Jacko Victory & Rip Morgan vs. Mr. Saito & The Great Muta

[3.0] "The only person in the ring here with any edge is Great Muta but this was a boring match which left me very apathetic"

[4.0] "The crowd is pretty rubbish so far in this event but they can't really be blamed as the booking is questionable at best. That continues here as we get a Japanese team that clearly hasn't teamed up all that regularly against a boring ass New Zealand Militia. Having Muta back for one night is super fun but beyond that there's not a lot going on here."

[4.0] "This was not very exciting. Jacko Victory and Rip Morgan did nothing to get people into them. The Japanese team looked pretty good, but the Great Muta was there, so what do you expect."

[4.0] "Similar to the previous match these four guys barely got any reactions - only Muta was getting decent pops whenever he popped out with some of his impressive offense. But also the structure was really meh, they didn't build much excitement and they had to go home quickly."

[3.0] "This was probably saved by being short, because it was pretty awkward while it lasted. Muta and Saito were fine, but 'The Royal Family' didn't look great at all. The idea of having so many different styles represented in the tournament is interesting, but in practice it just resulted in a bunch of matches where the competitors don't mix very well."

[5.0] "This was fine. The Japanese team obviously looks real good compared to most other wrestlers in the company and its a shame they didn't get some real competition here. But yeah, they look good and it at least makes you excited for them to meet a better team, even if the results of that aren't much better."

[2.0] "Much like the last match, this also wasn't that good. This was only good to get Muta back in the fold at WCW. Jack Victory and Rip Morgan were fine together but I just wasn't interested in this unfortunately. This tournament was mostly lackluster in my opinion; bad execution of a decent concept."

[4.0] "Muta returns to WCW after leaving earlier in the year to go back to Japan. Jack Victory, who is from New Zealand as much as I am, reforms his team with Rip Morgan, to lose to Muta and Saito, who is famously known to have been with Ken Patera the night he was arrested for destroying a McDonald's. I don't care what anyone says. The crowd loved Muta back then despite working primarily as a heel. Match was too short to get a decent rating."

[2.0] "This wasn't good. The Japanese team carried it, and of course they had a better match with better opponents later in the night."

[4.0] "Just a bog standard match here. Good to see Muta but the Royal Family team pretty much sucked. The Japanese team definitely carried this one to make it just about passable **"

[4.0] "Quite similar to all the other quarter final matches, only this one has a face that the people recognize and therefore was more entertaining. Still, not much more than an extended workout to showcase the team that would eventually advance. [*1/2]"

[4.0] "What a weird tournament, a lot of short matches between wrestlers who didn't match up very well stylistically. It was nice to see Muta again but I think he'd already started phoning in his US appearances. Saito was more impressive really."
