AJ Styles vs. The Amazing Red

[8.0] "This was a great match. The early days of TNA could be rough to watch, but the X-Division was consistently the highlight. It was good to great almost every week, with AJ Styles being the main face of the division. Here he was defending the X-Division Championship against the young and very talented Amazing Red. This was just a fun match, with Red using his quickness and agility to outpace AJ. What I enjoyed was that this was a mostly clean match. Yes, Mortimer Plumtree tripped Red's leg once, but this was a clean match otherwise, with AJ reversing a top rope rana into a successful pin. ****"

[7.0] "It was a very action-packed match throughout. Both complement each other really well but this isn't their prime yet. The ending is really good as well, the roll up after the top rope hurricanrana is unexpected."

[8.0] "Great match from Aj Styles and Amazing Red. Both guys still early in their careers and the company still in its first year. The influence these two guys have over the years is just amazing and phenomenal. This match specifically was excellent, great pacing, not too many spots but Red's offense was still very innovative. It was great for the time they had in the ring."

[8.0] "A great main event title match between two great talents. I love going back and watching old Amazing Red matches from this era. AJ Styles always finds a way to impress me and I really enjoyed the finish to this match. AJ makes it out still champion."

[10.0] "What an amazing match. It was fast paced and intense, with great action. AJ Styles is in beast mode here, incredible offense and powermoves to his small rival. Red's selling make him look incredible. On the other hand, Red is an amazing high flyier, he made some good reversals and moves. This two have a good chemistry, so they made some cool sequences, such as the ones at the begining of the match. Really great, really incredible match for the time. The finish was cool, both wrestlers looked strong. A clasic from the early TNA."

[9.0] "The match was amazing, although for me personally I didn't believe in the victory of Amazing Red, but they did a good job, at least they managed to catch the fans by surprise a few times. High speed, awesome moves that looked powerful and painful. And also the shouting and screaming of the commentators, who shouted down the crowd, of course. The ending helped both wrestlers look cool and strong."

[8.0] "Very good main event between AJ Styles and Amazing Red to conclude an average episode in which they clearly stole the show without any doubt, it's already something cool that they had the main event spot at the time and they totally delivered to prove they deserved it. I won't say it was amazing either but the two clicked straight away and for twelve minutes the pace never dropped, the intensity was always there and this was a lot of fun. Maybe some people will say that this match has aged badly because now you can see spotfests like this almost everywhere considering how modern wrestling is represented, however it was something pretty crazy to see a match like this main event a show on national TV twenty years ago. Amazing Red got a fun showing against the champion and the action was great."

[10.0] "Loved this, another home run for AJ Styles in this era and Amazing Red really getting to show off what he can do. The action was great but what I liked most is they really structured it to help Red look like a big deal and raised his stock, without hurting AJ's push. Great action and great execution, a big winner."

[8.0] "I really haven? t been a fan of early days AJ from what I? ve seen but this really impressed me. No awful heel persona, he went out there and wrestled. Amazing Red was awesome too, he matches AJ in many ways a shined too. ****"
