Bobby Eaton vs. Brad Armstrong

[8.0] "That was one heck of a match. First time rewatching in a long time. Either one of them dudes could have a great match with just about anyone on the planet. Really enjoyed it."

[6.0] "Eaton's single run had been a bit of a disappointment until here. I thought he was great here and looked like he gelled well with Brad Armstrong, who returned following Ole's firing. Not much storytelling, but it was great back to basics pro wrestling by two guys who can put together a great midcard match with great psychology. I love Eaton's backbreakers too. He knows how to set one up and execute it wonderfully. And I loved the fact they went 12 minutes. It flowed wonderfully. ***1/4"

[5.0] "What a difference from the opener. Two guys with their working-boots strapped up tight even if they needed to cut down on the rest spots to get the crowd back. Eaton's leg drop was beautiful."

[7.0] "Excellent wrestling which is to be expected from these guys. Technically smooth, good psychology and great transitions throughout. It was hurt by Eaton playing heel but the crowd wanting to cheer him, and also there wasn't a lot of stakes to this, so while it was great in a vacuum, it didn't really mean anything."

[7.0] "This was an all around solid wrestling match. It would have been nice if they could get the crowd involved more, but it's a match between someon still viewed as a tag guy and someone the fans never really cared about at all."

[7.0] "Eaton's control segment is a touch flat but for the most part, the work here is lovely. It's very much an undercard match, colouring inside the lines but doing so with noticeable efficiency. Very neat stuff from two fabulous pros, even with minimal heat. ***1/4"

[6.0] "Bobby Eaton's control segment was flat however these two had a really fine pro wrestling match. Armstrong with the ehad scissors and the climbing over Eaton to escape the test of strength holds in the beginning ruled. Loved the Randy Anderson catching Eaton holding the rope on the Abdominal Stretch. Nice leg drop from Eaton. Solid match. 3 Stars"

[6.0] "Another very solid match from Eaton in a singles competition, this time against always impressive Armstrong. Brad's physical abilities were on full display here and he even got the crowd behind him in the middle of the match, while Bobby might have not been the most charismatic guy, but his ring psychology was top notch."

[7.0] "This would have been a much better choice for the opening match. Two very sound wrestlers with great fundamentals, a classic babyface and a classic heel - this was bound to be solid at the very least. I can imagine some fans finding this to be a little dry, but sometimes it can be nice to get back to basics and enjoy a match that embraces simplicity and highlights pro wrestling in its purest form."

[6.0] "This was a decent little match that helped get the bad taste of the opener out of my mouth. These two are both great workers. Honestly, while this was a good match I think these two could've had a better one. There was a little too much reliance on rest holds at points in this match but I still overall enjoyed this one. Bobby Eaton is on the path of probably his biggest singles push."

[5.0] "They mention Brad Armstrong has a brother fighting overseas in the war. I can only assume this was Road Dogg. Brad Armstrong can be great when he wants to be, but he can also be unbelievably boring when he doesn't care. I don't think he cared on this day. He REALLY wanted to keep Eaton in an arm bar. Eaton, I never really bought into as s singles guy. I think he was best as The Midnight Express, but without Cornette, it would've lost its luster to get a new partner. This was a boring match and that's coming from someone who usually likes both guys."

[5.0] "Gets off to a great start but Jesus H. Christ just boring rest hold central for most of it afterwards."

[7.0] "Eaton was always good of course but Armstrong surprised me here as he was pretty awesome too. Slight hidden gem perhaps. Armstrong pulled off some really athletic moves and Eaton brought great heel psychology. ***1/2"
