[7.0] "Not the best match between these two, but they mostly delivered. I'm just not a fan of rushing a match to fit three falls just for the sake of it. It could've been 15 minutes for one fall and been a better match. But it was what it was..."

[8.0] "Very good match as expected between these two. It's surprisingly short for a 2 out of 3 falls match, but theres no wasted motion here whatsoever as not only is it a good technical wrestling match, but it's also really good as a straight up fight as they really put over their hatred for each other as what was going on with the story. Each fall escalated the match as well, particularly with the second fall after Benoit wins the first with the Crossface as he locks in the move again and after Jericho escaped all of his offense really looked devastating where he zeroes in on his back and shoulders and all of it looked very hard hitting and Jericho sells it so well! Jericho's comeback is really good after he wins the second fall as he does a lot of high risk moves to keep Benoit down and it looked very even when Benoit took a leverage pin for the dirty finish. I wish it could have been a bit longer, bit there really was a good sense of urgency and intensity throughout the whole thing!"

[7.0] "Utilises the stipulation well, with three distinct falls, and these two are undeniably well-matched with an engaging rivalry to boost their matches. However I can't help but feel Jericho deserved a boost after taking some big losses at recent PPVs prior to this, and should have taken the win"

[7.0] "This was okay with some cool spots. Jericho shines early, Benoit takes control and gets a crossface tapout early. Benoit stays on Jericho but eventually Jericho gets The Walls for a tie. Jericho hit a nice top rope hurricanrana. The crowd was mostly behind Y2J. Jericho was still relatively new, but he had a steady group of supporters in the crowd, a lot of that, in my opinion, had to do with his charisma. Anyways, the match was okay, could've been better give the workers involved. The 2/3 falls stipulation can be done well, but more time is needed and a midcard match is perhaps not the best spot on the card to do a 2/3 falls match, as each fall felt random and rushed. ***2/4"

[7.0] "Needed to do at least 15-20 minutes honestly. 13 minutes for a 2/3 falls match isnt enough and it felt rushed at times. Started off slow until Benoit got the first half and then it felt like those last two falls were too quick and paced weirdly. The action is obviously good this match just needed more time. 3.5/5"

[7.0] "I wish it was a bit longer so they could make it look like an actual battle, especially since we had so many nothing matches at the beginning, but they still did a very good job. Arrogant, but charismatic Jericho works best when he's against brutal and serious heels and it wasn't different here. They executed every single spot without any trouble and the finish looked perfect."

[8.0] "Could have done with extra time (cut matches 2, 4 & 8), but they did the best they could with 13 measly minutes. A technical brawl with some very entertaining spots, and a great pace about it. Always nice to see the classic Liontamer."
Derek Joists wrote on 08.12.2022:
[8.0] "Really well done 2/3 falls match, especially given the relatively short length. Each fall was different, and both wrestlers showed their range, with the ending allowing for a continuation of the feud. Great stuff."

[7.0] "Fight to the outside and Jericho charges and gets posted. Back in, Benoit goes for the cross face, which is countered to the Liontamer, which Benoit counters, so Jericho catapults him into the corner. German suplex for 2. Benoit reverses a tombstone attempt into a shoulder breaker. Jericho comes back with a Lionsault, which hits knee. Benoit locks on the cross face and Jericho taps around the 3 minute mark to give Benoit the first fall. Benoit goes right back to the move for a quick win but Jericho fights to the ropes. Benoit rams Jericho's shoulder to the post a few times to wreck it. Jericho fights back, but falls prey to pair of rolling German suplexes. He reverses the third to the Liontamer and Benoit taps at 8:35 by my count. One fall apiece. Jericho with a flying elbow for two. They trade power bomb reversals and do a pinning combo and the crowd likes it. Benoit pulls out the rare dragon suplex for 2. They fight on the top and Jericho hits a superfrankensteiner, and gets a two count. Jericho hits a pair of clotheslines and a heel kick for another 2. Lionsault hits, but Jericho comes down on the bad shoulder in the process. They go through a pinning combination sequence and they get close enough to the ropes that Benoit grabs em and braces for the 3. Nothing solved here, but a good match."

[8.0] "This was short for a 2/3 falls match but these two make the best use of the time given. The match starts with a ugly brawl, when the ref is able to get those two to calm down Benoit starts working on Jericho's left shoulder and gets the first fall after slapping on the crossface. Benoit's desperation to get another fall immediately afterwards and keeping the crossface applied was great. Jericho got Benoit to tap out the next fall and we got a very competitive back and forth contest up until Benoit won via roll-up after holding onto the ropes.****"

[9.0] "One of the best Jericho vs. Benoit matches out there. The two out of three falls stipulation was great, and I loved the callback spots from their previous encounters that they did here. The match features some beautiful chain wrestling, and Benoit is as smooth as silk. Jericho hangs in well, and does a great job at being the underdog. The only things that let this one down for me are some moves feeling a bit off, and the finish is kind of cheap. But hey it continued the feud, and would lead to more great Benoit vs. Jericho matches."

[7.0] "Yet another really good match in their feud. This was surprisingly short for a two out of three falls match, but they worked very well together to make it interesting. Both men tapping out relatively early to make the match 1-1 was a twist, and they had a very competitive match to decide the last fall. They had done better stuff than this in the past, but this was still enjoyable and a very good match. ***1/2"

[8.0] "Give these guys 15 minutes and a 2 out of 3 falls stipulation and they'll do the best they possibly can in the time given. The match starts with an intense ugly brawl, because why wouldn't they? It makes sense because of the feud. I love Benoit getting the first fall with the crossface and then immediately trying to win the second fall with it again. It shows his desperation yet there's still logic behind it. They also managed to implement some good psychology with Benoit targeting Jericho's shoulder and Jericho, as usual, sells it to perfection and it ties into the finish. There was really nothing wrong with this match, just wish it got the chance to go longer. ****"

[8.0] "A good match between two amazing wrestlers. The physiology of the match was great with how they adjusted to the match being a 2/3 falls and the story was good and really got you invested in the match. It was very fun to watch and very enjoyable as it always is with these two in the ring. The only issue is it would have been better if there was more time because 3 falls in less than 15 minutes is a bit unrealistic however they covered it up well with the final fall being by cheating. Overall as good match and in my opinion ****"

I watched the match expecting some technical ability but 3 minutes into watching it, I didn't realize it was a grudge match. It was a decent 2 out of 3 Falls Match but I wasn't a very big fan of the dirty finish. Benoit as a heel shouldn't have to win that way."
