Goldust vs. The Ultimate Warrior

[0.0] "Barely can even be considered a match. One move is done the entire time. The rest is them wasting time by stalling. If Goldust was too injured to work, they could have done the spot they did and then throw Warrior a substitute match of some sort. There are other matches I've seen that are worse as a match than this one is, but considering this just BARELY can even quality AS a match makes it bad on a different level. An absolute waste of time."

[0.0] "Goldust was injured so why didn't they call an audible and have a replacement for him? An absolute waste of time. Made Warrior look an absolute idiot. And every fan deserved a refund for this complete waste of time. This was literally the start of when WCW was going to destroy the WWF."

[0.0] "This wasn't even a match, more than a match, this was more a segment. With Goldust and Warrior there doing a scene, sitting on Goldust chair in the ring, smoking a cigar, like with Hunter Hearst Helmsley Ultimate Warrior doesn't sell or make the new star look strong, and ends up making the new talent look weak like here, at least he didn't win the Intercontinental Title and was a count out win. 0/10 [DUD]"

[0.0] "To be honest i didn't even think this was a match - more of a segment than anything as i wasn't expecting to give this a rating - but as a match well it's not even a match so have to give it a 0"

[0.0] "Interminable stalling, gratuitous homophobia, a match that doesn't actually ever happen, and a countout nothing finish. There is literally nothing to like here. Also: the Ultimate Warrior was a homophobic piece of garbage both in and out of kayfabe, I guess!"

[0.0] "I would like to scream into the void after having to endure this. Like the backlot brawl from WM XII with Goldust, this isn't really a match. Unlike that, this isn't entertaining at all in the slightest. There's no wrestling here. None. The only bumps that happen are from Mantaur, who is repackaged here as Goldust's bodyguard dressed as a 1930's mobster for reasons that were never explained. I'm just not sure what this was even supposed to accomplish other than being able to advertise a Warrior "match" for the card. If you enjoy seeing Goldust stall for 10 minutes while Warrior smokes a cigar in a chair in the middle of the ring, this one is for you."

[0.0] "Not even a match. Goldust is injured so they stall forever wasting everyone's time in the process, why not just put Warrior with someone else?"

[1.0] "I guess the Warrior still has a couple of months left in his return attempt before he again runs out the back door, this time for the last time until his Hall of Fame Induction. This was nonsense. Goldust is obviously injured, so instead of cancelling the match, they just did a bunch of stalling which led to nothing."

[0.0] "Goldust was injured, but why didn't they just simple cancelled the match in the first place because of that? Instead it was just nothing but stalling and a horrible count out finish after an actual move was made, what was of a match and everyone's time."

[0.0] ""What's going on! ? " proclaims McMahon on commentary and I think we are all collectively asking the same question. This begs the question "what even is a match" this is effectively two guys dicking about in the ring for about five minutes and a single clothesline. Yes I know Dustin was injured but this match should not of gone ahead. Also the irony is not lost on me that in the ring is a poor taste homosexual stereotype and homophobe. Just total drek."

[7.0] "Dustin Rhodes is so locked in with this character that even a comedy non-match match is still really fun and entertaining to me. I'm not a big Ultimate Warrior fan but he was also really fun in psyching out Golddust. If you're a Warrior fan, I can see being bummed that he doesn't actually wrestle, but especially considering this was thrown together last minute to account for Dustin getting injured, I thought it was a great time and a nice breather between matches."

[1.0] "It's so long, my God. Goldust stalls forever going near backstage and back to the ring area and it just doesn't stop. I guess it could work as a quick angle but it just takes forever for them to get to the ring. In the middle of that Rhodes threatens the crowd that he will kiss everybody so we even have some gay panic bollocks included and the payoff is horrible with Warrior barely doing anything to Dustin in the end."

[0.0] "One of the worst "matches" I've ever seen. And I use the term "matches" very loosely as there is only ONE wrestling move hit in 8 minutes. I don't blame Goldust or Warrior though, as Goldust injured his knee legit on the pre-show doing a segment with Warrior. This match could have easily been delayed until the next PPV or RAW and have the other matches be given more time."

[2.0] "The Ultimate Warrior smoked a cigar. Goldust was gonna kiss everyone in the crowd. Yeah, not that good."

[0.0] "As others have mentioned, Goldust injured his knee just before the PPV meaning he couldn't work, but I guess they didn't want to drop the advertised match... So instead they just sent them out there to... well, not have a match.... It's literally all stalling, a clothesline and a count out. The definition of a zero, because there was no actual match."

[0.0] "This has to be THE worst WWF ppv match of 1996! This match wasn't supposed to go down like this but there was a work during the Free For All where Warrior was doing an interview and Goldust threw gold powder in his face, Warrior chased him and GD legitimately fell down and hurt his knee or something, totally wrecking whatever match there would have been. Warrior and Goldust stall for well over 5 minutes. Warrior sits in the directors chair puffing on Marlenas cigar then when GD finally gets in the ring Warrior clotheslines him out and GD is counted out at around the 7 minute mark. During the stalling Warrior beats up GD's bodyguard who used to be Mantaur."

[0.0] "It's not a match, and they don't do an especially good job of being entertaining to work around the limitations of Goldust's injury. I ALMOST want to give this a 1, just for the Mantaur cameo, but nah, this is just nothing."

[0.0] "This isn't even a match. Understandably, they didn't do anything of significance as Goldust was injured, but still, apparently they needed to wheel out Warrior to make an attempt at improv comedy (Warrior can't do improv comedy, surprisingly enough). Then Goldust gets in the ring, a move happens, he gets out, and suddenly there's countouts' When in the last 10 whole ass minutes (which is what it felt like) there isn't. Anyone with a brain cell could tell this was a bad idea, but no one with a brain cell was working for WWF in 1996 apparently."

[0.0] "What in the hell was this abomination. It consisted mostly of a homophobe smoking a cigar in the ring. Somehow Goldust did not get counted out while being outside the ring for five minutes and then'.was counted out. Trash."

[0.0] "I've always been a fan of Dustin Rhodes, but no matter how good he is, he's not Rick Rude or Randy Savage, who could have a good match with the Ultimate Warrior. For all 7 minutes almost anything happened and almost half of this time the Warrior just smoked a cigar. It was a dumb segment which should not have been on the PPV."

[0.0] "So Goldust was legitimately injured on the preshow less than an hour before this, which explains why there wasn't anything resembling a match, but doesn't explain why they went this particular route. Asking Warrior to improvise anything was a bad idea, and him working with Goldust has obvious issues. The match is literally 8 minutes of stalling, following at least 5 minutes of introductions, with - again literally - one actual moment of wrestling when Warrior clotheslines Goldust. While it's understandable that there wasn't a match, it's not acceptable how they handled it. One of the worst "matches" in WWE history."

[0.0] "Obviously this is complete nonsense, but I went in hoping for a "so bad it's good" match and unfortunately this isn't that. It doesn't make any kind of sense even in the most basic way, since the bell rings but Goldust doesn't get counted out for over 5 minutes, but then later on the 10 count is functioning as normal. It's mostly just Warrior puffing on Marlena's joke shop cigar and fiddling with Goldust's robe and chair to bait him into the ring. It actually sounds a lot better than it is, since it should be pretty funny, but it actually isn't. Just dreadful stuff and a complete waste of time."
