[6.0] "I have to say that this match is the best on this dreaded card.Benoit and Sid both play their role very well.Sid sold his leg like a professional and Benoit take advantage. In the end it's too much sid to endure and loses the match.Allowing Benoit to become champion and then he left the company"
[5.0] "Bret Hart retired and the belt was vacated.......again and this is the match to crown a new champ. A bunch of WCW guys come out to watch the match. Sid starts on offense with a nasty forward press slam that Benoit sells very well. Crowd is on Sid's side. Benoit dropkicks the knee to put Sid down. They go outside and he dropkicks the steps into Sid's leg, twice. Figure four back in the ring, reversed by Sid. Chris continues working on the knee, including a bridged Indian death lock. Sid fights back to his feet, but Benoit dropkicks his knee again. Sid comes back with a power slam for two, but Benoit hooks an ankle lock. German suplex and Benoit hits the swan dive headbutt for two. Sid gets a last gasp with a big ass choke slam for two, but Benoit is in the ropes. Sid argues with Arn, and Benoit hooks the cross face from behind and gets the submission almost immediately even though Sid's leg is under the ropes. Goldberg couldn't get Sid to quit and they were playing it up for months that the dude would never quit. Backstage Benoit does his victory speech and Kevin Nash interrupts and says the nWo is gonna mess things up for him. That's okay he walked out for the WWF right after this show."
[4.0] "Benoit's final WCW match, but unlike the others he actually made an effort - but there's only so much anybody could do with Sid at this point. Presumably the screwy ending was because they knew he was leaving and could strip the title from him, but they could have just had him lose..."
[7.0] "This match is nothing short of a minor miracle, and probably the best singles match Sid ever had (much better than with Michaels at Survivor Series, IMO)."
[6.0] "Good effort by Benoit, and not too bad of a match, but I have to disagree with people who put this on the same level as Sid's match with Shawn as this didn't come close."
[5.0] "Benoit a late call up to the title picture. Sid seems to not have a game plan. Benoit very intense. Whole locker room piled out onto the entrance ramp to make it feel like a proper championship match, but lacked desperation along with the screwy quick finish didn't feel right."
