After a passable SummerSlam 1993 Main Event that was already hurt by its finish, how about we do the same match again, in worse, filled with rest holds, and ruined by yet ANOTHER bad and annoying finish? ! Seriously, the match itself was "somewhat" passable, but in combination with the ending and over-bloated runtime, this just feels like a huge waste of time, especially when you got Hart vs Yokozuna lined up for later anyways. Barely redeemable, 1/10. |

6 | 08.04.2025 | Suit Williams | 0.0 | Four NERVE HOLDS, a crappy finish, and bullshit chants ringing out after a WWF Title match result in one of the worst matches you'll ever watch. An awful, boring, messily booked World Title match, and the death knell for Lex Luger as a top act in the WWF. DUD |
7 | 07.04.2025 | Ajay00329 | 0.0 | So Yoko has to compete in the main event tonight, lex can't be the champ due to babyface vs babyface not working for mania. So what WWE might do here? Oh wait DQ lex because he accidently bumped into Mr perfect. This is a sorry excuse for a world title to end. And it would have made more sense of yokozuna won via pinfall rather then DQ. |

Mr Fuji looked absolutely wrecked and had no place taking a bump here. Also not sure what the ghost jump into the barricade Luger did was about. |

But he didn't until like 2002 after WCW folded and this was never mentioned again. This match wasn't bad until the never-ending nerve hold. Undoubtedly, Yokozuna needed to catch his breath, but it just brought what started out as a decent match to a screeching halt. |

31 | 14.09.2024 | nothingleftinside | 1.0 | While Luger's offense looks good in this, the heat is full of boring ass nerve holds that last forever. Take those out of this match and it really isn't that bad. I guess they felt like they needed to give a title match (one of two on this card) something near 15 minutes, which is really too long for these two. Luger manages a crappy looking slam on Yoko and the managers come in to take their bumps, which is honestly pretty entertaining, but once you see perfect not counting the three you know that Luger isn't coming away with this one. It is a mystery why Luger was booked so weakly while getting pushed as strongly as he did in the WWF. Completely bullshit and not clever finish to this to screw Luger; this match definitely loses a point for this. |
32 | 29.08.2024 | PUROCZN1326 | 4.0 | Well for starters Mr Perfect as a Ref is certainly interesting. He actually did pretty good. Lex also got a new theme which I like. A nice story was told with Lex going for that Body Slam and failed. The match was pretty slow, but when it wasn't, it was fine. I think it could have gone a little shorter to avoid much of the slow pace. Eventually Lex got the Slam. Mr Perfect with an insane Screw Job to end the match in a DQ. Which was whatever I guess. |

35 | 12.08.2024 | KayfabeZone | 0.0 | I hated this match. I know Yokozuna had to manage his energy due to him wrestling twice on this show, but that's still going to affect the quality of this match. Luger spent half the match in a nerve pinch ffs. Luger's main event push was pretty much done after this. [DUD] |

37 | 04.08.2024 | brooksavage2004 | 0.0 | I hate this match so much. It's way too slow, insanely boring, the DQ finish was also horrible and the main thing that makes this worse than ever is the fact that Bret Hart beats Yokozuna for the world title at the ned of the show making this complete waste of time pointless. |

39 | 23.07.2024 | UltraMark1 | 0.0 | This match was not that good to begin as it was slow and boring- i have enjoyed a couple of yokozuna matches recently but not this one - then the terrible ending happened so it makes it a 0/10 for me but this is typical Wwf at the time a world title match ending in a DQ |

Yoko obviously had to wrestle slower to have some stamina left for the second match and I think that he did well when in control, showing some heel demeanor and working the crowd. I'll agree that there were too many rest holds at one point, but the final minutes were great with Luger's comeback as it felt really energetic and the crowd was into it. I didn't mind the finish as Hennig played his asshole role perfectly. Decent stuff, really overhated match in my opinion. |

80 | 29.07.2023 | KingsCrossing | 2.0 | Luger debuts a new theme with some odd timing for his entrance here, and while it isn't bad it doesn't exactly get your blood pumping. I think their match at SummerSlam is really underrated, but this is nowhere near as good as that was. Things started well and I was initially wondering why this has such a low rating, but it didn't take long until I saw exactly why. Once Yokozuna took over this became incredibly slow and uneventful. I assume there was little confidence that he had the cardio to wrestle twice in one night, as he clearly was not pushing himself very hard here. Luger's comeback is fun and energetic, but it's hard to overcome the fact that essentially nothing happens for the majority of the match. Couple that with an underwhelming screwjob finish and I don't think I can convince myself to give this a passing grade. Not WrestleMania calibre at all. |

Yokozuna had such a long nerve hold on Lex Luger, which bored everyone, and took away any excitement people had. I get that Yokozuna wanted to take it easy as he was going to compete again, but it doesn't mean you put your opponent in such a long hold. I didn't like the finish either, why even go for the controversial ending? Could have just made it a short explosive match. [*] |
97 | 10.08.2022 | Outbackjames | 7.0 | ..................I like this match (ducking for cover). So much history, a great surprise to start it out, the debut of Lex's inferior face theme, the moment you realize Perfect has zero interest in counting for Lex, the post-match interview...I like the drama. |
98 | 28.07.2022 | OnlyHalfTheEffinShow | 1.0 | This match only gets a rating over a 0 because the first like, 3 minutes weren? t that bad honestly. Lex? s offense is fiery (he even busts out a top rope cross body for Christ? s sake) and Yoko wasn? t gassed out yet, if that was all you saw, you? d be forgiven for thinking this match wasn? t as bad as its rating suggests it is. Everything following that first 3 minutes would prove that estimation wrong. Yoko quickly slows things down, understandably considering of the two matches he has to work that night, this is by far the least important. But FUCK man, there was at least 6 straight minutes of nerve-pinch resthold spots while Fuji and Cornette tried their damndest to entertain the crowd with their heelish, manager antics to no avail. By the time Luger does work up his halfway decent comeback and sorta stir the crowd out of their slumber, the referee Mr. Perfect screws him and DQs him anyway for? Heel reasons I guess? What little redeeming qualities this match had was ruined by that completely and utterly flat finish. This match did no man favors, why couldn? t Yoko just pin him clean? Have Luger get distracted by Yoko? s managers (he has TWO at ringside for Christ? s sake! ), have Corny do the old tennis racket whack or Fuji could throw salt or bash him with the Japanese flag. Hell, even a count out victory would? ve been better than this. What a dull match. |
