[7.0] "It shows how great the characterisation really was when the crowd are this crazy for it as this throughout the whole match! Honkey Tonk is a classic chickenshit heel where he keeps running away from Savage whenever he's in a fair fight and finds frustrating ways to keep a cheap advantage with a lot of interference from Jimmy Hart as well as targeting Elizabeth several times to keep him unfocused. Savage was always great at these kind of matches, especially because of how he sells and also his energy when he starts to make a comeback. It's just impossible not to cheer for him. Honkey eventually finds a cheap way to keep his title by count out and there was a great moment after the match where he tries to hit Macho Man with his guitar and Elizabeth puts herself in front of him which it buys him just enough time to fight back. Savage was clearly on to bigger things, while this was one of many times Tonk managed to salvage his title in a cheap way."

Every move carried the crowd away and gave real importance to what was happening in the ring. The rivalry goes on and on, but it's far more gripping than the one between Steele and Savage. In-ring quality: 0.5/4. Stakes: 1.5/2. Justification: 1/1. Place on the map: 0.75/1. Suspense: 1/1. Bonus/Malus: none. Total: 5.75/10. Match seen on the WWE Network."

But it didnt matter as Savage beat the crap out of him and Jimmy Hart anyway. And Savage will be given the WWF title as a makeshift anyway. This is a short but effective match with an incredible angle afterwards. Honky gets his comeuppance but keeps the belt, which is what he wanted. Its a win-win situation which is rare when politics come to the forefront. ***"

Everything is hot, everything is important, the finish is of the non variety and chaos of some form ensues. This has a happy enough ending though. Don't worry about Savage, his career will be fine. Ok so the memory. My childhood friends and I were chanting "Go Macho Go! Go Macho Go! " and I accidentally once said "Go Honk-I - uh, I mean Go Savage Go! " lol. 7.25"

He was never again near the main event and was driven out of wrestling his own selfish choices. So Savage has to settle for a count out win instead of the I-C Title here. But it was enough to settle their feud and free Savage up to do the Mega-Powers storyline."

They have solid chemistry and Randy's battle against the odds doesn't leave a sour taste in the mouth when he didn't win the belt back. He'd get a nice consolation prize a few months later!"

I didn't like Peggy Sue, who was a female manager they were trying with HTM; I wouldn't have realized it was Sherri if not for my friend. This of course didn't have a clean finish; but if you didn't expect that going into a Honky Tonk IC title defense I don't know how to help you."
