323.04.2025aka PRI1.0After ad annoying and sloppy brawling there is is an incredible no sense spam of overbooking things, with a lot of intrusions and a very shamed final. The worst Hell in a Cell in history finished in no contest for the another Brock Lesnar's intrusion.
420.03.2025Gravelord2.0This match was about what you would expect from a HIAC bout from this era of WWE. It mostly consisted of bland brawling in the ring area between the ring and the cell walls, with the occasional weapon spot. Even the obligatory table bump was underwhelming, as it saw Reigns simply spear Braun through a single table, a spot the two had already done a ton of times prior to this match. In essence, the match felt slow and played out, and that is before the interferences from Zigger, McIntyre, Rollins and Ambrose occurred. Those just ground what was already a slow match to a halt. While the four brawled with each other outside and on top of the cell, Reigns and Strowman just lay on the mat for what seemed like an eternity. It was totally ridiculous and broke any suspension of disbelief I had. I've seen Roman and Braun get up from much worse much quicker than what they inflicted on each other during the bout for it to be in any way credible. Also, the brawl on top of the cell was as lame as it always is. I never understand why they tease throwing someone off of the top of the cell only to almost never deliver on it. Actually, in this case it was more egregious as Rollins and Ziggler began climbing down the cell only to... cause each other to fall halfway down through the announce tables? It looked totally hokey because they both very clearly just jumped of their own initiative through obviously set-up to be destroyed commentary tables. Oh, and the less said about the finish of the match the better. It was total shit. Ending a HIAC by way of no contest is utterly moronic and just betrays how dangerous the stipulation is supposed to be regarded. The fact that they did it again the year after this in Rollins vs. the Fiend is indicative of just how miserable WWE's product had become by Vince's final years at the helm. Bad, bad match. *1/4

1509.09.2024KayfabeZone5.0One of the worst Hell in a Cell matches ever. The prolonged brawl between Rollins, Ambrose, Ziggler and Drew was completely unnecessary and went on forever. It was laughable how Roman and Braun just stopped fighting for almost 10 minutes while these 4 brawled on top of the cell just for Ziggler and Seth to take announce table bumps to get a holy shit chant. The action in the ring was just serviceable enough. Brock causing mayhem was fun but the no contest finish is just ridiculous. [**1/4]

1802.09.2024FelipeTalksGraps0.0[DUD] This match is just a disaster. The crowd was completely off, the action was in slow motion, even the Shields run-in was bad because Seth and Dolph literally jumped for their own on the tables, and the grand finale was a No Contest in a fucking Hell In a Cell match. Disastrous.

2008.08.2024brooksavage20041.0This was just horrible. Roman and Braun's chemistry against each other from their previous matches was severely lacking, the in ring work was awful anyway, the rest of The Shield, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre came in and caused unnecessary havoc outside the cell and Brock Lesnar came and busted into the cell ending the match in no contest and screwing Braun's MITB cash in. Horrible HIAC match and the worst HIAC endings until a year later.

2428.06.2024Rassle Fan0.0A no contest in a cage match, hell in a cell or otherwise, is so mind bogglingly stupid that Cagematch should allow negative numbers for this one match. Not to mention that it was the main event and wasn't even close to being worthy of that spot. 2018 was probably the darkest year of the Roman Reigns of terror. He main evented a few ppvs that year over world title matches. Insane and part of what drove me away from WWE for a solid 3 years save for checking results. Even if they objectively put on the greatest cage match of all time no one was going to care because few fans were into Braun and that's still the case.

2714.06.2024ColdSpoons1.0One of my least favorite hell in the cell matches of all time. The match sucked before the terrible Brock return. Hell in the cell matches should never end in a no contest. This one at least didn't go down to Rollins vs Fiend levels. Still does not give an excuser for how much of a failure this match was.

2906.06.2024NickJammer22214.0Easily the worst match between these two and the booking did not help one bit. They didn't want to have Strowman lose his cash in so just had Brock interfere and make the match a no contest. In a Hell in a Cell where the point is that it ends when it ends.

3106.05.2024drexeldragon17233.0Strowman and Reigns actually have awesome chemistry and they had an insane feud in 2017. This wasn't quite on that level even before the overbooked nonsense. It was fine but then the two guys are laid out for 8 minutes after a spear through a table so that Rollins, Ambrose, McIntyre and Ziggler can come out and brawl on the cell. What was the point of this? These guys just had an EXCELLENT tag-title match. Let that breathe. No one was even defending anyone in the match. It was just a brawl for the sake of it. Rollins and Ziggler fell off the side through announce tables in the most carefully planned spot of all-time. Then Lesnar breaks in, hits F5s on both guys and they can't continue? Didn't Roman literally attempt murder on Braun the year earlier by running him over with a semi only for Braun to walk away from it? Isn't the referee in this match the guy that fell off the cell AND through the cell then finished the match? And Mick added nothing as referee. He even botched a count. This did nobody any favors, I guess except Lesnar who didn't need it.

