[6.0] "[3.0*] Man.. yea this was solid enough. The match was mostly okay until like the final couple of minutes "(since the elbow from the top -that really turns this from 'okay' to good, and the things after also.. liked the finish, was creative in a funny way. The crowd also."

[7.0] "It was enjoyable, not that much work rate but it's a cage match so I understand not to really expect much. There were a lot of moments where I was questioning the wrestlers in kayfabe, and decisions they were making that could've ended the match. This was The Rock's turning point in becoming a huge fan favorite. ***1/2"

[7.0] "This was a good three person match with a good finish with Rock pinning Shamrock while Mick was crawling down the side"

[8.0] "Pretty nice. Great action from everybody all around. Mankind flying off the cage is a big highlight as is Rock getting a nice reaction from the crowd. Shamrock was even given some good bits too. Commentary was actually quite enjoyable, I did enjoy the back and forth. The ending was pretty nice, as well as Rock getting bloodied a little bit."

[8.0] "There's a few problems with the structure with everyone able to win the match by escaping through the cage door, but other than that it is a very well paced and entertaining match with a lot of great spots here. Foley's crash and burn of the top of the cage happened just three months after his numerous injuries in the Hell in the Cell match. It's just insane to watch everything he was doing for the business around this time. It's well structured as a Triple Threat match as well where you don't see too many dead spots in it and The Rock's overwhelming popularity with the crowd gave the match a really good atmosphere. They loved the double People's Elbow spot. The finish was creative even if it was slightly illogical where Mankind knocks out Shamrock with a chair and The Rock steals the pin while Mankind decides to climb over the cage."

The crowd was very loud and cheered strongly for Mankind and Rocky, while booing Shamrock, which only shows how over these two guys got lately. I liked that they rushed to the door instead of slowly crawling like a lot of guys do, plus it was nice to see some cooperation between them, instead of one wrestler just waiting for his turn. The finish was very clever and kept all of the guys looking strong."

While Rock was getting immensely popular and had the Canadian crowd in the palm of his hand, Shamrock brought in some great intensity and violence, while Mankind was the glue that kept the match going and flowing, while bringing his death-defying nature. A pretty underrated cage match where all the guys got over, but especially the Rock."

[7.0] "Rock is the baby face in Canada, and they hate Shamrock. Ken beats Rocks ass then Rock fights back knocking down Shamrock and Mankind. Shamrock like an idiot tries an abdominal stretch 3 minutes into a triple threat cage match. Rock and Mankind teaming up and beating on Shamrock. Then Rock turns on Mankind and he and Shamrock team up. Shamrock goes for the ankle lock on Mankind so Rock breaks it up. Mankind and Shamrock double-team Rock and the crowd boos like nuts. Rock ddt's Mankind, spinning DDT on Shamrock. Rock sets them up and hits the double peoples elbow! Crowd loved that one, only took him a year and a half to get the move over. Rocky tries to climb out but gets stopped. Rocky crotches Shamrock and Rockbottoms Mankind for two. Shamrock sucks chant. Shamrock with the belly to belly and ankle lock on Rock but Mankind breaks it up. Mankind tries to climb out but Rocky stops him. Rocky is holding onto him by the hair and gets him to the top of the cage. Shamrock climbs up to join him but gets knocked off. Rocky gets knocked off and Mankind goes to the top of the cage but misses the elbow and Mankind is sporting a Dude Love shirt underneath his dress shirt but the commentators ignore it. All three are KO'D in the middle until Shamrock crawls for the door. Rocky is busted open. Shamrock gets pulled in by Mankind and brings a chair in with him. Mankind DDTs Ken and gets the chair, nailing Shamrock to a pop. Mick climbs out of the cage throwing away his chance to win while Rock merely rolls over for the pin. I liked it."

The story didn't affect the match much, but made for some odd alliances and weird heel/face dynamics in the match which don't help it on a rewatch. The action is all pretty good, with the expected crazy bumps from Mankind, and the Rock having the crowd pretty much fully behind him for the first time. Shamrock was pretty much there to take the pin."

The action in this is pretty good with everyone teaming up with one another at one point, had some fun moments like Rock's double people elbow which the crowd exploded for, and Foley doing a diving elbow off the top of the cage but crashing and burning. Mankind sold the ending perfectly.***3/4"

Mankind is the glue that holds it all together and the match itself ends up being really good. Definitely the highlight of this show and well worth checking out if you've never seen it. The WON rating is fair IMO"

[8.0] "One of the most underrated matches I've ever seen. Fun action, great spots like the double people's elbow, double abdominal stretch and the Foley dive from the top of the cage, and the match itself is very unique, can't remember a lot of triple threat steel cage matches ever happening. MOTN by far ***3/4"

Mankind performs with reckless abandon, Shamrock comes off as violent and dangerous, and The Rock shows all of the potential that would transform him into a legend in the coming months. As a huge Foley fan, the finish always made a young Sea Anemone very angry."

[8.0] "The best match of IYH Breakdown. Nice use of the Steel Cage with Shamrock being the MMA guy who seems more dangerous. Mankind has his classic bumps, The Rock the top performer, this time with the crowd on his side for no reasons at all. Also, the ending deserves a special spot, it's funny, I don't think the timing was perfect but Mankind reaction was perfect. ***3/4"
