314.04.2025KingsCrossing6.0It's not the most exciting match you'll ever see, but it's a good continuation of the story that they started where Nigel used the Pure Title rules to his advantage to win the title from Joe. As Nigel's first defence this does an effective job of setting the stage for the rest of his reign, as Nigel makes use of some underhanded tactics to outsmart Strong and turn the rules of the match against him, much as he did with Joe. Pretty much exactly what it needed to be at this stage in Nigel's reign.
404.02.2025V37.0I enjoyed Nigel work as a heel. Many times, babyfaces looks stupid when a heel do a blatant cheat, but in this case it looked realistic how Nigel is bugging Strong all the match until he loses his cool and Nigel takes the advantage to win the match.
521.09.2024tommyyy17146.0These two have a killer match about 10 months later, this one is more small scale and more about Nigel bending the rules and messing with Strong more than anything but it's a nice little title defence to have. The crowd are all over Nigel in this and he plays it up real well, this match didn't feel designed for Strong to get a huge performance, much more of a Nigel heel showcase than anything.
612.03.2024DB10917.0Nigel really mastered the rules and the ways to make heel work so satisfying in these matches very quickly. He forced the young Strong to throw away rope breaks and wound him up throughout, using the ref's distraction coming from Strong using a closed fist to land one of his own and then beautifully set up the Tower of London. A nice first defence, and the beginnings of the creativity of McGuinness' Pure Rules matches.
713.05.2023Cigarette Salesman A short match in to which Nigel still manages to fit a plethora of glorious heel work, from the pre-match promo to the crowd, to the way he robs Roddy of his rope breaks to the finish. Great stuff.
805.11.2020Mudshow Idol6.0Enjoyable wily heel performance by Nigel with him tricking the greenhorn Strong into giving up his rope breaks and keeping him frustrated. This was solid stuff although it was a bit short and lacking in intensity.