3410.03.2024sarahlicity2.0It's not as stupid as the finish of Hell in a Cell 2019, but that's damning with faint praise. Really, a no contest result to a HIAC match makes no sense, and it only served to bury Strowman in mediocrity until his eventual release (even with the intervening title win later on).

4430.11.2023Burner1.0Everyone remembers the disastrous "Fiend" Hell in a Cell match, but few remember that basically the same thing happened just a year earlier when Strowman vs. Reigns went to a no contest (or more specifically, a "who gives a fuck here's the logo goodbye").

5021.07.2023bigredtalk892.0Why does everyone hate this match? Because it was Strowman's MITB Cash in, and they didn't know how to finish it so it ends via Brock interferring. Why would that end the match? Because it does, for some reason. Garbage match, if you didn't want to commit to Strowman, OR book him to lose, don't make the match.

6406.05.2022Shadow Explosion0.0An extremely boring Hell in a Cell match ended with a nonsensical no contest finish, this is one of the myriad of reasons Hell in a Cell should not be a PPV and why it should stay as a feud ender, hst put somebody over!
6519.02.2022Garmonbozia5.0It was a fine match. They used different weapons. People get involved and then Brock Lesnar appears.

7024.11.2021Sky231.0Oh hey, remember when Strowman, McIntyre and Ziggler were the most rubbish heel trio in modern WWE history' Remember when there was a 10 MINUTE DOUBLE DOWN so the workers' friends could screw around on the top of the cage and cause a big bump that Braun and/or Roman wouldn't do' Remember when Brock Lesnar showed up to basically invalidate the match and remind everyone who we should really be caring about' If Roman and Braun were the ones WWE were intent on building to hyperstardom (viz. their other booking), they did a pretty piss-poor job at demonstrating it in this match.

7504.08.2021burninho1.0the fact they pass out for10 minutes for a simple table spot just for ziggler mcintyre ambrose and rollins to play at the top of the cage is completely silly and the no contest ending is a disgrace. the inring action was otherwise decent in the beginning but the horrendous booking ruined what could have been a great match

7823.06.2021HV851060.0this was pretty bad. like, really bad. the fact that fiend/rollins got way more buzz than this astounds me. how were people not screaming to defund the network? that's beyond my comprehension. Braun and Roman never had the greatest chemistry but at least they tried to make it work in the past. this was just a pure afterthought, the Hell in a Cell stipulation likely tacked on just to focus on the Rollins/Ziggler fight on top of the cell, and then at the end, Brock destroys the two competitors and the match is a no-contest? At least Fiend/Rollins made sense within the context of the story they were telling. this is just a pure fail in every sense. *
7902.05.2021TheLegitBoss7.0This was once again a solid match between Strowman and Reigns, never as good as their various 2017 bouts but still a fun HIAC outing. I know I'm in the minority saying this as many thought this match was awful, most notably because of the abrupt ending with Lesnar and the fact that a Hell In A Cell ends in a No Contest, but the match itself was definitely cool to me. I liked a lot of the spots like the Spear through the table, and the wrestling was fun to watch. All I didn't like was the presence of Mick Foley who was completely useless and even botched a pinfall at one point by counting 3 instead of 2, I still don't understand why he was special referee for this match. The ending is obviously the most talked about but personally I didn't mind it, Lesnar's surprise return was great and the bump that Ziggler & Rollins took was phenomenal. This match has a lot of flaws like that huge overbooking at the end, but overall I thought it was a solid HIAC match.
8013.04.2021arkhamoutlaw106.0Fun action as Roman was always Braun's best opponent (the 2017 feud made the guy worth watching) but the non finish is a complete waste of Roman's only Universal Title defence and the Hell in a Cell stipulation. Lesnar returning would have been cool if it came afterwards and there was no need for the tag team brawling on top of the cell. Just make it two hosses throwing down with Roman picking up the win and facing down a returning Lesnar for the final shot of the night. Instead, they messed it up.
8119.01.2021Oregano Jackson3.0A terribly booked match, this was more of an angle than a brutal HIAC war - which it easily could've been given the history b/w the two competitors. The match goes around 25 minutes but nearly half of the run time is given to the stupid Ambrose/Rollins and Ziggler/McIntyre brawl, and then of course, one of the worst endings to a HIAC match ever with Brock just ending the match because.... idk. With the time that was given to them, both guys tried to make this memorable but sadly failed; the ring work was good but lacked the energy, intensity, and pure ludicrous insanity of their 2017 bouts. Add to that an exhausted crowd and you've got one of the worst HIAC matches ever.
