Bob Sapp, Kazuyuki Fujita, Minoru Suzuki, Shinsuke Nakamura & Yoshihiro Takayama vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Manabu Nakanishi, Seiji Sakaguchi & Yuji Nagata

[9.0] "Traditional Survivor Series rules match between teams NJPW and team Inoki was great. I think they truly executed this concept well, starting with peak entrances and ending with tragic note. This was also last Seiji Sakaguchi match, he gave his all at the start of the match, yet it wasn't enough to last even five minutes - both of his sons were there to cheer for their legendary father. I adore how team Inoki brings the unpredictable element into this, like you can tell these are more of the fighters than wrestlers, so their attacks are more brutal and natural, while wrestlers brought more drama into the bout. Bob Sapp kinda stole the match for me, him jumping on people in the most unexpected moments was a treat to watch, NJPW kinda found a perfect match for him. Ending could have been perfect with crowd being vocal for it, yet I still love the idea of Nagata passing out in Suzuki's Octapus Stretch as a nod to Inoki. One of a kind match that is a must-watch if you wanna dive into 2000s NJPW. ****1/2"

[6.0] "First off, the presentation and entrances for this match is incredible. Both teams coming out one by one to stand on the ramp and look menacing, Bob Sapp especially looking fucking insane. Sakaguchi also comes out with his two sons and you see a young Yukio on the corner just before the match. Seiji is in his 60s here though and he gets eliminated first unsurprisingly. Rest of the match is just under 40 minutes of dudes beating each others asses with little story threads being picked up and brought back and what not. it's a little too long and doesn't grab me like other big NJPW elimination tags like the UWF ones but it's largely a good time."

[7.0] "A wild and crazy ride of a match which gave shine to everybody involved. Definitely goes long but there's always something new happening in the match to keep it fresh. Told a great MMA vs. Pro Wrestling story which ended with the pro-wrestler turned MMA guy getting the win for his team."

[7.0] "The Inoki Army vs. the NJPW Army. I consider this match to be the best 'invaders vs. locals' bout of all time. Nobody felt buried, and somehow even the ageing Sakaguchi and the inexperienced Bob Sapp looked good."

[8.0] "This was a Survivor Series styled elimination match, with the twist that throwing someone from the ring could also eliminate them, which means they get around a few guys having to job as a result. The action is good and the booking actually isn't bad either, as they give both Tanahashi and Nakamura a rub by letting them look good in the match. The exchanges between Tenzan and Takayama make you look forward to their eventual match and Sapp once again gets to look like a huge star, even though he tires a bit in the closing stages. An excellent match and a strong way to end a pretty middling show"
