I have nothing against long holds when they add something to the story being told, but there was no struggle and it felt like an excuse them to catch a breather. Outside of that, this was fine. Bulldog busting out stuff from his high flying days when he was absolutely roided to the gills was commendable, even when the execution wasn't the cleanest. Bulldog is so over here. They recycle an old finish where Bulldog wins with a crucifix pin. Bobby Heenan's humorous commentary also added to my enjoyment."

Gorilla Monsoon was awful here but I'm not holding it against the match, and outside of one never-ending hold spot, the pace was shockingly decent and it was a genuinely good power match come the end. So here we are, evidence that Warlord had a good singles match."

[6.0] "I didn't think it was THAT bad, but they definitely played into two boring submission spots (Bearhug and Full Nelson) far too long for The Warlord, aka Steroid Stone Cold. These guys worked a better match earlier in that year. I'm also not 100% sold on the random crucifix ending, but I know they wanted to put Bulldog over again, and I guess they didn't want to repeat the much more impressive Running Powerslam finisher ending. The Bulldog was one of my favorite ring workers of the early 90's era. He didn't really get to show off his arsenal in this match, but I still can't hate too much."

[6.0] "I must confess, I feel a bit like I must have gone insane as I read through these comments, because I have no idea how they could possibly be about the same match that I just saw? For the most part, I didn't think this was slow paced in the slightest...? In fact, I'd outright say it was the opposite up until around the midway point where The Warlord took over, and even then it still at least felt like something was happening. The only exception for me was the lengthy Full Nelson, which probably should have just been cut out entirely to get straight to the finish (I didn't think it made a lot of sense that Warlord just let go of the hold either). Their match at WM was better, and I have no clue why they decided to give this more time than Roberts vs. Savage, but these two have surprising chemistry and I thought this was another good match between them."

[3.0] "I have raved about these two in earlier matches, but this feud is played out at this point. Gone is the story of Warlord's unbreakable full Nelson, with Bulldog having to switch up his typical powerhouse style and rely on speed and technique to beat the bigger man. There's just no good story here, just two big guys trading moves. The crowd does get into the match though, so it's not a total loss. But it felt like both men were just going through the motions, repeating spots from earlier matches (such as the full nelson) but without the intensity."

However, Bulldog did everything he could to make this watchable, and I think this one ended up being average. Pretty good when Bulldog is on offense, pretty Dull when Warlord is on offense. Cut down a bit of time taking out the long submissions and this would've been just alright"

The Full Nelson spot though sucked as it didn't lead to anything and Warlord all of a sudden just decided to stop, but other than that I liked the match."

This was like watching Undertaker/Gold Dust fight each other for 3 or 4 ppv's in 1996. Just two guys stuck in limbo. Wasn't a terrible match but if you've seen one you've seen them all."

[5.0] "Decent match. These two had a weird chemistry together that resulted in them being able to pull out a few powerhouse battles that ended up being way better than it had any right to be. Maybe a hot crowd added to what they were doing too, but I'm not complaining. [**1/2]"
