| 11 | 05.01.2022 | arrancar | 7.0 | A fun, standard 5STAR GP match. There were some fine grappling exchanges to start before Konami started giving a good aggressive beatdown. Mayu bumped and sold very well for it, and she later got a nicely energetic comeback. That led into both women going 50/50 in their exchanges. They didn't hit anything especially great, but mostly everything they did was still really good. The only issue I noticed was that Konami was a bit sloppy and awkward with a few of her big spots and transitions, but the rest of her offence was really good. Mayu was strong all-around as usual, looking far more like both a star and work horse than Konami. I liked how progressively threatening Konami's various submissions became, and she was also getting some convincing near falls off of her power moves. Konami transitioning from her Lancer to a mounted triangle kimura made for a very cool finish, with Mayu's flexibility making it look even more brutal. A longer length, and of course a vocal crowd, would have elevated this far more, but I still liked it as it was. ***1/4 |

Konami was truly the star of this entire tournament and Mayu did bring her A-Game especially in this main event. Edit: Is 13 minutes long to people? I think that's a weird opinion as it felt more like 15 but in a good way, the pacing was Konami's pacing, methodical yet hard hitting, and Mayu played under because she's great at being an underdog when she needs to be. |

Überraschender Sieg von Konami, die sich in Position für ein Titelmatch bringt und vor allem ein erstaunliche Niederlage von Mayu durch Submission, was man in der Form nur selten sieht. Ich kann mich nicht erinnern ob ich das in diesem Jahr überhaupt schon gesehen habe. Vermutlich nicht. Der einzige klitzekleine Kritikpunkt liegt für mich darin, dass Konami die falsche Schulter bearbeitet hat. Mayu's rechte Schulter war getaped. Es hätte noch glaubhafter gewirkt, wenn die Submission über diesen Arm erfolgt wäre. Ansonsten aber ein unterhaltsames und gutes Match. |

Mayu is a top champion, but everyone in their promos make her and their intention to beat her even more important. This was an awesome tournament match - everyone who faces Iwatani decides to find another gear, get to the next level and make themselves famous. A lot of brutal offense, not a moment was wasted, just great pro-wrestling. Two years ago, Konami defeated a World of STARDOM Champion in 5 Star Grand Prix, Kagetsu, but this win feels like the biggest win in Konami's career, especially because Iwatani, who almost never taps out, tapped out. Konami is a bigger deal after this match than she was before it, without a doubt, Mayu Iwatani's superb selling made the difference. I'd say this match was on a level of Iwatani/Giulia match, which is the best match of the tournament so far. ****½ |

She's always been great at this kind of controlling wrestling but I guess I expected more dominance from the champ. Either way though, real good match with a result that I'm very happy with. |

However the (forcefully) silent crowd really killed the atmosphere of an otherwise white hot match. As an aside just when you think "why isn't Konami pushed to the Moon? " she delivers one of her usual terrible promos and the wheels fall of the wagon. |
