stick work . He could be El Gigante bad in the ring and still be over as fuck."
BUIOOMEGA wrote on 09.11.2020:

The moments that I am referring to here are MJF countering Jericho's Judas Effect attempt into his Fujiwara Armbar finish, and then that actual finish of the match w/ him pulling an Eddie. At best this could've been an ego-fueled clash of two huge personalities, but this wasn't it."

[7.0] "Slow , deliberately paced match, with a great finish. It's kind of hard to rate this match to be honest, it was almost like a would-be four-and-a-half star match that never found its way out of second gear. All that said, I enjoyed this match immensely, and popped fairly big for Jericho hitting a picturesque lionsault. Great storytelling, fine workrate, averaging out to a very respectable ***¾ buffer match."

Rocky7 wrote on 08.11.2020:
[7.0] "Two of wrestling's biggest scumbags tried to one up each other in this match, and in the end, MJF lied, cheated and stole his way into the Inner Circle. The intrigue here is how MJF and Wardlow will fit into the group, and how the other members will react to them. Decent stuff here."

[7.0] "MJF vs Jericho was great too. Loved MJF trying to work Jericho's arm after that failed Judas Effect onto the ring post. And I absolutely loved that Jericho played the face in this match even though he didn't have to. Both could have done well as two equal heels. I loved MJF's nuclear heat from copying Jericho's 2010s entrance and entrance jacket. And I LOVED MJF pulling an Eddie Guerrero to help secure the win. I loled hard when I saw him pretend to collapse on the mat with Jericho holding Floyd. The roll-up was a great touch, and the post-match stuff was brilliant."
Matt Macks wrote on 08.11.2020:
[6.0] "For me this match was a bit too slow and plodding in the beginning. It lived off of the charisma of both me, especially Jericho being really over with the live crowd, but the actual in-ring stuff was forgettable mostly. More important was to finish and the implications, with MJF and Wardlow now forcing their way into the Inner Circle."
